Everytime I come here it's a 5 star experience. First of all, this place has the best hojicha latte in DFW and I always ask for it with Oat Milk. We were in the area super early so we stopped in for breakfast (first time!) and breakfast did not disappoint. I got an avocado toast and the hubs got the morning set that comes with sausage, toast (thick!), and side salads. It was perfect. Presentation and service is also the best here!
Cafe Hana is one of my favorite Japanese cafés. The space has had a minor update as there are also more pastry and dessert options. Time for a review update! My Overall Rating - 5 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - Café Hana has a new sign outside. The coffee shop seating has been replaced with small tables. The result is more seating for this popular weekend spot. There are also some tables outside which is always a good option if weather permits. 1 Star. Service - The staff is super nice. It's counter service, so you order at the front. Café Hana also has a new menu which showcases how diverse their tea, coffee, and food items are. After placing our order, we grabbed a seat, and a short time later our items came out. You'll feel very welcome here. 1 Star. Food - Thank you Café Hana for the new menu! I ordered a Yuzu Pear Ade because I never heard of it. Oh my, it turned out to be a deliciously refreshing pear soda. It was very Japanese and very good. On this visit, I went with a pork katsu sando. First of all, the sando was so pretty when it came out, I had to snap a photo before I devourted the tender fried pork cutlet. The Japanese slaw added a cool, creamy texure. But what held it all together (literally) was the perfectly toasted bread. 2 Stars. Will I Return? - Yes. I think I could fill the remainder of 2026 with a different drink from Café Hana each weekend. Yes, not only will I be back, I need to strategically plan my next visit. 1 Star.
This small and adorable cafe has Japanese inspired meals and Japanese novelty all around. This is one of the few places where you can find sandos in DFW! I'm biased with hojichas since I enjoyed the taste of roasted green tea and the mango they added made for a delicious drink. The staff are also very friendly - they close early! Be sure to show up early if you can. My friends and I always come back here for a quick stop, the drinks and food items are tough to find!
I liked the good variety on the menu and plenty of parking. I got the Mentaiko Pasta which was fairly tasty, balanced, and the bread that came with it was toasted and delish. Also had the Curry Rice which was on the meatier end so not the typical Japanese sweetness which was a plus and the katsu. All the portions were small for the average texan. Strawberry Matcha Latte was quiet expensive considering adding oat milk made it $9.50, not the most amazing drink. I would not try the items again, but would consider coming back to try some other things on the menu.
I really loved the service here. The lady at the front was extremely kind and super friendly. The matcha was amazing, I loved the flavor and the texture, it was everything I looked for in a matcha and 100% recommend this spot to everyone. The cafe itself seems a little cramped and the front is kind of disorienting but it isn't terrible. Loved the flavor of the matcha here!
The cafe is on the smaller side and has a limited menu of sando and some other foods. You order and pay at the counter at the front so service on the lighter side. We opted for the spicy chicken katsu. The spice element is just chili paste/sambal so the heat is definitely there. The chicken is on the dryer side though but overall its a simple sando. The drinks weren't too bad, with some nice seasonal offerings to choose from.
a solid four stars! I can't believe this place exist in the middle of irving... We were in the area and wanted to get something to drink. This place popped up and had lots of interesting drinks. We ended up getting a matcha pineapple tea and a mango hojicha latte with oatmilk. Both drinks were really good. The first sip was actually really sweet, but once you mix it around it gets better. Also, for the hojicha drink, i think it had red bean in it? not 100% certain, and normally i don't like red bean, but this was really good. They also have pastries, and we ended up getting a yuzu one. i see that they also have entrees like curry and sandwiches. This place seems very small, so i don't know where they have the space to cook all the food items, one hypothesis is that they get the food from the Japanese restaurant next door. Service was great and they were friendly.
Cute, small-business Japanese cafe that offers great quality food and drinks! I'm not much of a matcha aficionado but this would certainly be any matcha lover's dream, especially in terms of the variety that's offered. They already have a wide selection in terms of their general menu but they also offer a seasonal menu with a number of variety as well. I personally got the matcha pineapple tea which I thought provided a great matcha flavor and was balanced by just the right amount of sweetness with the pineapple. For food, I got the chicken katsu sandwich. There was a hefty sized chicken breast that they used. The lettuce provides a nice crunch and the teriyaki sauce gives the flavor. It was certainly filling but the chicken was so thick that sometimes it just didn't have enough flavor. Maybe it could have been seasoned more or a greater amount of teriyaki sauce could have been added. Briefly, in terms of service, I thought it was great. It seems like a small, tight-knit group of people that are truly invested in the business. If I'm in the area again, I look forward to coming back.
I stopped by Cafe Hana for lunch today and this place is an awesome Japanese cafe with a good amount of food options. After reviewing the menu, I decided to go with the Ebi Fry Curry. When the food arrived, it was picturesque. The shrimp were perfectly crispy and the curry was very well flavored. I thought the portion size was perfect as well for lunch. They have a plethora of drink options as well. I decided to get a midday matcha and that hit the spot. Since I work close, I'll be becoming a regular here.
Cutest Japanese cafe with Japanese owners! They have a large variety of drink combos and some dishes. They have lunch sets during the weekdays and other dishes like curry and sandwiches. I got their katsu sandwich which was delicious! It doesn't come with anything on the side. For drinks I got their matcha and hojicha which were both good, not the best I've had in the DFW area but still satisfies my cravings. They also have some smaller Japanese snacks available. They have a few tables inside and one or two seats outside to enjoy. Will definitely come back if I'm in the area!
It's a very crowded and cramped cafe, and their staff isn't the nicest. I ordered a matcha latte and the mentaiko pasta, and both were just okay. The matcha wasn't well mixed, so my first sip was almost all powder. The mentaiko pasta was too fishy with not enough spice to balance out the fishiness, and the sauce was too watery. A lot of people were in the cafe chatting, so it's probably not the best environment/cafe to go to if you want a quiet place to study or get some work done. However, I'd be down to come back again and try their sandos because they do look really good! I'd also like to try some of their other drinks as well.
I come here every week for my FAVORITE drink, the Yuzu Matcha Ade. Why is this my favorite drink? I like matcha but all the other places put milk with their matcha... I'm lactose intolerant . The Yuzu Matcha Ade is like a matcha soda (no milk), soooo good! Other than good drinks Cafe Hana also has good food as well. The Pork Katsu Teishoku reminds me of the pork cutlet set I had in Japan. The different sandos are tasty too. Before I forget, the dessert at Cafe Hana are DELICIOUS! Get the different types of Panna Cottas.
Had a great experience trying Cafe Hana. It's tucked off in Irving, but the vibe & food are both amazing. We tried the drinks (forgot the exact names), the Strawberry Sando, & the Chicken Katsu Sando. My favorite was the Chicken Katsu Sando. It was big & every bite was delicious. The cafe is so cute, definitely stop in if you like coffee or dessert. They also have a menu to eat from. It's very clean and would be a great place to bring a friend/date for a chat or even just to work. The service is very helpful and friendly! The girl at the counter helped me pick out my dessert, the mango yogurt cup. I took it home to share and was so glad because it was so rich and creamy! I also got an iced vanilla latte, which is one of THE best I've ever had! read more

One of the best cafe in the dfw area and i love everything on the menu, the only thing i wish is for the chicken nanban to be more seasoned because its just the katsu in the sando but other that that its great. the workers are the sweet and welcoming. the place is a bit small but other than that i love this place read more
All of the drinks here are great. The matcha latte is amazing but the houjicha latte is even better! Definitely looking forward to coming back. The spicy chicken katsu Sando is also a must try. All of the flavors are there and I would go for seconds again. The only con here is their WiFi is really slow so if you plan to come in here to do some work on the laptop, be prepared to work with slow WiFi. read more

I love all the decor! PRICE: ~$25 WOULD I COME BACK? Maybe. **** Overall Rating: 8/10 - I came here after two friends recommending this place and I was blown away by how beautiful the interior is! - The employees were very nice and courteous and provided a comforting environment. - Their menu is HUGE! I was a bit overwhelmed in deciding what to order but I decided to get something classic to compare it to other spicy chicken katsu sandwiches I've had. - I would say the cabbage slaw was cut well and added a nice crunch but the chicken breast cutlets were too big! Even @papreechaat stated the last time she was here the cutlets were smaller and easier to eat and even crunchier. - The spiciness was lacking so we added some spicy mayo for some flavor and creaminess and it tasted better. - The matcha and houjicha was pretty good! Houjicha is like matcha, like a roasted darker tea that has been turned into a powder form. I recommend the drinks for sure. - I think the sandwiches were really good quality and well-prepared but they need to make it more spicy and smaller cutlets. I love this place! It is a cute, clean cafe with very nice customer service. Their matcha is delicious and rich, and their coffee is strong and tasty. They have lots of syrup options and an expansive food menu as well. While a little on the pricy side, their drinks are very good quality and consistent. read more

My husband and I went there for the soft Opening. It is a very small, cozy very clean space. They have soft music playing and you can watch the staff preparing the food. The food was delish. We ordered the egg and pork sandos. The bread is very soft and fresh. The coffee is really delicious I normally drink coffee w cream but, this coffee needs nothing on it to taste the purity and balance of the acidity. It also has some sweetness that almost taste like honey. I ordered the iced Houjicha latte for the first time and let me tell you, I have been craving it ever since. Will definitely be going back. I give this place a 10 for cleanness, ambiance, drinks and food. read more

Stopped by this cute cafe on the way back home to Houston. Staff were so nice and the place is cozy and clean. There are also cool anime posters on the walls! We ordered the iced vanilla latte which had the right amount of sweetness to be able to taste the actual coffee. We also ordered a iced matcha latte which was amazing! You can actually taste the slight bitterness of the matcha which is balanced by the sweetness of the overall drink! Finally we ordered a katsu sandos which was good! Wish we had one in Houston! read more

the people there are super nice! just be mindful it is a smaller area inside. i didn't try the pastries but the matcha was good, i might try a regular one next time since the earl gray wasn't sweet enough for me haha (if you like the taste of tea a lot i say get the earl gray matcha) read more
Our absolute favorite cafe. It's so hard not to go overboard and order everything! Some of our go-to favorites are the mango hojicha and the any of their matcha drinks. And don't get me started on their food. Their katsu curry and mentaiko udon always hits!! They have amazing sandos as well, so good that I always leave with a loaf of their milk bread to have at home. We have put our friends on this little spot and they've loved it every time! This place was much smaller than expected but so I wouldn't come here with a large group. Their matcha latte was well made, with the bold matcha flavor and just the right amount of sweetness. Their Kyoto coffee was also good and not as bitter as I expected. Not only were the drinks freshly made but also their food and desserts! I liked the saucy flavors of their udon but if you don't like the japanese fishy flavors, I would avoid this dish (haha). Their yuzu lychee Pana cotta was amazing - very soft and loved the addition of the yuzu. Their strawberry sando was also good with the soft white bread, sweet strawberries, and not too sweet cream. However I am shocked at how expensive the sando was... I have def tried just as good sandos for half the price. I can't be too mad since it was good (haha). Next time I would like to try their other desserts and their katsu sando! read more

I got the Sakura matcha they make the syrup in house. I will say the Matcha powder is good but the drink itself was JUST a regular matcha latte. It's a bit pricey for a matcha latte with almond milk which was 8.50 and the almond milk isn't even organic plus its kirkland I'm only saying this for your knowledge some people care about the ingredients. It's a cute drink but I probably won't get it again. Great service friendly environment the ladies are so sweet & I didn't try anything else. read more
This cafe is tucked away in the back of a building, next to Edoko. It is a small space, but there are quite a few tables and bar seats. I ordered my items to go, and waited about 15 minutes for everything. I got 3 of their Sandos (Soft Shell Crab, Tamago, Strawberry and Cream) and Hojicha Latte with oat milk. My favorites were the tamago and strawberry, as they were simple yet tasty. Next time, I would pass on the crab and try Ebi Katsu, Kakuni, and Mentaiko Pasta. Prices for their food seem reasonable, but the drinks are grossly overpriced. Employees were polite and welcoming. read more

The ladies who work there are also so nice and very welcoming. I can't wait to try more items at this cafe and hope they have all the success! Needed to get some work done so I decided to visit this new cafe in Irving. There's a good amount of people that came through while I was there, but you should still be able to grab a seat easily. It's a smaller space so it didn't ever get too loud. I wanted a drink, something savory and something sweet so I ordered an iced hojicha latte, a curry pan, and a yuzu panna cotta. The hojicha latte was flavorful, yet light and not too sweet. My absolute favorite was the curry pan. Since I dined in, it came out hot and the bread was just perfectly fluffy and crispy. The curry inside was also perfectly seasoned and a tad spicy which I really liked. The yuzu panna cotta was a veryyy light dessert, if you tend to like sweeter desserts and want to indulge I wouldn't recommend it. But it's perfect for someone with a 'not too sweet' palate haha. I ended up being very productive and would love to try one of their sandos next time! read more

The Matcha is so good! Took a trip to Dallas, and decided to give this cafe a try. The service was wonderful and friendly. We tried the chicken sando, a matcha cookie, and both a hot and iced matcha latte. Probably some of the best, most authentic matcha I've ever tasted. Definitely a cute spot. Found this on TikTok and went with my friends to try it. I enjoyed the matcha it was good quality. The strawberry sando was served and wrapped in newspaper? I think I liked that touch. I've never had strawberry sando before and I've always wanted to try it but it felt overpriced for what it was. I would go again just to get the matcha! read more

I really wanted to like Cafe Hana & have been there 3 times total. This past visit will unfortunately be my last attempt. I frequently visit shops around DFW for matcha, as well as make many matchas at home, and Cafe Hana is just not a good spot for matcha. The matcha itself is quite bitter. I've tried their rose matcha, regular hot matcha latte, & the Sakura iced matcha latte. All of which were quite expensive ($7-$9+) and not worth the money to me. My rose matcha latte was overpowered with rose flavoring. The regular hot matcha latte was bitter (this is a go-to for me to order plain matcha with just almond milk in attempt to truly taste the matcha). It needed honey, or some sweetener to tame the bitterness. Lastly I tried the Sakura iced matcha latte and again my matcha was bitter. I did mix the Sakura + milk mix with the matcha which did sweeten the drink up, but it then was overly sweet. I'm pretty bummed because this is a small business and I love their offerings of matcha. I just think they need to give them a bit more love for them to truly be good. In all honesty I don't like giving negative reviews so this does hurt to report. I'm hopeful Cafe Hana can improve and I'm more than happy to return. read more

Cafe Hana is a cute and quaint Japanese style cafe. They have great drinks and even offer bites from delicious Sando's to desserts. They are very welcoming, extremely friendly and the vibe makes you want to sit and stay awhile. Definitely a must visit in the DFW area! read more

The people running this place are extremely polite and accommodating, their service was impeccable. The space itself is very cozy and fun as well. I got the Katsu Curry with an iced Houjicha Latte. The Katsu Curry was crisp and light while the curry was extremely flavorful and spiced very well. The Latte was great! A very sweet roasted matcha flavor that wasn't overbearing at all like some matcha can be. I sat at the countertop and watched them make the Strawberry Sandos fresh right in front of me, so I had to get one on my way out. The cream was freshly made and it felt like biting into a cloud. The strawberries were massive and flavorful, and the bread was very good and strong enough to hold the whole thing together. All in all a very great spot for a quick bite or a drink! this place is really new but already so good! i got their matcha latte and chocolate bread. the drink was very good, with strong high quality matcha! it comes at a very low sweetener level that makes the matcha flavor stand out. you can adjust the sweetness if you'd like, though. the only suggestion i would have is to whisk the matcha a bit more to incorporate it better in the drink. it did have a little bit of matcha settle at the bottom, but this was definitely due to technique rather than low quality matcha! definitely recommend if you're looking for a good matcha latte, one of the best in the area! the bread was also very nice, it felt kind of like a cinnamon bun with chocolate? the texture was soft and they even warmed it up for me! when they gave the warmed bread to me, it wasn't too hot, just warm enough to make it pleasant to eat. lovely! the interior is small with limited seating. they do have a bar area that was a cool addition to their cafe! the decoration is cute and has a modern minimalistic japanese look, which suits the cafe very well! it's not overwhelming in decoration or music. the prices were great and the staff were very kind and helpful. id love to come back and try their hojicha latte next time! please come try this place out :) read more
