The manager, Oliver said they do this so it's easier to digest. Then we had the salad Laura with Burata Stracciatella cheese, fresh cut tomatoes, croutons and fresh sliced parmesan cheese. I sprinkled some balsamic vinegar on top and this is a winner salad. So much that we took 1/2 of it home. Our server, Victoria was great, welcoming and passed our meal service with a great tone. With the increase in traffic, it was nice to be tended by more than one waiter. I didn't think about it then, but I would have loved to tip the second person, as well. When going to Postino's, I always try to get something new and they never fail to impress. Drink: The Mockingbird (Mocktail) - bright pineapple, a touch of Italian orange, and toasted almond bitters. This was very good and is something I'd get again. The Board: Brie, Apple & Fig Spread - this is a repeat for me, I absolutely love it. The apples are always fresh, crisp, and juicy. This was very delicious, the ham stood out and wasn't muted. However, I think I will get another bread next time. I chose the focaccia, it was a bit too much bread for that particular sandwich. I will admit, it doesn't beat their prosciutto and brie panini; that sandwich is divine. Hot Donut Dots - (House made ricotta donut holes with salted butter chocolate, caramel and vanilla glaze dipping sauces.) These are superb and packs a lot in one bite. The cream in the middle is so smooth and full of flavor, but is very heavy. I'm not a cookies and milk person, but this dessert craves a tall glass of milk. They were hot, fresh, and I appreciate the fact that even when fried, they were not swimming in grease. The vanilla dipping sauce was my go-to, of the three sauces. They did well with this dessert, it hit all of the bases. Postino's is a great place to visit with friends, a date, or even as a solo-day/night out. They are one of my top 5 restaurants and I don't see that changing, ever!

This place is awesome, a quaint restaurant with a nice atmosphere that would remind you of an original Italian ristorante. There are so many positives about this establishment I don't know where to start. Obvious the food is amazing and always fresh. The Chicken Balsamic and Arrabiata have always been a favorite but the veal dishes are equally as good. The pink vodka sauce is also mouth-watering. They have a Chicken Sunrise dish that is covered with this pink creamy sauce which is delectable, to die for. The wait staff is always very attentive and eager to meet your needs. Even the owner, I believe his name was Nick, stopped by our table to welcome us. Wow it's been awhile since that has happened. The establishment is BYOB which is also convenient so you can bring your favorite Vino. The staff will quickly uncork your bottle and bring fresh bread while you wait for your meal to be prepared. The few times I have been it is usually crowed so plan accordingly, other Italian connoisseurs have found this place which is making it harder to get a table. It's also important to note this is definitely not the same restaurant as the location on Northwest Hwy. The location on Ira E Woods (Hwy 26) is hands down superior. For one it is clean, plus the food and the service far exceed the other location. A perfect place for date night. Bring a bottle of wine then go enjoy some incredibly food and fantastic service. Our Favorite Place! Our whole family loves this place, we always go there for any family celebration. My grandchildren love to eat there and my granddaughter always wants two salad because she loves their Ranch Dressing. We almost always have fried calamari. It is crispy and delicious. It comes with a great marinara sauce. Service is always the best and each server is a delight. All of them treat us like Royalty. My favorite Dishes there are the Chicken Dishes, they are all excellent and have an delicious creamy and savory sauce for each entrée. Love, Love, Love their Chicken Genovese with the Portobello Mushrooms. All pastas are excellent especially with the Pink Vodka Sauce.My husband loves their Marinara Sauce but most of all he loves their steaks that are always cooked to perfection. This place is also BYOB and we are extremely excited about that. We can manage to go out to eat more and save on our bar tab. My husband has a little problem getting around and the Owner, Nick is always there to help him in and get seated. He takes his cane and places it away and has it back when we are ready to leave. He even helps him get to car if time permits and he is not really busy. I suggest reservations on Friday and Saturday night they are always very busy. Oh, if you go there on a slow night Nick has some great cards tricks. I have seen them many times and we still cannot figure out how he does them. Very impressive! Traveled from Memphis to work two weeks in Midlothian, Texas. Great chance to visit my daughter living in Grapevine, Texas. Literally began searching for a place to eat dinner as we got in the car. Bingo! What a find! There are not quite enough words to express how 5 star this place is. Cozy, charming, atmosphere, impeccable staff and service. Now I had to take my co-workers, then again my daughter, 3 times in one week we ate at Café Italia. Food was always excellent, calamari perfectly cooked. Tiramisu desert is worth it's weight in gold! Grapevine is truly blessed to have this place and it's staff. It's off the beaten path, and there seems to be two Cafe Italia locations. The Ira E Woods Ave location will immediately become your favorite restaurant. It's BYOB, so bring FINE wine to go with the food here. Nick our server surprisingly turned out to be quite the entertainer/magician as he had us all wondering and saying "How did he do that". Best tableside magic / card tricks ever. Did I mention that there are not quite enough words to express how 5 star this place is.....you cannot be disappointed in this place......my only disappointment is knowing I have to go back to Memphis and we don't have a Café Italia. A few notes - BYOB so plan ahead. Also, we had a very strange experience as my wife booked a reservation through a website for a birthday dinner. She used this option because it was before the restaurant opened. She had planned to call Cafe Italia directly, but that didn't happen. We got there and showed the confirmation and were told they don't use/have a relationship with the site my wife used and therefore no info was passed along to the staff. They apologized and did everything they could to make it right. They worked us in after seating those with reservations - which was a challenge that night as they were finishing with a large party. Despite these challenges, once we got seated, the wait staff was great and did all they could to make us welcome! We had bread and apps within a few minutes of sitting down. The food was fabulous - and we, as many have mentioned, were also treated to some magic at our table - which made the birthday celebration even better. Needless to say, we have no hesitations in recommending them. We will be back - we'll just call them directly to make the reservation next time. read more

I have just returned home from Cafe Italia on Highway 26 in Grapevine. I have been to this restaurant (and the one on Northwest Highway occasionally) for many years. I came here tonight with two other friends. As always, the staff was amazing and the food was wonderful. But we all three were tired and not in the best of moods. We loved our food and our waiter, but after we paid, we sat and continued to talk. In walked Nick, who did an entire magic show right in front of us at our table. He is amazing. I have never seen anything like that in my entire life. He made me and my friends laugh, and we left our Cafe Italia in a much better mood and ready for what else is left of our week. If you love Italian food then you have to dine at Cafe Italia. My wife and I were going on a date and were scrolling through yelp looking for a good Italian restaurant. We scrolled through the reviews of Cafe Italia and were very impressed so we decided to try out Cafe Italia. We were seated immediately and were taken care of by the very friendly staff. We ordered the Fried Calamari as our appetizer and were very impressed. I ordered Fillet Mignon and my wife ordered the Angel Hair. We were blown away by the food that was served to us. The Fillet Mignon was cooked and seasoned to perfection and the angel hair was just bursting with flavor. Over all the food, service, staff, atmosphere and location were all exponential. My wife and I will definitely be bringing our children to Cafe Italia. You won't regret visiting Cafe Italia! read more

Okay real talk. Amazing. Like simply AMAZING. First off, food was fantastic. Good healthy portions, sauce amazing, meat cooked perfectly. Everything. We had 4 different dishes. Lamb, Chicken Parmesan, Chicken Jerusalem and a days special. Everything was amazing. I couldn't decide which was better. The environment was simply great. Family oriented and BYOB (even though we forgot ours so they helped us out) And then.....THE BEST PART. Nick was our server, who aside From his culinary skills, is also a close up magician. He legitimately fooled the entire table with his awesome hand motions and definitely made me think he was going to get a part of his act wrong, but then he just took it to the next level. As a New Yorker this is the best Italian restaurant i have visited in Texas. It was my wife's birthday and she loves Italian food and based on the reviews we picked Cafe Italia. We made a reservation for two people at Saturday night at 7:30 we showed up ten minutes late and the place was packed even though we showed up late the two sweet hosts manage to get us a table.This place exceeded my expectations both the food and service. Our waiter made us feel not only welcomed but like VIPS.Bruscheta was brought to us and we order calamari as an appetizer.So good!As the main course our waiter recommended chicken rollatini and file mignon special , both were delicious and cooked to perfection.For my wife's birthday brought us cheese cake with a candle Nice touch.Thank you Cafe Italia for making my wife's birthday special. read more

Delish! My dad invited us all out, there were 10 of us and the service, food, and magic show were all amazing! The food was outstanding. I had the eggplant parmesan and it was just right. Usually I've had it soggy, but not here! It was thinly sliced and the red sauce was delicious. My sister had the lobster ravioli which she ate and licked the plate clean! Had some shrimp pasta, alfredo, manicotti, and everyone enjoyed their meal. Desert we had chocolate cake (on the house because they were out of cheesecake) plus tiramasu and creme brulee. We really enjoyed it all. At the end of the meal the chef came out and did magic for my son and his cousin. It was so good! I didn't realize we'd get great food and a show! Overall really nice meal! His magical talents left us all in awe and added a unique and delightful touch to our evening. I absolutely LOVE this place! We found out about it on Tripadvisor.com, and before hearing anything negative, tried it out. I'm so glad we did! Who ever has tried this place and not liked it, either caught them on a bad day or just plain doesn't appreciate great Italian cuisine. I had the Chicken Marsala, and my husband had the Veal Picatta, both were flavorful and delicious! the fresh bread was perfect for sopping up the extra sauce. Without any corking fees, I found this restaurant to be reasonably priced, considering all you get! It is a fine dining place, so don't expect an "Applebees price" comparable final ticket. But compared to others in the area, it is definitely at the top of my list. I'm going back this weekend to try out some seafood, I'll let you know how it goes! read more

This is our favorite restaurant in the metroplex. The food is always great, staff is friendly and it BYOB. Everything we've had on the menu is excellent. Personally recommend the lamb chops, seafood cioppino, and any of the filets. Nick is super. Café Italia is our go-to place to take visiting family, friends or business guests as well as for nights out with our special local friends! Besides getting to bring some nice wine to enjoy with the great food, Nick is nearly always there to do his amazing magic. Doesn't matter how many times I see the tricks, I can't figure it out!! Guests always say the night at Café Italia was wonderful. We've been there many, many times and it's always great. PS, ask for Nick's dipping sauce for the fresh bread. It's awesome! read more

I wish someone hadn't said that about the lobster ravioli. I've had it several times and it is creamy and flavorful and delicious! (Really, anything in the pink vodka sauce is) The food is phenomenal, I wish everyone would give it a try, or at least a second try (for those cranky 1-timers) This is my favorite place. Period. I almost don't want to tell you how great it is in case they get so busy I won't get a seat! Bring a date, bring the family, bring your boss. Either way, it's supporting local business and great personal customer service that those chains just can't offer. We have been going to Cafe Italia for several years, but not as often over the past few years due to the number of excellent restaurants that have come to the area. Tonight, worst service at a restaurant since we moved here in 2003. It was like they hadn't assigned our table to anyone. Had to go up to front desk to ask that we could order. Almost finished our bottle of wine before dinner came. Top it off, a trailer trash meth head in a pony tail wouldn't move his legs for me or my wife to get between the tables to leave - told us to f**ing go the other way. Had to go to front desk to get our check and that took 10 minutes. Awful. Sorry guys, there are too many good options in Grapevine, Southlake and Colleyville to put up with it. This past weekend, we celebrated my brother-in-law and sister-in-law's birthday here and it was a delightful experience. I had the Chicken Parmesan and it was quite delicious, but my wife had the Chicken Special with a creamy white sauce and hers was amazing. By the time we wrapped up the meal, it was time for them to close. We were planning on quickly singing the birthday song and throwing down the cake so the employees can go home; however, the manager Nick came out to our table and gave us a performance - close-up magic. I've seen a ton of magic in my life and I must say that he has a great sleight of hand. Nick and his team were generous with their time and their service. I am in Grapevine Texas on vacation from Little Rock Arkansas I decided to get some Italian and I looked up on yelp and proceeded to this restaurant I decided to give it a shot I went and got a menu and I asked what was one of their bestsellers then the gentleman came in who had a to go order of veal Parmesan after he said that I decided well let's give it a shot. Right off the bat of coming in the restaurant, they treated me like family it was really quite a treat then when my food was ready in less than 10 minutes they said thanks for visiting Grapevine this one's on the house I don't know about y'all but you don't hear of that much these days. We were recommended this restaurant by a very discerning friend of ours, and she was sure on the money. This place is great! The menu offers tons of Italian favorites and not just the pasta and chicken variety. We had veal jerusalim and a salmon oreganata,both delicious. We also had the lobster raviolis with the vodka sauce. That was really killer. We didn't heed my friends' advice about the wine thinking they may have a house wine. Well, they don't. So the next time we will definitely bring our own and there will definitely be a next time. This little gem, as someone else appropriately called it, is authentic, a great value and the food is superb. Highly recommend it if ever in our area. read more

My husband and I were introduced to Cafe Italia a couple of years ago and since then we have not gone anywhere else for Italian food. Every dish that I have tried is phenomenal (the chicken arrabbiata is my favorite right now) and we always have to get a side of the pink vodka sauce to dip bread in. This place is also BYOB. As if it could not get any better everyone who works there makes us feel so welcome and the service is amazing. Nick does magic tricks too...legitimate magic tricks that make me question if magic is real. My family and I went to this place because we felt in need for some Italian food near our location.So we found this place through yelp and looked like a good place.I called and made a reservation for my family.When I got there it was packed with people.We made a reservation so we got taken immediately. We had the best time at cafe Italia with my family! The food and service was was amazing and rare find.
