Once I stepped inside, though I knew I had found a great place! The wooden floors, the brick walls and marble tables I was in for a treat. I was partaking today in the café part of the café and winery. I ordered the southwest chicken wrap. It had a symphonic blend of Chicken, black beans, roasted corn, cheese, tomatoes, and lettuce, all coming together to create a wonderful taste inside of a Fire, roasted tomato wrap. I have absolutely no complaints about the service either. The wait staff worked in harmony in the dining room to make sure everybody was pleased and cared for. This was such a nice place to stop into while shopping. The atmosphere feels very late-80s, but in a good way, with a lot of wood, brick, and marble accents. Our service was fantastic: our server was friendly and efficient and had a liveliness that we loved. Visited this place with some friends while visiting grapevine. The place seemed a very cute cozy Italian restaurant. Upon arrival sadly the hostess did not seem very friendly or wanting to be there but maybe because the restaurant was closing in 30 minutes however still customer service is still very important. She took us to our table while slamming the menus and utensils on the table. However our waitress was kind so she made up for the hostess rude behavior. I ordered a basil pasta with chicken which was truly amazing. Overall great restaurant with great food but the hostess might need to use more training in providing great customer service. read more

Another great restaurant on Grapevine's historic Main Street! Large dining area, Bar adjacent. A bit dark inside. Small outdoor dining area out front. Very clean and well maintained. We came to Farina's Winery & Cafe for a quick snack and a cool down. The place does have an outdoor patio area with plenty of space however; it was too hot the day we went so we enjoyed the indoor seating. Again plenty of room indoors and parking is along the street or parking area. The staff were friendly and welcoming. We had beverages and Baked Artichoke Heart with Garlic bread. All was delicious. I had tried to come to Farina's in the past but at the time they were busy and even though I was seated with my party I was not served in a timely manner and ended up going somewhere else. I tried again and my experience was completely different. The restaurant is on main street with a plethora of other wineries and restaurants. Farina's is cute and feels very authentic, and they have a large selection of wines and a decent amount of food options. I came to eat before an event and I was seated immediately and the staff gave me a great wine recommendation. The wine was smooth, robust and fruity. It had all the best attributes of a red wine. I ordered the Margherita flatbread pizza. It was amazing! Beautiful tomatoes with loads of delicious basil and the crust was cooked perfectly, it was thin, crispy and the cheese was gooey. If I had more time I would have had another glass of wine. Next time I I'm in Grapevine I will definitely come back. read more

Stopped by Farina's after landing at DFW on return home. Happy hour deals are only on select drinks but no food. I thought they used to at least offer discounts on pizzas? The half-order option for pasta dishes is nice since it is more than enough for one person / meal. However, with hindsight I would have paid the minimal $5 more to get a full order to take some home. Not only was the bar service by Corinne perfect as she is very personable without coming across as "fake", but her recommendation on the basil pesto pasta was spot on! Delicious! The Christmas decorations were cute and it felt festive inside! We had a group of four and expected a wait since we didn't make a reservation, so we weren't surprised when the host said it would be about an hour and half. It ended up being about a 40 minute wait! Where we were sat it was super loud because a band was playing so it was really hard to hear anyone talk. My friend was very unhappy with her ravioli because she ordered the half portion for $15 and didn't expect it to only be three raviolis, which left her very hungry. We sat for an hour with no service--strong start, right? We never received the straws we requested, never got a single refill, and one of our meals never arrived. In fact, we are still waiting on that meal as I write this from the car, because we finally got up and left so that person could at least eat before 8 p.m. Our server blamed everyone except herself. As someone who works in food service, I understand there are a lot of moving parts, but it was obvious she had no idea our food was missing. Not only were our glasses empty, but someone else ran our food, and she never followed up. The food is not "to die for," so it's definitely not worth suffering through the terrible service. The ambiance is fine, but nothing you couldn't get anywhere else on the square. Do not go here. We were only apologized to after the fourth time we expressed our needs, were clearly frustrated, and were still waiting on a meal. Even then, the apology was followed by excuses and more blame on others. To top it off, the automatic gratuity--which the menu states is added only to parties of eight or more--was added to our party of five (technically four and a half, considering one of us never got their food and another was a young child with a kid's meal). None of us ordered alcohol, and we still had this added to our check without explanation. We paid, continued waiting for the missing meal, and eventually realized it was probably never going to come. read more

Main Street Grapevine, night on the town, what could go wrong? First time to be here, had a reservation and was seated on time. The live music was terrific, the waitstaff, average. Your waitress takes orders but others serve and fill water. The food though?? After seeing mostly positive reviews. Was awful. The spinach artichoke dip had so much lemon, it felt like they were trying to revive a frozen batch to make it taste fresh, awful. The Salad was oddly, warm. Then came the entrees. Now serving size for a half spaghetti and meatball was fine but for a $25 chicken Parmesan it was small. Now, to the taste. Oh yeah, there was none. Zero. Nada. No seasoning, bland, no smell, good or bad. Seriously, a $3.74 lean cuisine parm chicken would have been better. We didn't complain, why ruin a decent night with a bad attitude but then came the check. Tip was already added. I was the last one to get my meal we talked to the manager and all she could say was that they were real busy, no apology. They did comp mine. Farinas was participating in Ft. Worth Burger Week, which gave me an excuse to come check it out. Their contribution was the Farina burger, which is a meatball patty with melted provolone and marinara. It also came with the veggies on the side, which I thought was a little weird. I don't want pickles on a meatball sandwich, but to the side they stayed. I was glad they put the marinara on the side as I chose to dip the burger instead of smother it. I'm tyin to be a lady over here. The burger was tasty. The actual patty was a bit underseasoned, but the marinara was very flavorful and all together it was delicious. The room decoration was pretty cool, with all sorts of metal geometric shapes over the stage where we were entertained by live music. Our group buffet included a bread basket, an antipasto salad, two pasta dishes (chicken Alfredo) and pesto sausage), lasagna, and a big slice of chocolate lava cake. For a winery, I was surprised not to see either a Merlot or Syrah on the menu. I settled on a glass of their Pinot Grigio, the Banfi Le Rime. For dinner, I ordered the Basil Pesto Pasta with Meatballs​ and opted for the Creamy Tomato Basil soup for my starter. If I had known the garlic bread would be addictive, I would have ordered the half (lunch?) plate rather than the full plate. With that first bite of the garlic bread, I almost ruined my appetite as I could not stop eating them. The soup was just the right portion. Lovely place to sit outside and people watch in Grapevine. The peach Bellini and frozen sangria are wonderful and the glass size is large! The food is good and fresh with a good serving size. The only complaint is that they seem to always be understaffed. Even so, the staff that is there are very nice and they try their best to do what they can. Hope their owner/manager can get some more help to make this place even better. read more
