Keep in mind if you go for brunch at around noon on a Saturday, there might be a line for a table. They offered to give us a patio seat and we accepted (it was one of those days where the air quality was bad, but we were hungry so we took the patio anyways). The food took a while to get there. My friend and I both ordered the same thing, which was the schnitzel sandwich. I had mine with truffle fries and she had it with sweet potato fries. The schnitzel sandwich itself was great. The schnitzel was incredibly well seasoned and just the right amount of crispy. The portion was also quite massive. I didn't really enjoy the bread, particularly with the sesame seeds (it was a lot!) and the pickles felt unnecessary as well. My truffle fries were amazing. I had a few of my friend's sweet potato fries and they were also quite good. They have a really extensive menu, so I actually would want to come back again just to try other things. I didn't get to try the drink menu but I'd also want to try some as well, particularly the smoothies and the lattes. Overall, I'd recommend this brunch place! Make sure you do a reservation if you can if you're coming during peak hours.

I had that dish at another location the first time I tried cafe Landwer and it was to die for. I wanted to try a dinner menu item and got the chicken parmigiana with pasta instead. It was okay but definitely did not compete with the shakshuka I ate previously. Other meals included schnitzel and various pastas. All good but again nothing to write home about. You can make reservations all day on weekdays or on weekends after 3 PM. Brunch is first come, first serve. You can make a reservation or get on the waitlist through Yelp. There is street parking nearby. They also have a "Six, Seven" bar menu on their website with special prices. You can go to the Cafe Landwer website at https://www.landwer.ca. Seems like we happened to go alphabetical for lunch/brunch as the next day Wed., 6/4/25. This place had good reviews. So, we got on TTC to Osgoode station and was a very close walk. It said established in 1919, so we thought it's a good sign it's been in business over a century; although not this location specifically. Their history in the 20th century was that they started in Berlin, Germany in 1919, but they were a Jewish family who ended up immgrating to Israel in 1933, opening their store there, and expanded locations throughout Israel. Their history in Toronto & North America (including some in the US) is much more recent since opening in 2017. Unfortunately, my closest is New York City; none in Maryland or DC area. This location is in busy downtown Toronto. We sat outside on their big patio area as the weather was warm and could enjoy the view of the buildings, people, cars, etc. Server was friendly answering our questions. I ended up getting an egg benedict with salmon in a croissant. It was creative and delicious take on egg benedict. The only issue was it was messy to eat in the croissant, but I didn't care as it was so delicious. My girlfriend got a Belgian waffle with blueberries, whipped cream, etc. It was unique and very good & sweet too as I tried a bite. It tasted more like a non alcoholic sangria with lots of fruit than a traditional iced tea. While it was refreshing, I was hoping for a stronger tea flavor, so it ended up being a bit of a letdown. Overall, there were definitely some highlights, especially the hummus and fresh bread. The staff were friendly but service was a little slow even though it wasn't very busy. We were a party of 9 and each dish came out one by one at different times so our kids were already done with their meal before our dishes came out. Portion size was surprisingly generous. It is a great option around the area and I would be open to return to try out other items on their menu.
