A Hidden Gem with NYC Vibes & Central Perk Charm!…read more Took my bestie to Ravine Cafe today for bunch to celebrate her birthday, and we are still buzzing. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere hit that perfect sweet spot, that classy but cozy, with a definite New York City energy. Think lots natural light with big windows, warm and welcoming lighting, and that effortless "cool" that made us feel like we have stepped into Central Perk. Only things missing is the big orange couch and the oversized coffee mugs. The menu? Bougie without the sting. We both had the eggs Benny, while mine was the Cajun shrimp (unique and flavourful), hers was the classic bacon Benny. They were both beautifully plated, yet surprisingly reasonable for the quality. What really sealed it was the service. Staff was attentive and smiley, but the owner stole the show, came by, chatted for a solid 15 minutes, and shared the restaurant's backstory. Felt like old-school hospitality, not rushed commercially influenced like most of the commercial restaurants in the area. Perfect for a brunch gathering, a date, or just pretending you are in a rom-com. We will for sure be back, and with more friends. Thank you for the great service and amazing food!

It was cool to learn that Seara Bakery & Pastry offers Portuguese pastries and desserts in Vaughan…read more A recent Yelp experience brought me here. This bakery is located in a plaza with plenty of parking. I had no problem finding a parking spot coming from work. Sadly, all the Portuguese egg tarts (natas) were sold out when I had arrived at 5:30 pm. However, I did manage to get a pistachio loaf that looked yummy and ended up taking it home. I have had the following items at this place: - Iced latte - Portuguese vanilla custard-filled donut - Ham and cheese croissant My iced latte was awesome. The woman at the counter asked whether I wanted sugar. I declined it, which made this drink perfect. It was cold. The coffee was smooth. It had the perfect amount of milk. I loved it. My vanilla custard-filled donut came out next. It was cut in half, so I admired all the custard in it. It had sugar around it that was the only sweetness that I got from it. The custard had a mild vanilla flavour and had little sugar, which I appreciated. The donut was more on the egg side of things. If you don't like that eggy taste, it may not be for you. I personally loved how different it was compared to regular overly sweet donuts. My ham and cheese croissant had arrived. When you order a croissant warmed up, it gets pressed in a panini machine. It was different, but it worked. There was a single slice of ham and another slice of cheese in this croissant. It was yummy, but I was yearning for more filling. The croissant had a different type of flakiness when it was pressed to death. I used the washroom before I headed home. Staff here were constantly cleaning tables, chairs, and the washrooms during my visit. The women's washroom is a single stall and it was super clean. My pistachio loaf came up to $8. I paid with a debit card. I tipped and tapped. Done! There are nuts on top of the pistachio loaf, but not in the loaf itself. The loaf was closer to a pound cake, but without a whole lot of moisture. It also had a hint of vanilla or some other extract in it. It wasn't sweet, but it did require downing it with a drink. I ended up taking half of the loaf and making French toast out of it. It turned out nicely. I hope to return to get some natas. There were so many pastries that I want to try as many as possible. (245)

From the moment I walked in, the friendly staff made me feel right at home. They were incredibly friendly and helped make recommendations on their most popular pastries - there's so many to choose from! I got the Pistachio Tiramisu and the Sweet Egg Mille Feuille. The tiramisu was light, sweet, and had a subtle pistachio flavor. The Mille Feuille was massive! It had crispy, flaky layers and a nicely balanced sweet egg custard in between. Very reasonable prices for all their pastries. If you're in the area and craving some authentic Portuguese pastries, I highly recommend stopping by this charming bakery! :)

It felt like stepping into a spot where someone really wanted to showcase as much of Turkish cuisine as possible under one roof. We went with the Fajita, Ali Nazik, and Menemen with Sujuk. For drinks, I couldn't resist the Iced Turkish Coffee. The contradiction alone was too good to pass up and honestly, it worked better than I expected. Food leaned on the lighter side when it came to seasoning, but for anyone new to Turkish flavors, I think this is a solid intro. You still get a good sense of the dishes without being overwhelmed by spice or salt. Also appreciated seeing the little touches of fusion in the menu, blending Turkish flavors with more familiar Western dishes. Staff were friendly, space was clean, and the pricing felt fair for what you get. It might not be the loudest or boldest experience, but sometimes subtle does the job just right. Wouldn't mind coming back next time to explore more of the dessert options. There were so many I didn't even know where to begin.

It is a little bit of an older place, natural lighting from the windows and cute little decor inside. Plenty of table space. I ordered an iced Turkish coffee, it was just ok. Nothing phenomenal I would say about it. I thought the food was a little bit on the pricey side, unfortunately didn't order anything at the time. Service was just okay, server was serving tables and also manning front of house kind of causing a lag of people ordering at the counter. Overall, a good place to meet with friends, work from home or grab a quick bite perhaps.

As an ex-barista, I'm fussy--I hate spending money and not getting a quality product. Unfortunately, the coffee was a swing and a miss. I ordered one iced latte and one hot latte. In both drinks, the espresso was burnt. I actually watched the barista pulling the shots, and I could tell immediately. To make matters worse, the hot drink was barely a latte; it was essentially a cappuccino based on the absurd amount of foam on top. Plus, the milk itself was ruined. There's a certain temperature and texture for steaming milk, and this was clearly burnt milk that had been frothed way too aggressively. Aesthetically, the café is lovely--it's cute and a great spot to work from home. My recommendation? Skip the espresso drinks. Maybe try the matcha or a pastry instead. I definitely won't be back for the coffee.

One of the things that originally made Bready stand out for me when it opened was the pancakes. They were exceptionally light and airy, with a texture that reminded me of Japanese-style soufflé pancakes. On this visit, however, they seemed much denser and closer to conventional pancakes. I'm not sure whether the recipe has changed or whether this was simply an off morning, but it wasn't the experience I'd come to expect. There were also a couple of aspects of the service that I think could be improved. The pancakes took long enough to prepare that my coffee was either cold or already finished by the time they reached the table. Going back to the counter to buy another coffee isn't a great solution because the pancakes then begin cooling while you're waiting in line for that second cup. It might help if customers ordering pancakes were asked whether they'd prefer their coffee served with the meal, or if staff simply checked whether they'd like a fresh coffee when the pancakes are ready. I was also surprised that butter isn't served with the pancakes unless requested. When I asked for it, it arrived straight from the refrigerator, so it was too cold and hard to spread easily or melt onto the hot pancakes. A small dish of room-temperature butter would make a noticeable difference. I'm writing this because Bready has been one of my favourite breakfast spots, and I'd genuinely like to see it continue to excel. I hope this visit was an exception rather than a sign that things have changed.

There was plenty of seating both inside and outside. It was raining that day, so we sat inside, and got a seat upstairs which was nice and quiet. I was looking for a caffeine-free drink and decided to try the Citro Booster because it sounded interesting. It's essentially a blend of lemon, ginger, and turmeric. I can definitely see it being the perfect drink on a cold day or when you're feeling under the weather, although I'm not sure it's something I'd order regularly. We also got the maple latte, which was enjoyable, well-balanced, and not overly sweet. We also got a pastry to pair with the drinks. One thing to note is that they don't have their full pastry selection displayed. There are a few items on the counter, but for many of the others, you need to ask the staff, who will bring them out from boxes behind the counter. The downside is that you don't find out the price until then. I did appreciate that they offered to warm up my chocolate croissant. Unfortunately, the maple latte took a little while to come out, so by the time my drink arrived, the croissant wasn't warm anymore. I would say this is on the pricey side as far as coffee shops go, though I guess cafes aren't cheap nowadays. Our two small drinks and one pastry came to almost $20. Overall, it's a nice, cozy cafe with a decent selection if you're looking for a quick bite.

At first, I wasn't a fan because the flavors felt separate ...caramel, apple, espresso but after letting it sit for a few minutes, everything blended together beautifully. Slightly sweet with a crisp apple note, and I ended up loving it. Lastly, the ginger molasses cookie was soft and had a nice texture, though I wished it had a stronger ginger kick. Overall, great atmosphere, friendly staff, and cozy vibes all around. 4/5. On the pricier for a cafe the two drinks in the cookie it cost me a little under $20
