Trish and I had supper at Cafe Landwer on Friday. I had Schnitzel Parmesan (Crispy chicken schnitzel over angel hair pasta in a creamy rosé sauce, topped with marinara and melted mozzarella) and Trish had Plant-Based Shawarma & Hot Focaccia (Soy strips sauteed with caramelized onions in a shawarma seasoning; served on a focaccia; topped with chickpeas, herbs, tahini & schug). Both were good and we took home leftovers. Marcy was our server. She was friendly and took good care of us.

Cafe landwer bloor & Yonge location came a Saturday lunch hour. Short wait 10-15 min. Good wait-list system that can track line up and text you. Food wise was disappointing side salad for felt like it sat a while wilted no flavor just covered in oil with the shiny appearance on salad. The foccicas upgrade 1.5$ I get this little piece of bread honestly did not look like focaccia more like a pita bread. SO NOT WORTH IT. **DO NOT ORDER THE FOCACCIA upgrade. Compare to another table challah bread which is was standard order more substantial and no $ upgrade required. I ordered the halloumi Shasuka is my standard order. Little fried halloumi hardly of substance felt hollow on the inside with little air pockets. Egg okay could be more runny and tomato flavoring had taste and smell of cast iron. This is not my first time ordering this dish but sometjing definitely off. This was a dish I looked forward to now I don't have any reason to go come back. Food also took a while to come out and the noise level was loud and so hard to hear my friend directly across from me. Not really a place to catch up if you have to shout to hear one another. Aside from the poor food quality, servicers were super nice and friendly, checked in, topped up water. I would not come back.

I have a love for shakshuka ever since I had it in NYC years ago. I tend to go out of my way to try it at any spot that offers it. Today, with the snow and below freezing temp, I made the journey to come to Cafe Landwer to try their shakshuka. Before you judge, I am from CA and here for a visit so the snow and freezing temp almost took me out during my half mile walk. Ambiance: Cafe Landwer reminds me of any other regular diner. It has plenty of tables and seatings. Nothing really special. 2/5 Service: the service was okay. Not as tentative as the diners in the States. Water wasn't refilled until after my meal was done. 2/5 Food: the shakshuka was okay. Nothing about it stood out. If anything, it was mild in flavors. The beef kabobs were a bit dry. The salad was also okay as well. However, the main star of the show was the challah. I have never had challah with shakshuka and honestly, it was such a good combo. The bread was soft and fluffy, and it absorbed the shakshuka sauce so well. I wouldn't mind just munching on the bread only. 3/5 Overall, I would probably say this is 2.5/5 for the overall experience.

Known as a great brunch spot, didnt know they also have great entrees. The Mediterranean whole sea bass was very impressive. First thing gone on the table! Packed on weekend lunch time but service was still very attentive. I would definitely come back.

Finally got to try the Cafe Landwer spot at Bloor/Yonge. Very convenient location. Restaurant is buzzing! No reservations available on Saturday for lunch so I joined the waitlist on the site in a timely manner and it worked out perfect to meet my friend for lunch before a show. I opted for a coffee and the fattoush salad. Everything was perfect. Great coffee. Salad was a good portion and colourful & flavourful! Service was friendly and attentive. It's a fair size place and nicely laid out. It's a bit on the noisy side but as it's generally packed with customers, that's to be expected! Next time I will come for dessert as I spied several good options.... Banoffee, pavlova to name a few things!

First time here and we loved it! I saw photos of their Shakshuka and looked like a unique brunch meal so I had to try it. They have 6 Shakshuka choices: Served with two eggs, tahini, a side salad and a choice of pita, multigrain or a challah, focaccia I got the Merguez Shakshuka and it had lots of unique flavours: Beef sausage, cherry tomatoes, roasted onion and parsley I really loved the freshly made and hot focaccia bread! Yum!!! Also loved their Mint Leaf Lemonade. So delicious and refreshing. Green colour was gorgeous too! Service was very friendly and we got the feeling the staff enjoyed working here. Ambiance was very warm and loved the decor and the large booth we were seated in. Cafe Landwer was established in 1919 Berlin so it really had a unique vibe to the place. Lots of locations in Toronto so I look forward to returning.

Pierina guided us via phone and even came outside of the restaurant and waved as we approached. That was awesome Customer service as well as kindness. Ambiance was chill inside. Especially liked the artwork and table with their name on it. I had the Nutella latte, Nutella and strawberry waffle, and a side of sausage. Didn't like the sausage at all (tasted a bit gamey) but that's probably because ein the states there are nitrates, etc that make it taste better. No biggie! She switched it out for bacon, and that was fine and appreciated. My sister had the breakfast tacos that looked delicious and she really enjoyed. All in all this was a great pick and I would return when im Canada ever again and I'm in the area. Keep up the great work, Pierina. Her welcoming attitude attentiveness and knowledge of the menu was stellar and warrants recognition. Thank you!!!

The almond croissant, when you're lucky enough to claim one before nine, delivers a genuinely impressive balance of shattering, buttery layers and a filling laced generously with almond cream, more Parisian in spirit than most bakeries attempting the same feat across this city. Even the raspberry version, when available, carries the same confident hand in the kitchen. The coffee program deserves equal praise. A well pulled latte and a properly balanced cappuccino suggest a team that treats espresso with the same seriousness as their pastry case, and it shows in the cup. Where the experience finds room to grow is in the choreography of the space itself. The room is petite, charming in its cobalt blue framed way, but the flow between ordering and pickup can feel cramped during a rush, and seating fills quickly. The patio, however, is a genuine reward, a shaded perch worth claiming on a slow afternoon. This is a cafe operating with real ambition and skill, let down only occasionally by its own popularity. Arrive early, claim a croissant while you still can, and settle onto the patio; you'll leave understanding exactly why regulars keep coming back.

The line moved quick, even though it wrapped around, we waited for about 20 minutes only. The menu has some cool items, a few fusion dishes and trendy items. Awesome presentation and definitely Instagram worthy. I got the huevos rancheros, it was more like an egg burrito with beans, sauce and potatoes on top. The potatoes were probably my favourite out of everything. It was good but not the traditional you would expect. My friends sadly did not like their eggs benedict. The coffee was also average, not very strong or fragrant. Service was absolutely terrible. Our sever took so long to come, we see him just chatting in the corner. Food (3.5/5) - the menu is a combination of small and large plates ideal for sharing. A cosmopolitan menu of diverse items from many different cuisines. - Baja Caesar Salad - baby romaine, corn, caesar dressing, agave bacon, croutons, grana padano, chili spice. This was pretty good, romaine was fresh and sauce not too overpowering with a slight kick to it. - Coconut Shrimp with mango salsa, lime, chipotle aioli. Also pretty good... shrimp was cooked fine and the garnishes worked with it. - Tuna Ceviche with avocado, cilantro, corn, red onions, leche de tigre, cancha, plantain. This one was average. The sashimi chunks were pretty average and the overall mix seemed to lack flavour and moistness. - Hamachi Crudo with avocado, elderflower, pickled strawberry, jalapeño, pistachio, basil, olive oil. This was one pretty bad... some of the worst hamachi I have ever had! Overly fishy and off-colour. Service (4/5) - server and assistants were friendly and generally attentive. Some lapses in check ins from time to time. Rooftop is first come, first serve so a reservation does not mean you will be seated quickly and may have to hang out in the interior bar or tables until ready. Atmosphere (4.75/5) - you really cannot top the view from Kost. It has multiple look out areas besides the patio dining area by the infinity pool. They have a raised photo pedestal which is ideal to take pictures with the Tower, Rogers Centre and lake in the background. They also have some trendy couches and sitting areas as well. The interior dining area is also pretty good with window views outside and a California vibe to it. Overall (4/5) - Yes, the food is on the average side for the price. However, it really is a great atmosphere for dining, even if sitting inside. It is a bucket list destination at a minimum and worth a repeat imo.

They definitely could've used some more seasoning. The pancakes were good with maple syrup- I think the fruit topping was delicious. The pancakes themselves were a little on the drier side but the fruit made them tastier. The ambiance and vibe of the restaurant definitely made the experience worth it.
