My small bite of the sandwich still there after being 'remade' and visibly darker/burnt bread and fries also after being 'remade'.

Terrible. I was in by myself and opted to sit at the bar for some quiet. Ordered the halloumi and zaatar sandwich with fries. I have had this dish before from a different branch downtown more than once and know when done right it is really good. But alas, I received it ice cold, even the fries. I had two fries and took a small bite out of the sandwich because I was trying to convince myself maybe it just seems cold and it's not that bad, but it tasted like it was sitting at the window for the last half hour. The halloumi was obviously pre-fried, extra rubbery and sitting until someone ordered the sandwich & the toasted bread was cold. It was just very sloppily put together. I normally hate to complain EVER and typically don't but if I am paying over twenty dollars for a mere sandwich, it should be done right at the very least, so I asked for it to be remade and I told the server verbatim, " if you guys are busy I understand, I am in no rush, take your time and I'll wait for it to be redone properly". Server comes back a few minutes later with visibly less, darker fries on the plate and a much darker sandwich. I asked him, " was the sandwich redone or just reheated?" He says "redone". Of course it is now actually hot but almost burnt because they did not remake it, they just reheated it and lied about it. My small bite out of the sandwich was staring at me as the server said "redone". Not a big deal to me coz I hate being wasteful as long as it's my sandwich, but I did not care for being lied to. I also know that with the components inside that specific sandwich, reheating is not the best idea as some components like the labneh & tomatoes are typically intended to stay cold-ish. Server also never came back to check on how the 're-fired' dish was. I had planned to stay longer and order more food and a drink but I will never come back here again. I gave two stars (I had originally planned on giving one only) because the server was apologetic after I told him what happened. The plate was so obviously reheated (fries and sandwich were visibly darker plus the bitten portion was obvious) so I find it hard to believe he wasn't aware. He offered me a variation of the drink I planned to order later on the house, which I appreciated, but honestly, I'd rather pay for good food/service rather than have my experience ruined and then get comped.

Always loved this place, coffee roast is premium and the food flavours are great. I'm a fan of most of their food but noticed sizes shrank while prices went up. Despite the photo I took, which made lunch look generous on this tiny table. The side salad for my Shashuka seemed almost like a garnish, and the pan is huge but the two eggs nestled in shallow sauce than previous. Sandwiches seem lighter in filling but are still delish for the roast beef or schnitzel. Still coming back here if in the area but it's not portioned or priced like before.

I was underwhelmed with Cafe Landwer. The inside is quite cute, and gives off retro vibes. It is decorated nicely and is warm and inviting. The service wasn't great. There was no initiative taken by the waitress to top up our water; I had to flag her down and ask each time for a refill. Lastly, the food was just ok. I ordered the Sinia kebab. The entire dish lacked flavour, especially the meat. Cafe Landwer is probably be a cute spot for a date/coffee but not if you'd like a full meal.

Food was fine - pricy for the portions but overall tasty. Issue was the waitlist system. I'm not sure if it was an issue with Yelp or if the restaurant, but we joined the online waitlist 30 minutes ahead of time (estimate was 10:02-10:17am) and still had to wait 50 minutes for our table (10:50am). You have to check in in-person and your whole table has to be seated for you to actually be "on their list". Disappointing as we planned ahead of time!

Kebab shakshouka with challah bread and salad

Service here is great! Loved the ambiance and it's a very popular spot. They have many many options when it comes to food. We chose the kebab shakshouka with challah bread and salad which all tastes amazing. Also got a halloumi sandwich which was probably the best and big portion! And got the protein packed Omlette with potatos and challah which was okay..was a small Omlette with not too much protein added in it. I would come back and try more here though. The place was clean and washrooms were as well. Nice location too.

Another good spot for breakfast, coffee and lunches dinner. The interior is spacious with high ceilings, with a nice vibe. Their bread naans are freshly baked. Foods are fresh and tasty with good portion. Also offering afternoon tea snacks, will come back for snacks .

This is the best Cafe Landwer location I have been to ever! Love the ability to put myself on the waitlist using Yelp while I am at home and en route to there. I have used this feature several times for brunch to avoid waiting forever for a table. The service is also really good and attentive with regards to refilling of water/coffee. Food is also consistently good no matter what dish I have ordered! -[MEZZA PLATTER] $24.95 Falafel (3 pieces), hummus (you can even see whole chickpeas because it's homemade), smoked eggplant dip (visually looked the worst but had the best and most delicious flavor), labaneh with olives (a milder dip to balance out the rest of the dips) and artichoke and spinach dip (this dip has a garlic tinge in the best way(. Served with 3 pitas. SO glad I tried this instead of ordering my normal dishes because this was amazing! Give it a try because each dip portion is very generous. -[FRENCH FRIES] $5 I always like to get a side of fries to soak up the rest of the sauce/dip that this place makes haha. I just can't leave the plate/bowl with any left, you know? Their fries are pretty solid in that they are crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and perfectly seasoned -[LARGE LATTE] $5.25 Ordered this at one of the downtown locations and boy oh boy was it bitter. The latte at this location had such smooth espresso that I happily sipped it in between bites of the mezza platter :D -[JERUSALEM GRILLED SANDWICH] $15.95 Mozzarella, matbucha (is a Moroccan Jewish condiment consisting of cooked tomatoes and roasted bell peppers seasoned with garlic and chili pepper), za'atar and a hard boiled egg on a Jerusalem bun. Served with pesto mayo dip and a side salad. Goodness me, this sandwich was very delicious and creamy in the best ways! Almost like a really delicious pizza-flavored sandwich if you ask me

This place was packed but we managed to get a table fairly quickly. The staff was nice but the wait was long. We ordered: Mediterranean Shakshouka Smoked Salmon Sandwich Angel hair pasta rose Chicken schnitzel The smoked salmon sandwich was good but I wouldn't recommend the other two.

Peach Bread Pudding. Bring me six more of these!!!

A wide variety of choices on the menu. I started with the BBQ Pulled Beef sandwich on soft buttery challah bun. Amazing. It was gone in about 2 minutes. I had subbed sweet potato fries, probably the crispiest I have ever enjoyed. I took most of them home to share with the family, primarily to make room for desert. It rare to see bread pudding on a menu. It's one of my faves, and this one was totally out of control. The bread was soaked in a silky custard, drizzled with caramel and topped with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream. Served in a hot cast iron pan, it was a race to eat before the ice cream melted. No, I didn't take any of that home. I am going back frequently. There is a lot on the menu to explore.

Beef kabab option but it was dry so recommend don't get this one. Rest was great.

The waiting time is two hours before getting a table. It took an hour to get the food and taste was bad.

Expectation wise? Don't expect Michelin star chefs or fancy interiors. It's a very humble setup in a non-traditional office building with staff who go the extra mile to assist customers. My pasta was made on the spot by the same person who took my order and made my espresso. He was a very honest, hard worker who served customers while making the food and drinks from scratch. I watched him meticulously cleaning all the cooking equipment, espresso machine, countertops, surfaces, and cleaning the floors after serving his customers. I was very impressed by his work ethic and dedication. I tried the penne pasta with mushroom and sausage topped with Alfredo sauce. It came with garlic bread and salad. Their number one ordered meal. So good! The penne pasta with rossa sauce (rose sauce) came with chicken and mushrooms. I prefer the Alfredo sauce as it was rich creamy and delicious. However what made my experience a good one was the hospitality and attentiveness of the staff. In today's fast food world, good service warrants a higher star rating!

The space itself is bright, cozy, and modern. It's great for a casual brunch. The menu focuses on creative takes on classic brunch dishes, with most plates around $18-$25 and drinks about $6-$9. We tried the pork sausage shakshouka, pork jowl eggs benny, and a strawberry matcha latte. The drink was a standout--refreshing, nicely layered, and not overly sweet. The dishes themselves had good flavors and promising concepts. Unfortunately, the experience started off rough. Despite having a reservation, we waited over 30 minutes for a table during the busy Saturday brunch rush, and parking around the plaza was difficult. When the food arrived, the eggs in both the eggs benny and the shakshouka were overcooked, which was disappointing since runny yolks are key to both dishes. Overall, Corner Cafe has a nice vibe and an interesting brunch menu, but the long wait, tough parking, and inconsistent execution made the experience fall short this time.

It's nice that there is one in Richmond hill now as the other location was near Markville before. Service 4/5 wasn't too busy when we went in afternoon. Easy to be seated, staff are attentive. Food 4/5 Eggs Benedict with Smoke Salmon was great. The chicken fettucine with spinach was also very tasty. The portions are comparable for a GTA uptown location. Will definitely revisit to try the rest of the menu.
