Each employee must have a gym membership as everyone is dang fit; washboard abs, toned and defined triceps are the norm here. Thin and healthy-shape, yes, skinny nope. A coffee costs more than other cafes ($6) but it is worth it if the money helps subsidize their gym memberships, lol. I've been to Café Lu about 3 times so far and I'm no coffeeshop expert. Each of the first two times, I told myself that I wouldn't come back just because nothing actually made me want to come back. That was until I went on Friday with my buddy (his suggestion). As soon as we walked in, the gorgeous Jenny Nguyen greeted us. And boy, I would have never guessed how cool she was. She talked to us as if we were friends and not just customers. That's definitely a huge plus for me, because I'm tired of the artificial service lots of places give. Definitely felt really welcomed, producing an overall great time. After a little while, Jenny told us that she makes the best smoothies and of course, I had to put her to her word. Visited my friend in OC recently, and he took me to some of the local coffee shops we used to hang out at before I moved to NV. Before we arrived, I thought it was a new coffee shop that I have never been to previously, but it turned out to be one of the ones we frequented a few years back. I guess since none of the girls that we used to see there a few years ago are still there, it is "new". Are the girls hot? Yes, most of them are, and there tends to be more girls compared to their competitors. Besides looking arousing, most of the girls didn't smile much and mostly make their rounds refilling partially empty glasses of water or tea then congregating behind the counter. Their behavior will likely be friendlier if they see you often enough to recognize that you are a regular. The crowd that frequent here tend to be younger, and maybe even more thugish than some of the customers that hang out at the other ones. Although I have to say that I have never been at any of the coffee shops when fights broke out or worst. The ambiance of the place feels more club-like, with music blaring loudly for the crowd, as they play various card games pretending not to notice the numerous slender waitresses in bikinis, lingeries or body paint. Can't say that I am a fan of this place's ambiance nowadays. The coffee drinks are comparable to other vietnamese coffee shops, but the smoothies are hit and miss. As far as coffee shops with eye candy viewing goes, it is A-OK. NEVER GIVE THE TIPS TO THE CASHIER. They will steal it from the waitresses. I'm giving this place a 1 star because I caught the cashier/owner stealing tips from the girls. Terrible terrible terrible service!! The food is straight up garbage. I first come in, the only cook that can cook food is going on an hour break, I could only order drinks. I had. I choice to get something to drink even tho I just wanted food. I got he Vietnamese coffee, first thing I notice, ice stacked to the brim of the cup. 3-4 sips later it's pretty much all gone. 30minutes go by and I kindly ask one if the waitress and explained to her if it was okay to get another coffee as I'm forced to wait an hour for the cook to come back, she's like yeah sure. Sure enough even after I ordered all the microwave food, they still changed me twice for 2 coffees, the refill was worst than the first 12 bucks for that, no big deal but they HUSTLEESEee you here. If you're not Asian, they don't care bout you. The rude rude rude lady cashier I think she's co owner was soooooo rude as I explained, she just said you're not the only one that had to wait, everyone's waits, don't complain. I'm shocked about the service here, how dirty it is, first and last time here. People only come here for the entertainment of the woman wearing skimpy stuff... how sad.. and the girls.. nothing to even brag about. Although, PAMELA she can get 5 stars and she deserves lots of credit, she made fries for me and was so sweet and had he most gentle voice, I feel like she could have the power to run this establishment and help them excel. Don't come here if you're a woman (obviously). My friend wanted to take me here and I obliged because I was curious to see what the hype was about. I love the female body don't get me wrong. We sat down and ordered a couple smoothies. I'm looking around and admiring the women. But to my disappointment, none of the girls approached or interacted with us. Most of them were sitting at other tables with groups of customers. The only interaction we had was when we were getting our drink order taken and even then the girl who served us wasn't very warm and inviting. No smile, just a quick "okay I'll get your drinks" in the least welcoming voice. I'm only giving this place 2 stars instead of 1 because after about 30 minutes, two girls eventually sat with us but that's because my friend had to flag them down and ask if they would like to sit. I was going to tip them but after about 5 minutes they ended up going elsewhere to clean/do other things and never came back. The smoothies were okay, a little diluted but I liked that the glass mugs were full to the brim and the drink was thick and slushy like. One of the girls made her "special" yea rounds. She came over to our table and asked me if I have ever been to a titty bar. I said no, to which she replied "The female body is a very beautiful thing." Okay, I know that. Thanks for telling me? Sounded like there were some sassy undertones there. She never smiled. I had a bitter impression from that interaction. Her name is Christine. I later realized that it's possible that the reason the girls interact with larger groups or groups of two or more men is simply that they know they can get more tips out of them rather than interacting with a single customer or a customer who has a female companion (they probably thought I was my friend's gf or something). Pretty sure the fact that they didn't really approach us was due in part to me being a female. We did get an occasional "Are you guys doing okay?" so that was nice. Courtney was one of the ladies who sat down with us. She was nice and talkative. But like I said, my friend had to flag someone down. I had an amazing time here! The girls were easily 10's! They were wearing classy lingerie and i was made to feel welcomed. Not lile my experience at cafe 168. The exact opposite. The only thing was that there were only 2 girls there. Im sure that was because of the time of day on a Sunday. I will be back here! read more
