I think, I want a MASSIVE PORTION of fruit and protein, and I want it fast. An energy boost that says "yeah I eat fruits and consider myself an average produce consumer" Would it help me out more if I ate fruits whole more regularly? Sure. Would I probably benefit to consume more Vitamin filled produce. Sure again. This place makes it that much easier to consume massive amounts of necessary nutrients, for a relatively affordable price. There's a reason this place only has 3 stars. If I could give 0 stars I would. 1 star is being generous. Horrible customer service to say the least. I got a smoothie there that I've gotten before. This time when I got it I spit out my first sip because it tasted like the produce they used was spoiled and it was unbearable to drink or even smell. I'm not a picky eater by any means and this was absolutely unbearable. I asked for an exchange for a new smoothie and they absolutely refused to make it right. They said, "We'll have to charge you full price for a new smoothie." I tried to reason with them but the manager at the time was rude to me. He was a heavy set guy with glasses. What made it worse was the complete lack of accountability. No apology, no effort to check the ingredients, no attempt to offer a solution. Just attitude. As a paying customer, I expected at the very least some basic courtesy and a willingness to fix a clear issue. Instead, I was treated like I was trying to get something for free. I definitely would not recommend this place to anyone expecting decent customer service or fresh ingredients (Unless you like fermented smoothies). Drove by on a hot day so need some cold smoothie to cool off. It's a nice spot since it right on the corner of the red lights. It's a both walking and drive through. Clean and easy parking lot. Went in and it's nice and clean inside, nice and good choices. Easy ordered with friendly staff. Got my drink and it was good, perfect to cold off. The first time I ever came to Tropical Smoothie Cafe, I swore I would never come back. That's honestly how gross I thought the smoothies were. I tried again a couple of years later... same feeling. Nothing stood out. Fast-forward to when my fiancé was working and coaching at Fountain Valley High School, & I was always in the area, always at the school with him, so I gave it another chance purely out of convenience. Again, the smoothies were just mediocre. I even tried a breakfast wrap (which I had zero interest in) and a salad, and neither were anything that made me want to return. Then one morning, running late before work, this location was literally my last drive thru option before turning into my work parking lot. On a whim, I ordered a Bahama Mama bowl... and they accidentally gave me a Bahama Mama smoothie instead. BEST. ACCIDENT. EVER. That smoothie completely changed my mind. It is now my go to order, and I've never switched it up since. I also tried their chicken Caesar salad wrap, and WOW!!!! it's genuinely one of my favorite wraps to this day. I now go out of my way just to come here for that wrap alone. I've tried a few other items like the three cheese chicken quesadilla it's okay, definitely more kid friendly. If you have an adult palate, it might feel a little underwhelming for the price. That said, all sandwiches, salads, wraps, and flatbreads come with a side (chips or fruit), which is always nice. Customer service here is 10/10, the inside is clean, the drive thru is quick, & their rewards program is awesome. I'm genuinely so glad I kept coming back despite my earlier experiences. What you feel you get from paying this price is the ease of it being a drive-thru and, you get full off the size to satisfy your hunger. Alternatively, they also have food options. The Peanut Butter Breakfast Wrap with bananas is a great quick breakfast option if you need protein. However, their Acai Bowls I'd rank at the worst due to the granola they use. The granola they use is perfectly paired for their peanut butter wrap, although to put as a base to hold fruits in an Acai Bowl, it doesn't work because Acai is already sweet. Adding the Granola they use with honey, it is a full-blown sugar rush that makes you want to down a liter of water. And the texture of the granola in the Acai Bowl is more like crushed Grahm Crackers. I felt that we wasted $20. I would never buy their Acai Bowls if they continue to use this granola. I hope they can use a better brand of granola such as the Hemp Granola or one that is not so grainey and sweet. Overall, you go to Tropical Smoothie Cafe for what it is known for which is their smoothies which are exceptionally delicious and top notch. read more

There's not indoor seating here which is kind of a bummer, so you have to take it to go or eat outside with the sights and sounds of traffic. But even that does not bring this down to less than 5 stars. I got a smoothie that was so delicious and a breakfast flatbread that fueled me for a big day. It was honestly so good that then while waiting for an Uber, I went back inside and ordered a second!! The first time I had this Oatmeal Chia Pudding bowl was a few months ago and it was delicious. At the time it was priced at around $11.99-12.99, which I thought was kind of expensive considering it was a small bowl and if you compare it with some other açaí places, you probably get more paying that price, but it was yummy and I felt it was worth a treat once in a while. Fast forward to April, I came back after my gym workout to get one and I noticed the price changed to $10.99 and the other bowls priced $9.99. My Oatmeal Chia Pudding Bowl looked great and packed, however, the taste was lacking from my other experience. Oatmeal was undercooked and flavorless-- still chewy, the yogurt chia pudding and oatmeal wasn't blended well together like first time I had it. It was more like they layered the different ingredients on top of each other and I can taste it like night and day vs it being more of a pudding consistency like the first time I had it. Lowkey sad. Needless to say, I probably won't get this again. The ingredients did taste fresh and good quality though. Service was fine. It wasn't busy, so the wait wasn't too long. I've always loved tropical smoothie but every single one of them near me closed. I happened to stumble upon one while I was in Vegas and realized how much I missed it so when I came home I did a search to find the one closest to me. It was about 30 minutes away but definitely worth the drive. When I pulled up I was a little crabby because it was very crowded and I figured it was going to take forever but i was wrong. The 4 gentleman working behind the counter were absolutely fantastic and did not stop. The service was so quick, the food was absolutely delicious (that chicken Caesar wrap hits different) and my forever favorite, the paradise point smoothie was so tasty! I also had my 83 year old mother with me (she can be a little picky at times and doesn't usually like stuff like smoothies and wraps, but she is already asking to go back. And now just by writing this review, I already want to go back! I wish there were more tropical smoothie locations around Orange County, this place is doing it right! I have never seen such a horrible, disgusting work environment between coworkers it was honestly saddening. While in the drive thru I heard an older guy who was a worker yell at his younger female coworker, basically bullying her. I heard how she was simply asking about when to go home and he straight up told her to stop talking. I've overheard things like this multiple times in the past when I've come here and it's honestly saddening that the owner of this establishment lets this happen. I will not ever be coming here again and will make sure to warn people I know to not go to a place that lets people talk so horribly to others. read more
