Came here for a weekend brunch while in the area and overall I think this is a great neighborhood brunch option. Restaurant isn't too big but feels roomy, light, and cozy. During nicer weather, there's a nice uncovered backyard to sit that is pet friendly. Very casual ambiance that also seems good for families. I ordered the below: -Madi's Sausage Egg & Cheese: it has the name in it, so it's a must order. Great breakfast sandwich. Egg was not runny but I'm sure you could ask. Gooey cheese, soft roll, flavorful meat, and a unique (but not overpowering sauce). -Le Caesar: pretty standard but exactly what I wanted. -Fries: GET THESE. Super skinny and crispy. Sooo addicting I honestly would come back just for these. -French Toast: has potential but wasn't my favorite solely because it was too "wet" for my preference. Looks griddled on the outside but the actual bread was superrrrr soggy and didn't feel cooked through. Pieces are very small so better to share with other things if hungry!

Very cool spot, CS is GREAT, young lady is super friendly and knowledgeable. Great food, Great Ambiance and very Clean and Relaxing. I would definitely go back on my next visit to Brooklyn

Great to see the team from Oxalis back! Came here with a friend last night and tried 5 dishes and there were no misses, including the cabbage and wild rice, among others. They change the menu so often that it's not necessarily worth it to get into the specifics, but that is one of the best things about this place - they keep you coming back for more! I really enjoyed the wine selection as well. There was a funny moment where we talked about the music being a bit too loud and it was lowered exactly one second later. Overall recommend and will be back!

Soo delish! Ive been here now for both their brunch and dinner and honestly prefer their brunch way more. I think the dinner felt a bit underwhelming in terms of taste, still delicious nonetheless! Just sounded better on menu than how it tasted Highly recommend for brunch / lunch though as I reallyyy loved the menu during this time. Everything was just so light and fresh yet unique taste to everything!

This is a very nice spot close to the Brooklyn Museum. There's seating inside and out back. The kitchen is upfront and I liked that you could see how clean it was and also talk to the chef. They use fresh, local ingredients, so the menu changes often. We enjoyed the smoked turkey sandwich (wish it had more cheese) and the woodear/cucumber salad. I liked that the French fries were fresh cut, but i would have preferred them to be thicker and browned. We ordered at the register and they brought the food to us, but didn't clear dishes as we finished eating. Note: they run out of pastries early. It seemed like their coffee is very popular.

Came by to get a little bite. This was my first time here very hudden wouldn't even knew it was here. It has inside and a little outside seating. The ambiance of the place gives a little French spot in Brooklyn. I had the Cesar salad was truly amazing the best I have ever had better than Carbones if you know you know. My drink was delightful and the sandwich was good. The French fries were good but a tad salty to me. The service was good waitress was pleasant and it was a cool and relaxing spot to just grab a bite to eat.

This was excellent, especially the bread/butter, butter bean puree, and cavatelli. We also loved the oxtail and carrots. We'd probably skip the caesar next time around. I did prefer their other restaurant (Place Des Fetes) significantly more.

Overall rating:4.9 Omg, absolutely obsessed. My friend suggested this place & so happy to have brought it into my life. The FOOD IS SO GOOD OMG. The decor is airy and beautiful. I obviously did research before and here's what I got. - Cappuccino: delicious but with 2x sugars! - The Tony: this is so highly recommended I was actually pretty concerned with getting it because it looked overrated. But wow was I surprised. OMG delicious! - Le Caesar: GET IT. It is so simple I know. I can't believe this costs exist. But it's soo good. - Pici (?) - you'll have to tell based on the picture - Watermelon mocktail - did not taste like watermelon - Pink cocktail: can't remember what this is, but my friend said it's good! My only critique on why it's not a 5 is because the service got so spotty at one point. Usually before waiters leave or change shifts, they tell you. We lost ours toward the end and it felt impossible to order more or even get our check.

I went with a friend to the restaurant's one year celebration garden party. I have to say that it was perfect from the food (sampling of what was served over the past year), wine (white and rose) and service! Very attentive staff! The restaurant is lovely with a garden in the back. I went when this place was Oxalis but have not been to this new iteration. The garden party has changed my mind and I will definitely explore it soon!

Pasta dish with pesto - can't recall the name. It was fantastic - we ordered it twice.

I loved everything about this place. Its small door opening is deceiving because when you walk to the back is like a garden oasis. We stopped her for lunch. The plates are not large but delicious with flavor. We had the pasta dish, fries, salad that changes regularly, sausage egg and cheese sandwich, chocolate chip cookie, chocolate sponge cake. We ordered the pasta twice it was that delicious. The chocolate sponge cake was a surprise in every bite. There was a bit of caramel, raspberry and lovely whip cream. The service was attentive and pleasant. We stayed for a while and were not rushed. When I visit NYC again, I be sue to the dinner.

I am very skeptical of brunch and have maybe never been to a brunch spot that really inspired me. Until now. We love their sister restaurant so we were excited to try this. We loved everything. The menu isn't terribly large so I was a bit nervous. A table nearby got the pomme paillasson, which we probably wouldn't have gotten without seeing first how delicious it looked. It's a fancy hashbrown, fine. But the aioli is outrageous. I would've bought this by the pound. And we subsequently put it on everything else we could. The Caesar was one of the best we've ever had. Each leaf was delicately dressed in the flavorful dressing. Lovely texture to each of the leaves that we could individually grab and enjoy. Turkey, poblano, avocado was nice. Probably the least interesting but still so good. Not a HUGE focaccia fan but, again, with the aioli from before it was great. Ended with the sausage, egg, & cheese sandwich at the recommendation of our waiter. This was lovely. The sausage was not your average sausage and had really nice kick to it. The drinks were delicious, maybe even better than we were expecting. The place itself has such a nice ambiance that's not overwhelming despite having a ton of tables. Dropped by Laurel on the way out, of course. While again the menu wasn't so extensive, if we needed brunch in the area I would consider coming back.

Lovely restaurant, warm friendly atmosphere, great staff, wonderful food, honestly everything I could ask for. I highly recommend their jasmine pear drink, which is one of my favorite drinks I've ever been served in a restaurant (used to get it every time I went to Oxalis and I was delighted to find that Cafe Mado continued it). Went for lunch and enjoyed everything we got-- Caesar salad was fresh and well dressed, spicy salami sandwich had amazing flavors, and we got these fried hashbrown-esque things that were delish as well. Finished off on this guava-crepe dish (forget the name) that took a while to make (waited like 20 min for it) but was the perfect end to the meal. Picked up a chocolate chip cookie on the way out which heated up perfectly in the microwave. Would like to try more of their lunch menu next time (especially the other sandwiches!) as well go for dinner sometime.

Super cute & great location near the park. The coffee and food were yummy. I love a butter bean dip. Service was okay - they kind of forgot about us once the food was served. We had asked for an extra piece of bread for the remainder of the dip and never received it - also took forever to get the check. Didn't drink but the wine list was intriguing. The couple next to us looked like they enjoyed the selection. I think next time it would be nice to get the food to go and eat in the park instead.

After running a couple of errands while waiting for the table to be ready, we were seated outside at the patio after an hour and 45 minutes. We ordered the famous honey butter pancakes, the korean wings, and the breakfast sandwich with hash brown, scrambled eggs, and sausage. The honey butter pancakes were pretty good but kinda drenched in the butter that made it hard to finish. The korean wings were also alright but the batter to me was kinda thick and heavy and lacked crispiness. The best item we ordered was the breakfast sandwich with hashbrown, scrambled eggs, and sausage. I think the eggs are cooked with cheese, and as someone who typically does not eat cheese, I didn't mind it. I don't know if I'll be back again - I think the concept of an asian twist on the classic diner does sound intriguing but difficult to execute. I also wasn't a big fan of the wait time. If you typically like heavier, diner food then this spot might be the place for you!

This spot has a handful of tables and while we were there, quite a few to-go orders were picked up as well. Though we were the only diners, so I assume it's more of a breakfast/brunch spot. The menu is rather expansive with options from breakfast to lunch and dinner. After studying the menu, we opted for the Veggie Burger and the Meatball Parm Po'Boy. Our food was ready in about 20 minutes, which seemed a little long as we were the only diners, but we were not in a rush so it was fine. As the restaurant was unassuming, I honestly had pretty low expectations, but we both really enjoyed our meals. It was definitely large portions and really flavorful. My fiance said the Meatball Parm Po'Boy was delicious and I appreciated that the veggie burger seemed to be made in house as it was falling apart (in a good way) and you could distinguish some of the veggies. I ended up only eating about half of my burger and took the rest for lunch the next day and it held up well.

We ordered a fresh fruit platter for dessert. It included watermelon, mango, grapes, apples, strawberries, etc. very nice, well presented. The dining area certainly belies what happens in that kitchen behind the door. I'll be back to try some more simple, but excellent food.

While they have all the traditional breakfast fare, I was so happy to see it also had a Caribbean twist to it. Lastly, we got a Caribbean omelet. My rice and pernil was solid. The rice could've used a tad bit more seasoning but when mixed with the side of beans and plantains plus a drizzle of hot sauce it was perfect. They had a variety of sauces--Tabasco (my fave), a Jamaican one that was super spicy, and a mild homemade one. The tres/quatro golpes was also a hearty choice with mangu (mashed plantain), sausage, fried cheese, and eggs. The pickled red onion balanced everything out. The fried cheese is similar to a halloumi but I think it's a bit more flavorful. All the flavors just melt together in your mouth perfectly. The French toast and omelet were good. I'd say the Caribbean items stole the show though. The place has a typical diner vibe and is on the small side. Food was served quickly and service was good. Discount if you pay in cash.
