This place is bougie and not very commercial with more city, but is extremely amazing quality and the staff is tremendous!! The cortado is my go to with a coffee to go and I love the banana bread. Don't forget about the roaster that is about 20 steps before the shop that sells coffee beans and merch. Let's set aside for a second that we were ignored so that two baristas and a customer could chat about whatever MLM they're currently hocking as a side gig for several minutes and address the actual problem: There's no coffee in their coffee. Upon being told they don't have cold brew because "there's a coffee shortage" (?? Cold brew is just.... coffee steeped overnight in the fridge instead of via drip but okay. If you're brewing a concentrate, then it would be diluted so....) we ordered iced lattes which were basically just milk and flavoring. We took two sips and put them in the trash. Luckily the coffee shortage doesn't appear to affect Starbucks, because we were able to acquire cold brews there. I bypassed some delicious-looking French pastries on my to order my coffee. (However, while in Key Largo I suggest you try Harriette's Cafe for their 30+ types of muffins. This cafe was nice and quaint, service was good. I'm not much of a coffee person, but gf got a drink and we got a few items to snack on before our day in the keys. We're from California, so we appreciate nice little cafes. Especially enjoy the prices, considering of course in California, we have to decide whether to eat or have coffee. Just messing but yeah prices are reasonable here so that's a plus. Aesthetic of the cafe is nice and recommend for a quick grab and go or to relax inside. What pleasant surprise as we arrived at Café mocha it was a sweet little café. Inside of a small white bungalow. Their menu consisted of avocado toast, overnight oats, quiches , a banana toast with almond butter, ham and cheese, croissants and many many other delights. We were told to try the almond croissant, and it was smooth flakey and delicious. They did not scrimp on the almond paste, which is what I really like. The ham, cheese and egg croissant was my husband's choice and he said it was very good. He said it was very good, but it could've used just a little more salt, but you could easily add yourself. This is definitely a must stop at place especially if you're heading to the airport and wanted to bring some French pastries home with you. Warm greetings were shared as we entered by the staff. Stopped by Cafe Moka in Tavernier this morning for a Java pick me up... cute location in a small house located on US 1. Staff were friendly, and service was great. We had a couple of large lattes, which were good, but could have been more hot when served. We also ordered one of the almond croissants, which was delicious, but a bit overcooked in our opinion. Spent $117 on pre-made breakfast items and asked if my frozen croissants could be warmed up. The cashier, Alex, immediately said no because the owner wants customers to experience "French authenticity." Apparently that includes serving frozen croissants. The manager actually agreed to warm them up, but Alex jumped in to stop her and told her they weren't allowed to. The manager then backed down. Found this cute coffee shop that roast their own beans so we figured we stopped by! It's adorable inside, but a bit hot inside - they have fans going but high ceilings and no insulation. I ordered an ice Lavendar honey coffee, a bit disappointed. Lots of milk and light on the flavor. My husband ordered a cortado (double shot) and wrong cup used, lots of milk too. We ordered ham egg and cheese croissants, also a bit lacking. The egg was microwaved, lacked salt and dry. For the price I was expecting more. I do recommend their almond croissant, it was absolutely delicious! I know their breads, treats, and everything in their counter is homemade and looked sooooo good. The staff is wonderful and is always ready to serve you with a smile! It's so good that there is never not a line, but it's 100% worth the short wait! Since they moved a few years ago I've gone here less, but they've moved into a sweet cozy spot. Kind of hidden and smaller than their old joint. Their prices have climbed and are way too expensive. Two iced coffees and a croissant being $18 in the keys is a crime. The coffees were ok but not worth such an expensive unfortunately. The workers were kind but not memorable. After a long ride from Orlando to the keys and in desperate need of a coffee, entering this establishment was very unwelcoming. My dad which had a water bottle and a chip bag of trash went to throw it out in the trash can upon arrival. The staff was telling him to put in on their counter instead of the trash which was easily accessible to customers. My dad didn't think they were talking to him so he threw it out anyway and apologized after. One of the front desk with purple hair and a slick mouth said "or don't listen I guess" which was not necessary seeing as it wasn't a big deal that he was throwing out trash instead of leaving it around the establishment and him apologizing. On top of the service immediately being negative, the caramel iced lattes were all milk and living in a Cuban household I know when there isn't coffee in my drink. My only good review was receiving two free deserts from another embarrassed staff member that saw the negative interaction. In essence, cute aesthetic but that's all. read more
