Super cute hidden gem of a cafe! I stumbled upon this spot on my way home from The Keys. Funny story, I was looking for the Little Free Library which happens to be located at the cafe. But I also needed coffee for my 3 hour drive home. Midway Cafe & Coffee Bar is open daily @ 7am-2pm. I literally caught them just in time at 1:45pm right before closing. The spot is mad cute with a whimsical vibe and lots of fun colors. They sell cute merch and food. There is plenty of seating out on the back patio and indoors. They offer food and drinks. We had breakfast-omelet with Swiss, mushrooms, and caramelized onions - delicious and packed with veggies. We also had breakfast burritos at the table - large portions yet they could have benefited from a pop of spicy zest if that's your preference. Happened to find this great breakfast café on Yelp and we could not have been more pleased. This lil place sits right off the Overseas Highway and offers a great menu of delightful breakfast and lunch items. In addition they offer gluten free items, dairy free and vegan options. Their espresso bar is top notch with so many options. I went with the Breakfast Burrito which was mighty filling and of course I had to try their Matcha. Prices were very reasonable and affordable. We were able to sit outside on their colorful and cute patio. Temps were perfect at the end of October. My breakfast was very satisfying and flavorful. Service was "Florida Friendly". We rode bikes from the hotel to this little breakfast spot up the road. It's such a cute little place - it's very cramped inside, so we settled for the cute little picnic tables outside. Memorial Day at the sandbar in Key Largo is always a highlight for us--perfect weather, good friends, and great vibes. Exploring the Keys means discovering new restaurants, and found Midway Cafe, a perfect stop on our way home. It's convenient for boaters since it's right off the road with trailer parking space, which was a huge plus. We arrived just before the rush, ordered at the counter, and found a seat inside. I loved the egg pita with spinach, tomatoes, goat cheese, and bacon. Others raved about their breakfast burrito--big, hearty, and packed with roasted potatoes and pepper jack. The Cuban sandwich and Club Wrap were also big hits at the table. They also have an extensive coffee, smoothie and dessert menu. My iced coffee with coconut milk was the perfect pair to our blueberry scone and iced bun. It's a chill spot with a relaxed vibe--great food and easy parking. What a GEM! Everyone and everything about this place is pure perfection! We stopped by on our way home from the keys one morning just by chance, the "coffee" sign on the side of the road caught our eye and WOW what a HOME RUN!!! Amanda and team are amazing! We weren't familiar with the place so when we entered we were in the back and made our way to the menus. The place was packed but the morning rush was just heading out as we were settling in. We placed our orders, sat in the far back and within minutes our food arrived fresh and hot! We were greeted with smiles, and great conversation! Amanda is a true star and her passion for Midway shows because everything down to the tiny detail (salt scrub next to the soap in the bathrooms) was just perfection! The crumb cake here is delicious! The croissants were just okay. We ordered a butter croissant, chocolate, and almonds ones as well. We would not order those again. The muffins were all gone by 9am so we didn't get to try those. The chai tea latte was worth the wait. We were a bit confused why ordering to go from the pastry case took as long as it did though. We waited over 30 min total just to pick out our items and then had to wait even longer before they boxed them up for us. The coffee service takes a while because there is just one person making all the drinks. We kept feeling like we were in the way of the employees (they seemed very stressed). It's a great stop if you have lots of time in the morning. We were on a bit of a tight schedule so we would go very early next time and on a morning we don't have anything planned. read more

We pulled in and parked around back and headed into the spot. It is very small and was a little cramped and confusing to figure out where to go to how to order with all of the people. As we were waiting in line, there was a lot of activity with waitresses going past, which was only made harder in the small space. We decided to get coffee, cinnamon roll and a cookie. We headed out back to grab a table outside. I understand that the seating was outside, but I think it could've been a little bit more well maintained and cleaned. Overall, the cookie and the cinnamon roll were OK. They were good enough to hit the craving that we were looking for, but, I don't know if I would recommend this as a must stop spot in the keys. read more
