I came here with a friend after a massage around the corner, and it was the best afternoon pick me up, post massage treat. There are a lot of bingsoo places around the area and I actually overlook café oak all the time, probably because it's very small compared to the other cafés that are more flashy. Now upon entering you see a few claw machines, some rice punch slushy machines that are not turned on yet (maybe it was too early?) two girls in the back and some Korean older ladies gossiping away, who are customers. There are definitely seats available and the menu is pretty straightforward with some baked goods and some Kimbap to purchase. Ambiance is very chill and casual. My friend and I share the mango bingsoo which was so delicious. It had condensed milk, fresh soft Manila mangoes, soft shaved ice, mochi in a center and some lychee jellies on the bottom. Towards the end of the shaved ice, it was a little too sweet due to all the melted condensed milk, mango drizzle, and lychee jelly on the bottom however, from the top to the center it was perfection. I would completely come back to try the other flavors as well. Not pictured here are the pork kimbap and beef kimbap. It's actually fairly price and very yummy! Huge rolls as well!
Super yummy spot for dessert! I've tried the injeolmi waffle and matcha bingsu here. Both were so delicious and filling. This will definitely be one of my go to dessert spots in the area. The matcha bingsu was delicious and the presentation was so cute with the fish ice cream. It also had mochi and nuts throughout. At first, I was a bit skeptical of the nuts but it added a nice texture contrast and I really liked it inside the bingsu. I shared it with 2 other people and it was definitely a good portion size for us. Loved the matcha bingsu and am excited to come back to try the other flavors!! The medium sized injeolmi waffle came with 2 waffles and 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream on the side. It also came with some strawberry slices. Overall, it was very good but I would personally get the bingsu over the waffle as long as weather permits lol!
Yet another cafe in palpark to get yummy bingsoo! I originally ordered the taro bingsoo, but they ran out so I went for Injeolmi Bingsoo. The portion size was huge but there were a lot more nuts than we expected so we didn't taste the injeolmi as much. But the snowy ice was creamy and even when it melted, it tasted pretty good! The servers here are very friendly and make your order very fast. I saw lots of people coming in for their savory foods, but they were out for the day so I hope I can also try them next time I come!
Sea salt coffee less sugar is so good! Need to try sea salt green tea next time. I keep forgetting Kimbap is good! Comparable to kimbob club. I was looking to see the price for the kimbap and noticed that I had their kimbap before but just didn't remember. Anyway... their kimbap is solid. The spicy pork belly is a little salty but flavorful and good! The spicy squid is also really good cus it's spicy and sweet. I think their tuna kimbap is what stands out. I think their tuna kimbap is better than kimbob club! Love how I can taste the perilla leaf and reminds me of korea. I remember the first time I tried tuna kimbap in korea and the perilla leaf and tuna just went so well. Def getting this from here but still want to try the other ones cus they have so many diff flavors. Also LOVE how there's not a lot of rice like some places! Almost forgot.. their musubi rice to egg and spam ratio is much better. Diff than a musubi but still good :) Service is good
My partner and I took my nephew and nieces here for bubble tea. Each of us ordered different flavors. My nephew ordered lemonade since he's not a fan of bubble tea. The staff was friendly. She answered all our questions and was patient with us. There were seatings so we were able to sit and wait for our order. Now the reason for two less star. Too much sugar. We all agreed our bubble teas were way too sweet. Even the lemonade had too much sugar. I got taro and I was too overwhelmed with the sugar to even enjoy it. I would recommend informing them how sweet you want your bubble tea. Another interesting thing was my taro bubble tea had a slushy consistency. It was creamy. Not actual milk tea. Same with the coconut and cookies&cream flavors. Another thing was the cookies&cream. It looked like chocolate. I'm used to seeing cookies& cream being off white with crushed Oreo looking pieces. In terms of the decor, the place is cozy. They serve shaved ice. On the weekday you can easily find seating to enjoy it. There are two arcade games inside. I found the price to play them to be pricey.
Got the Injeolmi Bingsu ($15.95) . "Injeolmi is a variety of tteok, or Korean rice cake." Pretty expensive but around the price that I've seen around here. It was very tasty and they even put toppings inside the Bingsu, not just the top. I appreciate that! Only reducing one star because I've had better Bingsu for the same price. Kind staff too. Lots of seating space.
We really wanted D'avant's shaved ice but only found out when we got there that they no longer make it, so we gave this place a try. We got the taro one and it was okay. The icicles were too big and the boba weren't fresh. Pretty subpar, yet brazenly overpriced. Service was also not good... The employees there weren't interested in taking the customers' orders.
Bingsoo is the best on a hot day, which is why I came to this cafe! I like how this cafe isn't super packed unlike the other ones on the street. I ordered the mango bingsoo which could probably serve 4 people (I had a party of 3). I personally thought it tasted artificial; the whole thing was an orangey color and was covered in syrup. I thought it was still refreshing but I wasn't a huge fan of the flavor. Presentation was nice though!
Cafe Oak is by far, one of my favorite cafe's in Palisades Park. They're honest with their food and their service is great! Ambiance is also really warm, intimate and charming (reminds me of Korea in many ways). Food: I LOVE the Korean Street Toast here and it's probably the only cafe that does Korean Street Toast well in this location. They do it very authentically and with a lot of love. The price for everything here is also priced very fairly. Service: I never sat down to eat here but the workers are always very warm and welcoming when you come into the store and they also give you time to make your coffee selection. Not to mention offering any adjustments to your drink after trying it. Everyone here is very kind, patient and sweet. Ambiance: There's a lot of food and drink options to take in. So if you're not a regular, make sure to step back before ordering so you can get a full view of the various items they have on their menu (they may have seasonal items too!). Overall: 10/10 for food, drinks, service, ambiance and music selection as well. Song selections fit the vibe of the coffee shop really well.
Sea salt iced coffee is delicious! Perfect balance of coffee and sea salt foam. It's not too sweet too. There's a decent amount of seating inside and a wide variety of other beverages, snacks and bingsoo. Looks like the kimbap is a hit here (there's a whole list of options) but they were sold out when we came on a Saturday evening!

Craving coffee, bubble tea, waffles, kimbap, udon, street food, and even toy machines? Thankfully, this place has it all and more! Whether you're with kids, on a family outing, hanging out with friends, or just looking to recharge solo, this spot is perfect for any occasion. The food is great, made fresh right before your eyes, and the prices are very reasonable. For my part, I had my beloved hazelnut latte, while my husband went for a classic, straight coffee. The kid opted for cold brew and a matcha bingsoo. If you've never had bingsoo, you're in for a treat! The presentation alone is a work of art, featuring a fish-shaped serving of matcha-filled ice cream, topped with matcha ice cream, red beans, mochi, nuts, and light, fluffy ice shavings. One word: sublime! The staff is friendly and great at making recommendations. They also know how to brew a perfect cup of coffee: strong, just the way we like it. The space is well-maintained, and parking is metered, so keep that in mind. read more

Another Cafe in Pali Park among the many. Even with the big windows, the inside is a bit dark. Limited seating, wood tables and chairs. A longish community table with bench. Grabby toy machines located near the community table. We ordered several coffees, one black (me), one with cream and sugar and a cold brew. Their coffee is good! And we ordered a Green Tea Match Bingsu and got a massive bowl of shaved ice milk infused with mochi, a huge dollop of sweet red bean, surrounded by almond slivers and top with Bungeoppang (Taiyaki), a Korean fish shaped pastry that was split opened, smeared with sweet red bean and filled with green tea ice cream. Was it good? If you like your deserts on the sweeter side, yes it was. The shaved ice milk is richer than others I've had. The red bean paste is richer and very sweet. The mochi that is infused into the shaved ice adds texture as well as additional sweetness. The green tea ice cream is well, greet tea ice cream. And the Bungeoppang elevates higher. Is it my jam? Maybe not. A spoonful or too was enough. For what it is, amazing. I hear they have a mean Mango Bingsu that's seasonal, so yeah I'll be back! read more

This place looks a lot smaller than its actual space from the outside but, sometimes, good and tasty things are served in smaller places. They offer several different concoction of bingsoos such as mango and poop (nutella), etc. Portions are quite generous and things came out in no time. There are LOTS of selections from cup ramen to pastries jam packed in this little place. Nice amount of seating is available in the cafe but, this seems to be one of the more 'quiet' Korean cafes on Broad ave. read more
Was going to check out other bingsoo place but they have intermediate break in the evening so decided to pop in here. It doesn't taste as authentic as some other places could offer, mochi icecream was good but the bingsoo itself were basic. read more

Oh my gosh how my heart is happy!!! Im in love with this place! Bubble tea, waffles, bingsoo yeesss!! And everything looks so delicious! I've been wanting to eat ube or taro especially since i got back from the philippines and having to try their taro bingsoo here is like hitting the lottery! My tastebuds and tummy may have done a back flip in joy lol seriously though, they really offer a good variety of desserts and portions are generous that you can share them. I soo wanted to try their waffles and black sesame bubble tea but i must not abuse my stomach. At least there'd still be a good reason for me to come back. Location is pretty good too as they have a metered street parking. Came here on a friday and so far it wasnt so packed. I bet they'd get full during the weekends! Cafe Oak is super quaint and cute. I like that it is a little bit "out of the way" in that it's not adjacent to Rodeo Plaza but it's still just a minute or two away. The baristas have always been quick with preparing my coffee orders and are usually smiling, which is nice. I like that Cafe Oak is not over-crowded; it seems that those who have sought it out know it's a gem and are regulars. Overall, I really like this cafe for its cleanliness and quietness. I recommend to anyone seeking some quality quiet time. read more
This place has the BEST corn dogs and gimbab!!! They have a variety of options for the gimbab, but the jaeyook (spicy pork) is my personal favorite. The K-style corn dogs are also a must try. They make them fresh so you may have to wait 10-15 minutes, but it's very much worth the wait! read more

It's a pretty cute place and the workers were really nice and patient! These two desserts were shared between three people and we could barely finish. The injeolmi waffles were not as sweet as I thought they'd be and the matcha bingsu was pretty good, I just prefer the one from cafe leah! read more
Cafe Oak wasn't too bad. This was my first time here. There were a lot of seating available and the music wasn't horrible, although it did switch from Korean to American and back to Korean very randomly. The menu choices were abundant and they had unique bingsoo choices than the other cafes in PalPark. My group chose the matcha bingsoo. It came out fairly quickly (within 5-10 minutes) with a beautiful presentation. However, after taking a few bites each, we stopped because it just tasted like ice after we ate all of the topping with the first half (and that's after we mixed the toppings into the ice...we didn't just scrap off the toppings). I think my favorite part was the fish ice cream on top of the bingsoo..otherwise, it was okay...I've tasted better. read more

Small place located in broad avenue. For the past 10~15 times I came here on weekend, it was always pretty empty (on weekends too). I like their warm and quiet ambiance. The main reason I come here is for their injeolmi waffle + ice cream. They put some nuts/grain powder/syrup on top of the waffle and they complement each other so well. I've seen couple people with their laptop to study and work, but I think the cafe is too small to stay and study for long time. Cafe oak has decent coffee and other pastries too! read more

What a lovely new cafe. I came across this place after dinner and was excited to try to bingsu. So glad my friend and I stopped in because we've discovered a new chill spot. The atmosphere is cozy and relaxing and management was so nice and friendly. The manager showed us picture of the items on the menu since we couldn't imagine what it would like and especially since we aren't Korean lol. He convinced us to try the mango bingsu and the sea salt coffee. Here is my break down of my overall experience 5/5 for management Its nice to walk into a place where you feel welcomed and where management acknowledges your presence. Oh and the manager took such good care of us that he even gave us a free tumbler for the grand opening special even though the special wasn't starting until the next day. You can never turn down anything free! 5/5 mango bingsu The shaved ice isn't you normal bingsu shaved ice. It actually had mango flavored ice which was pleasant and refreshing. The manager was kind enough to allow us to even pick our own fresh mango for the side. It was a delicious dish! 5/5 sea salt coffee Never was a fan of dark coffee or strong coffee but my was this a delicious cup of coffee. Yum! This place is definitely worth a try! Based on the coffee alone - this was average, maybe even below average. The green tea latte was a bit too sweet while the vanilla latte had zero vanilla flavor. Unfortunately I was already on my way home when I tasted the vanilla latte or else I would've asked the barista to fix it. He even confirmed the drinks with me before I left, so it didn't seem like a misorder to me. While the drinks didn't taste bad (luckily I like regular unflavored lattes too!), I was definitely expecting more. The desserts here looked bomb though, so I'm willing to give it another shot to try their popular bingsoo and waffles. read more

Probably my least favorite bingsu in the area. Here they make it very stringy (I think they put more rice cakes) and very sweet (lots of condensed milk). I prefer the more dense and less sweet style of bingsu. My sweet tooth friends loved and devoured it so definitely comes down to preference. Staff is very nice. Its definitely a good option for dessert after the Korean restaurants in the area. They have popular specialties so I may look into those for next time. read more

Typical korean cafe in pal park. I used to be a fan when they first opened a few years ago. I liked the sea salt coffee lattes but after a year or so, the taste became very blend and it wasn't worth paying over $5.. also, the street parking is not that easy due to the popular american bakery nearby so that's another reason I've been avoiding the place for awhile now. They first came out with those thin paper-like sliced shaved ice. It was pretty cool in the beginning but they put too much syrup. But I still do like their rice cake-like waffles. I wish the waffles had strong herb flavors but it doesn't really. read more
Whoever invented rice cake waffles was a genius. Don't get me wrong, I still love regular, soft, chewy waffles too. This place just takes the waffle game to another level. I'm a big fan of rice cakes of all kinds. So when you put rice cakes + waffles together.... The combination is mindblowing. You still get the look and feel of a waffle but the taste is savory AND sweet. My friend and I could not stop eating. Ingeolmi waffles are a must! read more
Nice cafe with a decent amount of seating. Located on Broad Ave, right in the heart of Palisades Park. Unfortunately, the parking on Broad Ave. is metered. Luckily I found a spot relatively nearby. But I can see on a busy day, you might be looking for parking for a bit. Went in and pretty much knew what I wanted to order. The taro bingsu seems to come up in alot of the Yelp reviews and the pics make it look very appealing. One thing I didn't know was the size of the dish and whether or not it would be enough for two people. Can't tell from the Yelp pics, how big the dish really is. Turns out the bingsu is generously sized and it was definitely enough for two people. I was very impressed with the taste. I got a little brain freeze from eating it, but the flavor had a good amount of sweetness and good texture to it. I wasn't really a fan of the red bean popsicle, but I guess it makes for a better photo. read more
First time coming here and I will definitely come here again! It has a nice and cozy environment and they offer a variety of desserts! I got a taro bubble tea with lychee jelly- so delicious!! They also don't charge extra for the lychee jelly!! We also got the hot caramel macchiato and it was really good too! It was perfectly sweet and did its job. This is one of my favorite places to come study, eat, hangout with friends, and enjoy bubble tea! I came here pretty often during my college semester. This place has a comfortable atmosphere and doesn't get too crowded. Therefore, it makes it a great place to study. I would spend hours and I mean it. I would come here on Mondays and Wednesdays to study. On Mondays I stayed from 10AM to 4PM. The staff here are so nice and they have never kicked me out for staying so long. Although the cafe is in a largely Korean town, I still feel welcomed coming in here. I would definitely recommend the beef panini here! If you love bulgogi, you'll love it in a panini form. The bulgogi tastes great and the cheese on it pairs with it nicely. I would also recommend the pupu bread which I thought was extremely funny since it is a poop shaped bread with Nutella, but don't be deterred by the name as it tastes amazing! One time, I ordered 6 of them! That's how amazing it is to me. The bubble tea also tastes great here. The tapioca pearls are cooked perfectly. I have never disliked any of the bubble tea I have ordered from here. I have also tried the waffles from here which also has an interesting taste. It sort of tastes like a Belgian waffle, but not. It's hard for me to explain. It tastes great though. However, I've gotten the bubble waffle which I thought was alright. The bubble waffle was a bunch of tiny balls of waffles on a plate drizzled with chocolate. I assumed it would look like the "Eggloo" bubble waffle where it's formed all into one waffle. It's not too bad though, but didn't satisfy me. Besides that, there are plenty of other items on the vast menu. There's also some quick grab & go items on the counter and in front of it. Overall, this is a great cafe and you won't be disappointed. I plan to come back and try the bingsoo here. read more

I got a black sugar milk tea. Literally, they put blacksugar into the milk tea not infused or using syrup. Totally different from the picture they advertised. So disappointing. Rating is only for the false advertising and bad product. Other atmospheres were okay. read more
