Black Cuppy is a Korean-inspired cafe tucked away on the second floor of a restaurant building. They offer a drink menu with teas, smoothies, espresso, refreshers, and specialty lattes. If you have a sweet tooth, they have desserts like croissants, cakes, cookies, and macarons. The interior is small, but charming. There's a cozy nook with comfy and stylish chairs. There's one large communal table towards the back corner and a few smaller tables that are good for groups of 2-3 people. They have wifi and wall outlets if you need to charge your devices. The cafe has plenty of natural lighting, with a large window offering a street view of Fort Lee. This is an ideal spot to study, work, or meet with friends. The employees are sweet and helpful. They're happy to give you recommendations based on your tastes and answer any questions. What I've tried: *Iced Banana Latte $7 - This is one of their most popular drinks and I'm glad I tried it! Every sip tasted like banana bread with a hint of espresso. The banana flavor was sweet, but subtle. The drink was also topped with a layer of banana cream, which I really enjoyed. *Iced Vanilla Latte $6 - No complaints with their lattes - they are smooth and creamy. The espresso isn't overly bitter. The baristas know how to create the right ratio of milk to coffee. *Strawberry Ade $6.75 - One of the best ade drinks I've had. The strawberry flavor tasted very natural - not super artificial and sugary. There was actual real pieces of strawberry in the drink, too. This is a great choice if you're looking for a carbonated, refreshing drink. *Kimbap (sausage & bulgogi) - I got really excited when I saw that they sold freshly made kimbap! I bought two boxes ($16 for 20 pieces) and I was a little disappointed :( They tasted a bit dry and the ingredients didn't have much flavor. The only downsides are the parking and accessibility. The cafe is on a busy street in Fort Lee and they don't have their own lot. It's on the second floor of a building and the stairs are pretty steep. Unfortunately it's not accessible to those who are handicapped. I'll be back to try more drinks and pastries!

nice cafe in the area! i've been here several times now. i enjoy their interesting/fun latte flavors. clean interior with a good amount of seating. i've never had difficulty finding a seat here. i've seen people come here to study and chat with friends, so it's a very versatile cafe. they also have a clean bathroom! would def recommend

Been to Black Cuppy around three times now. Great cafe, interesting drink menu, pretty decent price, and a good location. They have a lot of space in case you wanted to sit down and study. Had their banana latte and americano so far. Banana latte was delicious while large americano was pretty cheap, like 4-5$. Would definitely suggest this spot. Also has a nice viewing window. Workers were kind.

I was looking for a place to hang out for an hour and found this hidden place. You go up a flight if stairs and found this adorable coffee shop with chic setting. Immediately I was greeted by the staff to be of assistance or take my orders. After giving a minute and asking for help I ordered the kimbap, black latte (their version of mocha) & croongji (flattened lightly sweet crossaint). I found a table and sat while waiting for my things. Service was quick and the food was really good. It was average quiet to work or to chat with a friend. I highly recommend and definitely will come back!

BANANA LATTE. For Binggrae banana milk lovers like myself, this latte might just be your morning pick-me-up. Just try it.

Such a cute café with unique and creative drinks like the banana milk latte, coconut latte, and Earl Grey & Choco. The banana milk latte, in particular, had a banana/vanilla flavor--kind of like the banana bread pudding from Magnolia Bakery! The café is located upstairs with plenty of seating, lots of natural light, and a nice view--perfect for a quiet and relaxing work session. Service was quick, I was there on a Friday morning. They offer a good variety of croissants and pastries (not much in terms of full meals), but it's a great spot to bring a laptop and get things done. Can't wait to come back and try more!

ABSOLUTELY RECOMMENDED CAFE!!! Great place to catch up and rest up! All drinks and desserts are good, you won't regret it!

Amazing spot!! I loved the banana latte, which tastes just like korean banana milk and still has a smooth espresso flavor. Great ambiance and kind service! Looking forward to returning and trying more specialty drinks :-)

Such a cute new cafe and a perfect spot to study or do work! The drinks are delicious and crafted with heart. The flavors all shine and aren't overly sweet. The cookies are also bomb omg. Service wasn't the best but only cos they're understaffed (waited a while to be helped). Def want to come back soon and try more drinks!

Fantastic new cafe. The coffee was delicious, they did a great job with the interior design (despite being relatively small it feels spacious) with comfy and stylish chairs and the service was excellent. Will go back. It's difficult to see since it's on the second floor but you gotta try it if you are in the area.

Banana latte is awesome. Coconut latte is good. Black latte is so so. Coffee flavor is not very strong overall. Nice interior. Cute shop on the second floor.

New cafe close in walkable distance from many other businesses around here, which is nice. The drink menu is diverse with unique flavor offerings and although I did not try the coffee, the earl grey hot chocolate was decently thick and had a noticeable sweet earl grey flavoring. The inside is an upstairs area with a large window and ample seating for catching up with friends or doing work. Maybe because it's still new it was empty and quiet enough for doing work, but that might change in the future. The pastry selection for breaded items like croissants was a bit limited but there are cheesecake selections here. If I'm in the area I would try some of the lattes.

It's a lovely cafe on the second floor. The interior has a great atmosphere, and it's very comfortable. The cake and latte were both delicious, so I'll definitely come back!

Ask the Community - Black Cuppy

How about parking ? Nowadays, the stores in the strip mall can enter the gated parking and get the tickets validated. Does Black Cuppy validate the parking too or should we just park on the street? I tried calling the store, but no phone number.

The interior is cute since the building is basically a house. The service was friendly and the menu had a good amount of options. I ordered the brown sugar matcha latte which in my opinion was much too sweet. I typically prefer a stronger matcha taste so it may come down to preference. I thought there was too much syrup and the brown sugar flavor overpowered the matcha. I did try the drink without mixing first and the matcha by itself was fine. My friends' drink (banana bread latte and sparkling ade) tasted good so I would recommend their coffee and sparkling ades. On to the croffle, this was by far the highlight. The croffles come out fresh and warm, the croffle itself has that chewy and moist texture but crunchy on the outside. The cream was very fresh and tasty, not too heavy and not too sweet. The matcha flavor in the cream was definitely there for the matcha croffle. We also got the black sesame croffle and biscoff croffle which were amazing too. Overall, I would 100% come back for the croffle, coffee, and good vibes.

I made my first visit to Cheongsu, a super homey Korean cafe featuring drinks, pastries, and desserts. Given the weather, I went with their strawberry matcha bingsu. I would say Service is pretty nonexistent as you order on the counter and you see yourself with no waitressing. The cashier lady was also pretty rude and not accomodating to my request (make my drinks less sweet) so they lose a store for that. Atmosphere is cute and vibes are great, definitely has modern and traditional Korean vibes. However, I would not say that this is like a traditional tea house? Having been to A LOT of tea houses in Korea, their menu and concept is definitely far from what a traditional teahouse is like. For instance, a traditional teahouse would have assorted rice, cakes and traditional, Korean desserts, however, I feel like this place used modern French pastries, and put a Korean twist on them, which I would say is not very Korean in reality. Baked goods were OK. It tasted stale. Losing a star for that as well.
