Great food, great service! Our last visit to Tulsa we noticed the menu had changed and my Hubby's favorite Molcajete dish was missing. Our waitress (I wish I could remember her name) went back and ask the chef if he could make it. He was so accommodating and it was just as delicious as always. Never go to Tulsa without having a meal at Caf e Ole!

Great leisurely lunch spot on a leisurely afternoon. It was Good Friday at 12:30 when we arrived and there was no patio seating left. In fact, we snagged one of the last "hallway" tables and soon after the tables in the small front were packed. Service was a bit slow but we were not in a hurry at all. We ordered margs which were delicious as were the stacked enchiladas (my all time favorite). If you know they're going to be busy and you have to sit on the patio, I would arrive super early or late. We left about 2 and there were a few spots open. I just love this quirky place. Four stars only because of service quickness (but they were busy!!!).

Parking is a shared lot in the back of the restaurant but depending on the time of day fills quickly and then you have street parking. The server was efficient with order taking and getting us our drinks and refills. The staff was nice but there was little ambiance or character to the inside it might be different on the patio. The food was okay other than the charro beans with chorizo nothing stuck out as an item to go back for. I had the carne asada and got an arm workout cutting the meat as it was fatty and a little tough. My friend got the fish tacos and said they were okay but also nothing stood out for her. For the food a 2 but the service was good so a 3 it is.

I forget about Cafe Ole sometimes because it's just off S Peoria Ave so out of sight out of mind I guess. But then again, sometimes I remember about Cafe Ole and then realize what a great place it is. Very laid-back and casual, they have a very nice covered outside area for seating which is also dog-friendly

If you are new to Tulsa or visiting, you definitely want to try this T Town icon. Cafe Ole is known for its healthy cooking. Some people like that and others don't. It's also known for its patio. I love the patio. Today, as we approached the restaurant, I commented to Dan that it looked like a party. When we walked in, friends greeted us. It was a party. Everyone seemed to be enjoying the atmosphere. This is my favorite part of this restaurant. It's fun. I was disappointed that they no longer have a lunch menu. We both got Cuban sandwiches which was small enough for us. It's slightly different from most Cubans. It didn't have ham and pickle but did have guacamole and caramelized onions. It was flavorful and moist. The slaw is tasty and crisp. Parking on Brookside can be a problem, but they have a private parking lot with a parking guard. Even though they don't have lunch specials, they have Tin Pan Tuesday. On Tuesdays from 4 to close, Tecate is $2.50 and they offer a variety of tasty treats such as tamales, street tacos, etc for $2.50 each. To help keep the patio atmosphere pleasant, they have small windmills on tables to keep flies away. If you live in Tulsa and haven't been to Cafe Ole, you need to try it.

Fantastically Flavored Chicken Verde Enchiladas (Gluten Free)

Ohhhh...I'm so full. They have 2 different kinds of queso so yes, we did it. We ordered a small of each. One is made with cream cheese and the other is 'regular' queso. Both are taaasty. There are several gluten free options on the menu. I ordered the chicken verde enchiladas and the verde sauce had so much flavor. My husband ordered the stacked enchiladas and enjoyed them. Everything was delicious, our server was friendly and I didn't have a reaction. Now that's a win in my book, WOOT WOOT!

The food was great! Very delicious and tasty! Mexico City style. I enjoyed the salsa and chips! I ordered a Torta Cubano! Massive! The best Cubano I've ever had! Must try this place! Outdoor vibe and great location. Service was decent.

Really good food. Really bad service. It's typical to wait a very long time for things like a margarita, or your check.

My favorite Mexican restaurant in Tulsa! Their queso dip and margaritas are the best! Also, the service is definitely 5 star.

Whenever I get back to Tulsa I love to eat here, especially in the fall when they have a fire going on the porch. Love it.

It's well-worn but clean. Staff is quick and friendly. The prices are very reasonable. You'll leave full, but not bloated. I've been a fan of El Rio Verde for many years and always look forward to eating here. It's not a large place and only has perhaps four or five booths and a half-dozen tables, and it fills up fast at lunch. They're known for their "Wet Burrito," but the enchiladas and burritos are also outstanding. The refried beans are fresh and made in-house. The salsa is freshly made too and very good, but not memorable like the food. You'll see people from all walks of life eating here - couples, single moms with children, police officers, business people, blue collar workers, and everyone in-between. If you want really good Mexican food that is not TexMex or from a chain restaurant, try this place! You won't regret it! One of my favorite places in Tulsa. However, as of this review, be aware that Utica Avenue, just east of the restaurant, has been blocked to north-bound traffic only for water main replacement, so getting into the neighborhood is easier than leaving. Plan to go toward downtown on the service road next to I-244 for most efficient egress.
