I enjoyed Morrocan food years ago when I was on vacation in Casablanca. Also, this year friends visited from Morocco during Ramadan. Though Muslims fast during the daytime, at night they eat well. My friend's mother lovingly prepared homecooked dishes every day. I was in heaven. On both occasions when I dined at Couscous Hice, I was brought back to that same heaven. The spices were perfectly balanced, with delicate flavor layers. It was like eating homecooking in a Morrocan family's home. The meat was tender, the bread was straight from the oven and was complimentary to the olive oil (Morrocan is the best). The couscous was of the perfect texture. I loved the simplicity of the dishes while still featuring the complexity of layers of flavor. The owner Fouad and his wife exude love in the restaurant's atmosphere. I could taste love in the food. I'm Creole, from New Orleans. Cooking is a big part of our culture. I'm trained to sense the ingredient of Love in food. Fouad is quite the conversationalist, is warm, intelligent, and talented. I recommend that you visit Couscous Hice. Enjoy the Morrocan culture in a warm and cozy environment. Bring a friend as I've brought a couple. Now they're bringing friends. Check it out! Kevy

Vegan review: We had the Zaalook sandwich (eggplant and peppers) which was phenomenal. The sandwich was on fresh bread, which made it the perfect mix of oily, chewy, salty and flavorful. I had called ahead to ask whether it was vegan, and when we arrived, they remembered my call. The owner suggested we order one sandwich with a side of soup, which they also confirmed was vegan. I believe it was a pea soup, subtle and earthy, and fantastic for a chilly day. The sandwiches came out with delicious tangy harissa. They also confirmed the Green O'Bneen was made with coconut milk, not dairy, and would be another option for vegans. Cannot wait to come back and try it!

Couscous Hice opened today in Park Hill where the old GB Fish and Chips existed. What a great addition to Park Hill. I stopped in for lunch and the owners, Ed and his wife Soumia, warmly greeted me and answered all my questions. We talked about my horse while I checked out the menu. I settled for a Green O'Bneen a vegetable offering of zucchini and fava beans over couscous. Ed asked if I wanted it spicy and added a special harissa sauce to spice my dish up. It was very good. The menu says that they will be adding dishes like a tagine. And I have saved the best for last. The sweets were just perfect. I had a single date stuffed with a delicious coconut cream. It was small but filled the sweet tooth. They have decorated the space with objects from Moracco. It is clean with three or four tables. They have Moroccan hot and cold tea and all the other US soft drinks. I love that we have another dining culture located in the neighborhood. I am sure they will become very popular.

The Chicken Tajine was incredible! I ordered it and enjoyed it while listening to the singing of Fouad and his wife and ordered the chicken pastilla to go. Thank you for the wonderful experience and best of luck to your business and family.

A new Moroccan restaurant just opened in the neighborhood, and it's a true gem. Owned by a married couple, the space is warm, welcoming, and clearly built with care. They treated us with such kindness--it felt more like being hosted than dining out. The food was excellent: flavorful, perfectly spiced , and fresh, vibrant bread and chakchouka. You could tell everything was made with intention. It's the kind of place that makes you want to come back--not just for the food, but because it feels good to be there. We'll be back soon.

I am from California, and I visited Denver. I found myself at this Moroccan restaurant, and I'm going to be honest their food was delicious and authentic. I really enjoyed it, especially their tagine and couscous. Personally, I loved their tagine the most. It was truly delicious.

The standout dish was the lamb couscous: perfectly tender, slow-cooked lamb that practically melts in your mouth, layered over fluffy, fragrant couscous. The babaganush, harrira (soup), and bastille were pretty good, and I would come back and get them aging. The falafel was over fried and dry. The combo platter rice was good, but meat was bland. And I'm so sad the dessert baklava was not that great. Smuttered in chocolate, the nuts and honey classic flavor could not be tasted. They have a few other dishes in curious to come back to try. But... service! Well. Waitress was very friendly, definitely good vibes. But after 1st water, never refilled glasses; and plates stacked up. I had to ask (more than once) to clear then to make space for next one. And restaurant was not busy. So service-wise, but great. Food, since really good, some just meh. I'm 50/50 on coming back.

The flavor on everything is elevated and fresh!! We had hummus w/pita, falafel, and fries to start. Amazing falafel! Perfectly crispy outside and pillowy inside. For entrees, I had the lamb gyro which was one of the best I've had. The lamb is perfection and they wrap it in a roti instead of pita which was absolutely the move! The house-made pickled veggies served with it were amazing as well and really balanced the nice waiting of the lamb gyro. My wife got the Caesar salad with chicken Shawarma. That was Incredible as well! Try a side of the Harrissa in the zhug sauces to add a little fresh heat! The restaurant has great ambience with some Moroccan type vibes and a great patio. The bartenders and waitstaff were attentive, friendly, and professional. If I were rating only those things, this would be an easy 5 stars. Then the yellow rice arrived cold and crusty. We sent it back. It came back slightly improved but still not properly hot. After a few bites, we found a piece of plastic in it. The half chicken was a mixed bag. The crispy skin was delicious and well seasoned, but the chicken itself was served only lukewarm. Some pieces were moist and enjoyable, while others, especially toward the end, were noticeably dry. It wasn't bad, but had I known it would be served that way, I probably would have ordered something else. The kitchen issues alone would have dropped this to 4 stars. What pushed it down to 3 stars was the billing. A 20% service charge had already been added, yet the payment process still encouraged an additional tip. If you're not paying close attention, it's very easy to leave 40% on an already expensive meal. Whether intentional or not, it feels confusing and misleading. Even if it's disclosed somewhere on the menu, that doesn't make it customer friendly. Customers should not have to do math or hunt through fine print like a budget airlines to figure out what their meal actually costs. Build your labor costs into the menu price and be transparent. Surprise fees create frustration and leave customers feeling misled, regardless of how many disclaimers are printed. To their credit, they removed a couple of drinks from the bill, and I want to be clear that the staff handled the situation professionally. The problem was not the servers. The problem was a kitchen that missed the mark and a shady billing practice that leaves customers with a bad taste in their mouth at the end of the meal. Great hummus. Great pita. Great cocktails. Great service. Cold rice. Plastic in the food. A chicken dish that didn't quite live up to the hype. Confusing service fees. That's how a restaurant that could have been 5 stars ends up with 3.

The menu was recently refreshed and it shows. The mushroom paella was loaded and perfectly cooked, the burrata was a solid start, and the Turkish pizza with halloumi was a surprise standout. The poached cod was also great, especially the sauce. The drinks were just as strong. The L5 margarita with salt foam was really good, and even the frosé, which I usually skip, worked perfectly here. The vibe is a big part of it. The downtown views are hard to beat and the patio is easily one of the better ones in the city. Inside also feels intentional and well designed. Service was excellent. Avery was our server and it was her first day, which you wouldn't have guessed. Carl and Mark also made the experience feel smooth and welcoming. To update my most recent review of this place after getting me the Kafta Kabab plate…read more... Amazingly good quality food and friendly service!! On a super chilly Friday night, after I had been done with my second hustle business not too far from this restaurant, before I headed for another business I would need to take care of, I stopped here as I was famished. I simply couldn't think of any other place where I could get food that always promises quality where I wouldn't have to wait too long to get it. I was truly fearful that my uncontrollable appetite would swallow me had I gone to a different restaurant where I might end up waiting too long (LOL!!) My choice was right. And to be greeted by the same kind gentleman (who had always assisted me in the past) warmed up the core of my heart and soul. He did say to me that I should have called in to place my order ahead because he said that the kitchen was quite busy and that I might wait at least or as long as 20 minutes. I told him I was willing to wait although my stomach continued to yell at me from inside!! Well, I got lucky; it didn't take long. See...my assumption was right; this place never disappoints. This time, instead of the usual I get (the vegetarian plate), I tried something different. It's the Kafta Kabob plate. This is another great dish to consider ordering at this place as long as meat is part of your diet. The meat was unapologetically tender and well-seasoned. It was hard to fathom as to how they perfected this technique to cook it to its perfection. The accompanying salad and hummus were gracefully served in the same container. Did I say that Golden's hummus is one of the best? I think I did at least once. It is because of its impeccable creaminess. Awww...I can eat this thing almost everyday if I must. This is a tiny, more of a family-run restaurant type place. Inside is quite basic and yet it's never messy or dirty. This is a place you can comfortably sit and dine without worrying about its cleanliness; sanitation is not an issue. But most of all, you go here for the quality of food. This place easily beats a fine restaurant in an upscale neighborhood for sure.
