I enjoyed Morrocan food years ago when I was on vacation in Casablanca. Also, this year friends visited from Morocco during Ramadan. Though Muslims fast during the daytime, at night they eat well. My friend's mother lovingly prepared homecooked dishes every day. I was in heaven. On both occasions when I dined at Couscous Hice, I was brought back to that same heaven. The spices were perfectly balanced, with delicate flavor layers. It was like eating homecooking in a Morrocan family's home. The meat was tender, the bread was straight from the oven and was complimentary to the olive oil (Morrocan is the best). The couscous was of the perfect texture. I loved the simplicity of the dishes while still featuring the complexity of layers of flavor. The owner Fouad and his wife exude love in the restaurant's atmosphere. I could taste love in the food. I'm Creole, from New Orleans. Cooking is a big part of our culture. I'm trained to sense the ingredient of Love in food. Fouad is quite the conversationalist, is warm, intelligent, and talented. I recommend that you visit Couscous Hice. Enjoy the Morrocan culture in a warm and cozy environment. Bring a friend as I've brought a couple. Now they're bringing friends. Check it out! Kevy

Vegan review: We had the Zaalook sandwich (eggplant and peppers) which was phenomenal. The sandwich was on fresh bread, which made it the perfect mix of oily, chewy, salty and flavorful. I had called ahead to ask whether it was vegan, and when we arrived, they remembered my call. The owner suggested we order one sandwich with a side of soup, which they also confirmed was vegan. I believe it was a pea soup, subtle and earthy, and fantastic for a chilly day. The sandwiches came out with delicious tangy harissa. They also confirmed the Green O'Bneen was made with coconut milk, not dairy, and would be another option for vegans. Cannot wait to come back and try it!

Couscous Hice opened today in Park Hill where the old GB Fish and Chips existed. What a great addition to Park Hill. I stopped in for lunch and the owners, Ed and his wife Soumia, warmly greeted me and answered all my questions. We talked about my horse while I checked out the menu. I settled for a Green O'Bneen a vegetable offering of zucchini and fava beans over couscous. Ed asked if I wanted it spicy and added a special harissa sauce to spice my dish up. It was very good. The menu says that they will be adding dishes like a tagine. And I have saved the best for last. The sweets were just perfect. I had a single date stuffed with a delicious coconut cream. It was small but filled the sweet tooth. They have decorated the space with objects from Moracco. It is clean with three or four tables. They have Moroccan hot and cold tea and all the other US soft drinks. I love that we have another dining culture located in the neighborhood. I am sure they will become very popular.

The Chicken Tajine was incredible! I ordered it and enjoyed it while listening to the singing of Fouad and his wife and ordered the chicken pastilla to go. Thank you for the wonderful experience and best of luck to your business and family.

A new Moroccan restaurant just opened in the neighborhood, and it's a true gem. Owned by a married couple, the space is warm, welcoming, and clearly built with care. They treated us with such kindness--it felt more like being hosted than dining out. The food was excellent: flavorful, perfectly spiced , and fresh, vibrant bread and chakchouka. You could tell everything was made with intention. It's the kind of place that makes you want to come back--not just for the food, but because it feels good to be there. We'll be back soon.

I am from California, and I visited Denver. I found myself at this Moroccan restaurant, and I'm going to be honest their food was delicious and authentic. I really enjoyed it, especially their tagine and couscous. Personally, I loved their tagine the most. It was truly delicious.

I was excited to try after watching a documentary on the Somm channel about that specific winemaker. The wine was delicious. Additionally, I was so happy to see small boutique wine from the Santa Barbara area like Amevive and A Tribute to Grace. Our server Yvonne guided our menu choices thoughtfully and enhanced our experience with excellent service. We started with watermelon feta salad with baby cilantro, walnuts, and harissa oil. The watermelon was cool, sweet, and crisp and the flavors balanced perfectly. If you are a pickle lover you must get the pickles. I think I will be dreaming of them. The pickled cabbage, okra, califlower and snap peas were just the best! The pitas were puffy, but not hollow, and warm. There was also an olive oil dipping sauce that complemented everything. Star of the show for me was the forgaged mushrooms and hummus. These were the most delicious mushrooms and snoothest hummus I have ever experienced, and I think there might be magicians in the kitchen. Our other dishes were cabbage and eggplant. Both taste explosions, done masterfully with a sauce, color and texture. This food is truly incredible, highly recommend. I am in Denver for work, anytime I travel back to Denver I will for sure return to Safta.

I placed an Uber Eats order, but within about two minutes I experienced a serious emergency and had no choice but to cancel it. I immediately called the restaurant and explained the situation, hoping they would show some understanding. Instead, I was met with zero compassion from the owner, Moe. The restaurant was also close to closing when I placed my order. There is simply no way an entire chicken meal was fully prepared within two minutes. Despite that, I was still charged $41. Since I had already paid for the order, I asked if I could at least pick up the food myself instead of letting it go to waste. The owner , Moe, refused. So not only did I lose my $41, but I also wasn't allowed to receive the food that I had already paid for. That is incredibly frustrating and unfair. I understand businesses have cancellation policies, but there should also be room for common sense and compassion. Emergencies happen, and I canceled almost immediately after placing the order. Instead of trying to help or work with me, I was treated like my situation didn't matter at all. This experience left me feeling completely dismissed and taken advantage of. Customer service is about treating people with respect, especially when unexpected situations arise. Unfortunately, I received none of that. I will never order from Sahara Restaurant again, and I cannot recommend a business that shows so little empathy for its customers. There are many restaurants that value their customers and would have tried to find a fair solution. Sadly, this was not one of them.

The main dish my mom got was the carrot dish because she is a vegetarian, it was such a lazy dish! Just extra charred carrots on a bed of chickpeas and sauce - I expected more! And from that point on, from first taste, I knew my experience would be exceptional. The service was attentive without being overly attentive, and the chef's were so kind, answering every one of my weird questions about what they were preparing or ingredients that I noticed. I ordered the smoked burrata to start. The balance between the candied pistachio, artichoke pesto, and wagyu cecina really created a well balanced and unexpected dish. The burrata was creamy and the salty and sweet components balanced the aged sherry gastrique and made for an incredible intro to a beautiful performance by the chefs. Next was another small dish, which I wish I remembered the description for (I need to bring a little notebook with me), but it was a perfect segue into the next course, the ibérico presa. Wow. Just wow. White asparagus has got to be one of my favorite vegetables next to artichokes, when done exceptionally well, as they most definitely were. The piquillo peppers and pickled shallots complemented the pork, which was so soft, perfectly. I definitely died and went to heaven at this point in the meal. This is probably when I should've stopped eating because after this point, still pure delight, but my poor stomach was soooooo full. Next was another small bite to lead into my next course, also incredible. Wish I could describe it. My next course was the European sea bass. Now, sea bass is my favorite fish of all time. The perfectly crisp skin, the red onion jam, the spicy sweet balance was perfection. I loved every bite. The olive oil potatoes were a perfect complement. And at this point, I was bursting at the seems... but I still ordered dessert, because you only live once and food is one of the great joys of life. For dessert, I had the crema. The honeycomb on top, the cherries, all leading to a perfect finish. A time was had. Thanks El Five
