I dined in one night and I have to admit the food is genuinely amazing. But the service we received…read morethat night was painnnnfully slow. So slow we could've gone to another restaurant, been sat, and eaten a meal before we ate our meal here. When we walked in, there was only another table or two seated inside so we were like okay not busy, we'll be in and out, but that was far from the case. There was only one server that night that did almost literally everything, and it was hard to find or flag her down. More people were starting to come in and to our dismay THEIR orders were being taken first after we'd been ready and just sitting there for literally more than 15-20 minutes. Ridiculous is an understatement; we were also sitting right in front of the kitchen so I don't understand how she kept passing by us without batting an eye. There were tables that came after us and left before us, truly disappointing. At one point when we were finally able to get her attention, she said "let me drop this water off and I'll be right back." Spoiler alert - she didn't. She dropped it off and went to tend to other tables before finally coming back to us. Besides all of that, the food was good and eased our frustration a little bit. We ordered the trio dip as a starter and circling back to the service complaint for a second, we thought she would've put it in before more guests started pouring in, but she didn't!! So we were left waiting with no food whatsoever, everything ended up coming out at the same time. Anyway, moving on - the food was seasoned very well, and the flavor was all there, perfect and just the way I expected. It satisfied my cravings and I have no complaints about that. Overall, I think the establishment could be a little better. It's not a huge dining area so I didn't expect service to take that long. I don't mean to be harsh and I understand there was only one server, but I don't remember waiting so long for my order to be taken at a restaurant. We were there for definitely more than 1 hour 50 minutes for a party of 2. I look forward to eating here again but perhaps another location.

When we entered the vibe was relatable to the name of the restaurant but after a few minutes we heard Bollywood songs and I love Bollywood songs but I feel like the vibe of the restaurant should relate to the cuisine and ambiance. It automatically gives an impression that the restaurant isn't Greek or Lebanese for example. Anyway, we had ordered kibeh and lentil soup for appetizers. The lentil soup was the worst lentil soup I've ever had it was frozen we asked them to heat it but it still tasted disgusting. I couldn't eat it. The kibeh was alright the dip with the kibeh was good. For entrees, we ordered the chicken shawarma plate and combo kebabs. The plates came with a salad the dressing was interesting but I'm not a fan of feta cheese so I didn't have the salad. The shrimps and chicken kebab of the combo kebabs were not bad I really liked the shrimps. The hummus was okay and the rice was very bland. The service was quick I believe because everything felt like it was pre-cooked except for the kebabs but the beef kebab wasn't cooked entirely one of the pieces it was raw. The shawarma was not good at all! Very disappointing Our bill was $60 and we were charged a 2.5% fees for credit card!

When we arrived on a Tuesday evening, it was empty other than maybe one other family. When we entered we were told to pick a seat and then given the menus. The second I saw the menu it seemed a bit expensive- I was looking at the vegetarian plate where you can pick 5 which was for $25 I think- I got falafels, tazeki, hummus, another spread, pickled turnips. They didn't have many other options that were appetizing- I'm not into the eggplant or okra. While waiting for the food the waitresses were sitting on their phones chatting laughing, I thought it was unprofessional, that's not what you want to see when you go to a nice place. We were given salad- the salad already had dressing on it which was spicy! Me and my friend could not figure out what it is - it was tangy spicy I think from garlic more chemically tasting rather than Cheyenne spicy. A bit too spicy for both of us. I would have wished they put the dressing on the side so we can add on our own. The food arrived and was given pita bread as well which was nice. The food was not flavorful, the hummus tasted Bland, falafels were actually pretty good but only were given . The pita bread I was hoping was gonna be fluffy but this was so thin and chewy didnt like it. Everything wasn't to my liking or lacking something except the falafels which I only had two of. I think the falafel wrap might have been a better option but due to the price I won't be back.

We started with a sampler platter of appetizers, and let me tell you: you could tell the dolmas ("grape leaves" on the menu) were made fresh that morning, the hummus was delicious, the salad was refreshing, and the kibbeh and falafel were tasty too. The lamb sandwich was so good; I don't usually like pickles, but I did in that sandwich! We went for a late lunch/early dinner (3pm ish) and it was very quiet inside. Our server was conversational and fun! Highly recommend: go here if you want to support an under-appreciated Mediterranean restaurant in the area.

I was eager to give it a try, so tonight my family chose our dishes for a takeout order and looked forward to something great for dinner. Based on reviews I ordered falafel, kibbe, and chicken shawarma. My husband had a gyro and my daughter ordered the feta dip (which turned out to be cubes of feta and nothing for dipping. Unfortunately, we all agreed it was very okay. Everything was palatable, but it lacked the sparkle of meals we've eaten at other local eateries and at our Greek friend's house. My husband and I had the great good fortune to be able to travel in Istanbul and Greece over the summer, and the food was...better. I understand that region matters; perhaps I am not as enthusiastic about this version of food from that part of the world. One woman's opinion shouldn't spoil other peoples bliss, but I'm looking forward to my next visit to Wael's. I'll appreciate the delicious kibbe better than before.

Not a problem, but some may not be, Overall the food was yummy, just a little over priced and, the service was top notch, clean, just slow and who knows they might work it out soon. I ended up meeting the new owner and he was very personable, great eye contact and asked questions about the food and service. I genuinely feel they cared this is why I am leaving this review so they can improve on what they need help with.

Landlords are often real pos scumbags to begin with, which is why several great, popular restaurants close as time goes by. Cafe Red Onion on Kirby had that same problem years ago. Awesome, delicious, creative dishes and desserts, along with very kind Rafael the owner being a pure class act. I went here last night ordering the # 74 Lamb Adana with rice n salad, plus an extra skewer. I also got another # 74 togo to share with family, bc that's it. Will they open another establishment similar in the future is completely unknown. Istanbul Grill will be missed and was the oldest Turkish restaurant still standing. The lamb kebab skewers were so delicious, well-seasoned, juicy, not gamy and had that charcoal / charbroiled aroma to them, which all kabobs are really supposed to have like TX Bbq is to smokiness taste. The rice was really fresh like the meat in its own right with a buttery flavor to it. The salad was tangy and refreshing. Some other Turkish restaurants might make some dishes good, but never execute the lamb adana entree right, due to heat source n lack of seasoning. The service was very welcoming, friendly and efficient. Some places tend to not give a damn about many customers when they're about to close, but this place was always on point. Best of luck to the people running it and their staff.
