We went on a Friday as this place was a great location, walking distance from our downtown hotel. The first thing I tried were the falafels, which were dry and tasted old. I was a bit disappointed. My boyfriend wouldn't even finish 1. Next we tried our plates. The plates were packed with food, which was great for the price. They ran out of regular hummus, but my lamb with the spicy hummus and rice was good, the lamb was tender, and I loved the veggies in the rice. The lentil salad was also really good. My boyfriend's chicken breast was pretty dry, the only way we could eat it was with hummus. Overall, the place is good. I'd go again if I were in downtown Houston, the lamb and rice and lentils were great, but I would avoid the chicken breast and falafels.

I ordered a chicken/gyro combination platter with sides of garbanzo beans, tzatziki, and spicy hummus. The chicken and gyro tasted decent but all three sides could have used more flavor. Spreading the sides on the complementary pita only helped a bit. The food might have still scraped by with 4 stars but service fell short as well. I only wanted 2 sides but had been charged for 3 due to language barriers with one employee. I specifically asked if the sauces (e.g. spicy hummus, tzatziki) would count as a side and the employee responded no. A second employee handled my order at checkout and explained that the sauces do in fact count as sides (but the saffron rice... doesn't). $15+tax seems fair for 1 entree and 2 sides, but I didn't appreciate paying $2.15 for a third side that I was misled about. One thing I will give this restaurant props for is maintaining a clean dining area, but it's not enough to make me consider returning.

First, as in few years ago, I had to decide whether I wanted regular or skimmed milk... now in addition to that I have to decide whether I want milk at all..... its tough to live healthy!....) and no ... this comment has nothing to do with this specific coffee shop ... Initially placed an order for Iced Adeni, then when I understood that it was pre- made, I changed my order to the Latte. This is the first time I am trying a Pistachio Latte, with normal sweet ( Another thing to decide nowadays- sugar, no sugar, honey, stevia.... ohh the list continues...... ) Actually loved it. They add some spice called Haraz spice. It was really nice. Different from any coffee I have ever tried before. Haraz is slowly becoming my fav stopover. We ordered one Turkish and one Saudi and took a seat. Also, ordered a Bee Bite. Shortly after ordering, we were told the Saudi takes about 15 minutes to prepare. Ended up being sweet for us and next time we would order either one or no sugar. Now the Bee bites, oh the bites. Remember having breads, pastries filled with cheese in Turkey and Greece and this was very similar. Topped with Sesame and Black seeds with pieces of cream cheese inside-comes with honey and we put just a little bit as this bread stands on its own. delicious and crave worthy! 2nd visit we picked up some of their milk cake slices-Biscoff (grabbed the last one), Pistachio and Chocolate-all tasty and were enjoyed. Lines of people waiting in all sorts of weather for some chicken and rice speaks to why they were so popular Then they went on this massive expansion all around the country. I was more than excited when they opened up shop in my hood. This Halal Guys is located in a shopping center right off 288 but kind of hidden. I think a street facing space would benefit them. Parking is always plentiful. My visits here have always been pleasant with great customer service. Halal Guys is known for their famous platters of chicken and rice or lamb or beef and rice. They also have falafel if you want to go vegetarian. Now that they have brick and mortars, they have lots of other options like wraps, loaded fries, and wings. I never steer away from the OG platter. It comes with a base of seasoned rice, lettuce and tomatoes, protein of choice and their famous white and hot sauce. In the carts they slather the sauces on, but now you can get packs of sauce to dress your own. Be very careful with the hot sauce as it packs some delicious, but very spicy heat. You can also add additional toppings like peppers, onions, jalapenos and olives. The platters can look deceiving and may not look big, but you can easily have two meals off a regular platter. I typically go chicken for my protein, but you can't sleep on the beef gyro or lamb. Mix everything together and you have a perfect bite of deliciousness. I've had a few of their brick and mortar locations, but nothing compares to getting it from the food cart on the streets of NYC. These days, there is alot of similar type restaurants all over, but my heart belongs to Halal Guys. I will definitely be back.

We had both been set on eating here so we decided to wait. Once the rice was ready, we were happy with the presentation, size and quality of the food. We ordered a side of falafel on the side and it was crispy and fresh. The lettuce was also crisp and not soggy as we've experienced at similar places in the past. The staff was quite nice. Food was good. I enjoy their white sauce. The only complaint was not having rice ready and the unexpected wait as a result. Otherwise, we will return again and hope to have another yummy bowl.

When we entered the vibe was relatable to the name of the restaurant but after a few minutes we heard Bollywood songs and I love Bollywood songs but I feel like the vibe of the restaurant should relate to the cuisine and ambiance. It automatically gives an impression that the restaurant isn't Greek or Lebanese for example. Anyway, we had ordered kibeh and lentil soup for appetizers. The lentil soup was the worst lentil soup I've ever had it was frozen we asked them to heat it but it still tasted disgusting. I couldn't eat it. The kibeh was alright the dip with the kibeh was good. For entrees, we ordered the chicken shawarma plate and combo kebabs. The plates came with a salad the dressing was interesting but I'm not a fan of feta cheese so I didn't have the salad. The shrimps and chicken kebab of the combo kebabs were not bad I really liked the shrimps. The hummus was okay and the rice was very bland. The service was quick I believe because everything felt like it was pre-cooked except for the kebabs but the beef kebab wasn't cooked entirely one of the pieces it was raw. The shawarma was not good at all! Very disappointing Our bill was $60 and we were charged a 2.5% fees for credit card!

When we arrived on a Tuesday evening, it was empty other than maybe one other family. When we entered we were told to pick a seat and then given the menus. The second I saw the menu it seemed a bit expensive- I was looking at the vegetarian plate where you can pick 5 which was for $25 I think- I got falafels, tazeki, hummus, another spread, pickled turnips. They didn't have many other options that were appetizing- I'm not into the eggplant or okra. While waiting for the food the waitresses were sitting on their phones chatting laughing, I thought it was unprofessional, that's not what you want to see when you go to a nice place. We were given salad- the salad already had dressing on it which was spicy! Me and my friend could not figure out what it is - it was tangy spicy I think from garlic more chemically tasting rather than Cheyenne spicy. A bit too spicy for both of us. I would have wished they put the dressing on the side so we can add on our own. The food arrived and was given pita bread as well which was nice. The food was not flavorful, the hummus tasted Bland, falafels were actually pretty good but only were given . The pita bread I was hoping was gonna be fluffy but this was so thin and chewy didnt like it. Everything wasn't to my liking or lacking something except the falafels which I only had two of. I think the falafel wrap might have been a better option but due to the price I won't be back.

So slow we could've gone to another restaurant, been sat, and eaten a meal before we ate our meal here. When we walked in, there was only another table or two seated inside so we were like okay not busy, we'll be in and out, but that was far from the case. There was only one server that night that did almost literally everything, and it was hard to find or flag her down. More people were starting to come in and to our dismay THEIR orders were being taken first after we'd been ready and just sitting there for literally more than 15-20 minutes. Ridiculous is an understatement; we were also sitting right in front of the kitchen so I don't understand how she kept passing by us without batting an eye. There were tables that came after us and left before us, truly disappointing. At one point when we were finally able to get her attention, she said "let me drop this water off and I'll be right back." Spoiler alert - she didn't. She dropped it off and went to tend to other tables before finally coming back to us. Besides all of that, the food was good and eased our frustration a little bit. We ordered the trio dip as a starter and circling back to the service complaint for a second, we thought she would've put it in before more guests started pouring in, but she didn't!! So we were left waiting with no food whatsoever, everything ended up coming out at the same time. Anyway, moving on - the food was seasoned very well, and the flavor was all there, perfect and just the way I expected. It satisfied my cravings and I have no complaints about that. Overall, I think the establishment could be a little better. It's not a huge dining area so I didn't expect service to take that long. I don't mean to be harsh and I understand there was only one server, but I don't remember waiting so long for my order to be taken at a restaurant. We were there for definitely more than 1 hour 50 minutes for a party of 2. I look forward to eating here again but perhaps another location.

I had heard great things about the cafe at this new location, and had even tried their former location on Hillcroft a couple years ago as part of TooGoodToGo. While the concept is casual, the restaurant itself is very polished and feels like an upscale cafe. There is plenty of seating indoors as well as a huge patio outdoors. We opted to sit on the patio on a (rare) nice Houston day. The tables were spacious and the patio seating was very comfortable. We ordered the Kofta Kabob and Chicken Kabob specialty platters. These platters come with your choice of two sides - we went for the Fried Cauliflower, Tabouli Salad, Hummus, and Muhammara. The meats were so good and hit the spot. The Kofta Kabob had a complexity of flavor to it; so many spices that blended together really well. I will say that the post-meal burps of these spices were...smellier than usual. The Chicken Kabob was also flavorful and had a nice smokiness to it from the grill. I liked the slight crunch provided by the char along the edges. If I knew how to make chicken like this, it would be my daily meal prep! The Fried Cauliflower had a nice sear to it with lots of flavor. The Tabouli Salad and Hummus were comparable to those I've had at other Mediterranean places. The Muhammara was my favorite of the sides! It is a dip like hummus but also incorporates tomatoes, red bell peppers, and onions, among other spices; there was so much flavor to it and I could snack on this all day. The included pita bread was large, fluffy, and piping hot - perfect for dipping between the two side dips we got. Service was quick and friendly. The employee taking our order behind the counter was friendly and gave us the recommendation for the Muhammara - great rec. When our food was brought out and we had questions on some of the ingredients, the staff was very knowledgeable and knew right away what everything was.

The food is flavorful and seems more authentic as it's family owned and staff is very welcoming, helpful and friendly. We went on Saturday, got two Combo Dinners as you choose two mains and two sides. Upon delivery to our table (you order at counter) I was pleased to see the generous portion sizes then as we dug in, the flavors were yum! Even though there with many people there, there was plenty of seating and a nice sized patio we should have sat and enjoyed the cool breeze as it's on the East side of the restaurant. I don't think beer/wine or available so it's probably BYOB, didn't ask. The sweets looked really good. Abddallah's will certainly be one of our regular dining spots from now on. We should have tried it sooner!
