5 stars We saw the flamenco show on Saturday, Oct. 1. 2022. Yvette, the cantaora, is amazing and does a wonderful presentation of the art and history of flamenco. Her voice is pure gitana and she truly brings one home to Andalucia. The guitarist was excellent ad the two female dancers had soul. We also liked the belly dancer, who managed to combine cuteness with style, which is not easy to do. The food was very good, and the server made sure we were not distracted from the performance. During this covid crisis it's gotten incredibly hard to get good service anywhere, let alone a sit down restaurant on a busy Friday night. We sat at the bar at 6:25 and no one even acknowledged we even existed for 18 min... we finally got our first round and wanted to place a food order, once again..... The food was good but the service was so bad. There are few servers and many customers. We waited 30 mins for servers to take our card with the check. And still nobody came to us. We needed to bring our credit card to the server directly at the end. They even charged us 5% of our check for improving their employees. So ridiculous.. read more

We live down the street and finally decided to try it because they mailed out coupons and we were shocked with how fantastic brunch was. we had the brunch tapas and the waffle sandwich both were A+. literally some of the best food in Costa Mesa. our server Christopherson was excellent and made the experience so fun. we will defiantly be back soon. read more

The food was pretty good overall and the atmosphere is fun and lively. We were going to just get the paella but our server suggested getting an appetizer, saying the paella does take some time. But then the main course came out wayyy before the appetizer and the appetizer came out way late, too a point we had to wait and it wasn't even part of the meal. Ambiance, location, food, and the music are all great. the service is slow, drinks take 15 min to get which is a serious buzz kill. However, I leave this review because the the A/C is always turned off and there are no ceiling fans so in the summer the restaurant is like an oven. Everyone including the staff were sweating, the talented performer was wiping his shaved head and face as he was drenched in sweat, the waiters' face were sweaty, and we were so hot that we finally could not bear the heat and although we were loving it to stay another hour and dance with the great music had to just leave. My husband and I are always looking for places to eat that meet up dietary needs. Sevilla had a vegetarian menu. Staff is very knowledgeable in the ingredients used in their dishes and can help you omit things if necessary. The ceviche was wonderful and very filling for an appetizer. Great cuts of halibut and shrimp. I loved it. My husband and I did not know about the menu till after we ordered otherwise we would have had more to choose from. Lol! Ask upfront before you order and sitting outside by the fire pit is gorgeous! We will return to try more. Staff was great! Our server Kelsey was so sweet and attentive to all our questions. Oh! And the Sangria was so yummy! Next time we will be ordering the tamarind margarita, it looked good and the tamarind is pickled in the tequila in house. Cafe Sevilla is one of my favorite places to go !!!! The gigantic Bloody Mary's are my husband's favorite. I, in turn, chose Bottomless Mimosas OH Man were they good and they kept coming !!! Lisa made sure we were well taken care of! Thank you Lisa my husband had this gigantic chicken skewer , I'm telling you it hung like a huge banana tree! I had the tapas they were really good, which I indulged in Calamares, chorizo empanadas, Spanish style pouting, mushroom, and fig cocas . We also had Spanish fries and short ribs glzed to perfection ! For desert, we had chocolate cake with raspberries OMG it was so good ! Definitely never expected such a bad experience. Reservations were at 8. We were a bit early 745. The host told us he had some tables off to the side they set up and we could sit there now if we wanted. We didn't mind. We sat down the server clearly saw us. A female came about 10 minutes after we sat and took our order and stated she wasn't our server the male was and she was just getting our order. We sat there for another 15 minutes before we got our drinks. Nit from our server either. I guess the girl is now talking care of us. So we ordered the the 5 course dinner for 2 with a pitcher of sangria. Food started coming out quick which was good. They all tasted great. As we got our flatbread 3 girl walk to the pillar by us and on squatted down and started vomiting. This went on for about 10 minutes. No joke. Our server came around and I asked if she could clean it up. She took care of it but come on. Gross . Finally our paella comes to the table. Looks good except a big black hair on my calamari. Of course I sent it back. The new one came out and was burnt on the bottom. I'm assuming it was from trying to cook it so quickly. Dessert shows up. Than our bill. If you don't care sharing the table with other people, this is a good place for you. This was my first time at this location. I've visited the one in Long Beach and loved it, so I thought of coming to this one. Even thought food is tasty, I must say I was very disappointed about sharing the table with other people (specially during this time). Is just uncomfortable and awkward having other people in front of you while eating. If you don't mind, I'm sure you'll love it. I mean, food and ambience was perfect. Customer service was great too; they have great dishes and everything, but sharing tables isn't the best idea. That is the only reason why I gave them two stars. I wished they were more careful :( I mean, you can tell people feel uncomfortable when they realize they have to share the same booth with you. I don't understand why they would do this. I came here with with a reservation for 4. They put us in a booth that was clearly designed for 6 people and then waitress told us that another party will be sitting with us soon. So we were expected to make room for 8 people in a 6 person booth, half of them total strangers. Obviously we asked to be moved, so then they moved us to a table that was STILL only designed for 3 people at the absolute most and my section of the chair didn't even reach the table. The server, Anastasia, took a few minutes getting over to us, once she did she explained the menu, took our order. The appetizers came out pretty quickly but Anastasia was no where to be found. Our food was coming in at different times which she later explained it was served like this as it is "coming out fresh". I didn't make this a big deal since the food runners seemed to be very friendly. I decided to write this review because, like I mentioned, Anastasia never returned to check on us. She cleaned up our plates and never returned with the check. We waited about another half hour or longer. We tried calling out another server but she just walked past us. We decided to get up only to find Anastasia hanging out at the host stand. I asked her if she was going to ever get us our check and she responded "I didn't know you wanted your check". I rarely take the time to post any reviews and only do it when I feel the experience was above excellent and last night at Sevilla in Costa Mesa was just that--from beginning to end. We had a handicap person in our party who requires a wheelchair. Upon arriving to the restaurant we were greeted by the host Jhonny and immediately made feel welcome with his friendly and professional personality. He showed us inside the restaurant and around the patio to ensure we had the best table to accommodate my sister in her wheelchair. Once we sat down at our table we had the same experience with our server Ryan. He was very helpful recommending stuff from the happy hour menu which was perfect since we got there at 530pm and the happy hour ended at 630pm. The Sangria and tapas were delicious and very good price. Ryan was super friendly and made sure we had what we needed all throughout our dinner. To top off our night, Ryan brought out a yummy dessert with a sparkler candle for the birthday girl in our party. It was something we weren't expecting as most restaurants don't do this nowadays. It was such a great surprise for her. Ryan and Jhonny then came out with a Happy Birthday sign for her to take a picture with and offered to take pictures for us. They made her feel extra special-- she loved the attention! Johnny and Ryan went above and beyond to make what would have been a normal dinner night to a special birthday dinner! They are PROFESSIONAL, FRIENDLY, PERSONABLE, ATTENTIVE and know how to treat their guests in the absolute best way to ensure they enjoy their time at Sevilla. It is evident they enjoy their work and transmit that to the guests. I must also mention that we went on a Friday and were able to enjoy the live Spanish guitar, flamenco dancers and belly dancer-- amazing live entertainment.
