The service is sincere and REALLY knowledgeable. Their love of their craft is infectious and makes you fall in love with going out to eat all over again. We went to Lido Bottle Works for a girls' dinner last night and had the weirdest combination of AMAZING food and slightly off service. First, the food was seriously 10/10. We shared a bunch of things and there really wasn't a bad dish. The hummus with tomatoes and crispy bread was delicious, and we absolutely loved the meatballs in the slightly spicy curry sauce. We also had the pepper pasta, clams (one of my friends had never even tried clams and loved them!), cacio e pepe, and Mary's chicken. The chicken was Korean-style and came with kimchi green beans that somehow tasted a little like dill pickles -- in the best possible way. We loved them! The service, though, was just...odd. My bestie and I both ordered dirty martinis with blue cheese olives. Mine came with them, hers didn't, and neither martini was nearly dirty enough. Once we got some extra olive brine they were much better. But the funniest part was when we reminded our server that my friend was still missing her blue cheese olives. She came back with a skewer of them IN HER HAND and just handed it directly to my friend. No plate, no napkin, nothing. We all just looked at each other like, "Did that really just happen?" So overall, I'd absolutely come back because the food was THAT good. The kitchen gets an easy 5 stars from me. The whole experience was incredibly disappointing. Between waiting to be seated, waiting to be served, and waiting for the food, we spent about an hour waiting -- the food alone took around 40 minutes. The chicken sandwich was actually good, but unfortunately that was the only highlight. We ordered the special chorizo hash, and it was really bad. There was barely any chorizo -- probably less than one sausage in the entire dish -- and the rest was just a huge amount of large-cut potatoes. The potatoes weren't crispy, and one of the eggs wasn't cooked properly. The cocktail was even worse. I ordered the Dragon Coconut cocktail, and it tasted like a milkshake with a strong alcohol aftertaste. Really unpleasant. I love Lido Bottle Works and generally think this place is underrated, but I have always enjoyed their food. It's a small space but really nice casual vibe in the Marina and love how dog friendly it is. The reason I'm downgrading my rating is because we recently tried Sunday brunch here for the first time and service really missed the mark. It started off great but the food took unreasonably long to come out for both the main entrees that we ordered as well as the dessert. The server even came out to apologize for the long wait time when we were waiting for our dessert. Took awhile to get someone's attention to ask for and process our check too. The food for brunch, as always, was very good. I liked the egg and guanciale croissant I ordered, though I wish the poached eggs were prepared with runnier yolk. The yolk was virtually well done. My husband enjoyed his burger. The sticky toffee pudding was good but much too sweet. I'm not really into really sweet desserts so I don't think I'd order it again. We've come here a few times, although sometimes the way could be long, we've had in general very good service, and the food has always met our expectations. The ambience is beautiful, with the ocean and the sea breeze around you. If you come at night, it could be a little chilly, however, they offer a blankets to keep their customers warm! It is also a spot for celebrating special occasions. They usually have special menus for holidays. I tried a three-course prix fixe dinner with salad (good size), steak, and dessert. It was $70 and I felt it's quite worth the price. Given today's price levels, I think this place is "affordable high-end dining" - where you do spend more than usual, but the food and experience are rewarding. Certainly seafood is one of their specialties, however, we do like their steak and pork. Parking in this area is very difficult. The only option is to park in the Lido garage. The restaurant does validate however, customers sometimes need to ask for it. Our waiter was nice enough to have reminded us about that. A great luncheon place. Not only was the Jidori Chicken Sandwich bite-perfect, but all the things around it were pretty good as well. The only thing that could've made the tomato bisque better is if it had included a grilled cheese sandwich with it. The same with the dessert options as well. The only two edible ones I saw had one troubling ingredient each--one had nuts on it, which is not ideal, and the other had mallow all over it, which is truly inedible. Otherwise, the desserts would've been perfect as well. The service was excellent. It really impressed me how often they had our refills in hand before us needing to ask and how quickly they responded to other requests. The ambience was good too. We thought that since we ordered a burger and pasta that the bao buns would be the main dish of the evening flavor wise. But when I tell you that the burger...dare we say...the best we've ever had? Strong statement but we both agree that we can't think of an another burger that tops this one. Insanely flavorful and unique, and the juiciness is to die for. Genuinely you need to try it for yourself. No sauce needed but have to say that the coconut aioli is INSANE. The chorizo bolognese is sooooo good. I wouldn't expect a gnocchi like pasta but it just worked so well. Very flavorful and tons of meat. Our waitress, Kim, was amazing and was so quick to bring our food and drinks. We all wanted to go out after but we didn't finish our meals and felt our breath stank as a result of the food we didn't even finish. Why would tortellini have a pile of raw, white onions on top? A salad without any mention of onions was FULL of red onion. There were 6 of us so there was an automatic 20% tip added. Which would be fine if it were just for the server. But the food was not good. In addition to the onions on everything, there was some chicken skin on the wedge salad that 2 of us got that was inedible. Won't be rushing back and bummed at the cost of the meal. We had to constantly ask another waitress to grab our waitress attention just so we could order and to check on our food. We were left sitting probably 30 minutes or more for our food. And our food came out incorrect. I'm not sure what was wrong with our waitress but she barely spoke more than a few words to us, wasn't friendly, and really didn't seem to want to be there. She seemed super grumpy and never apologized for the long wait or offered to go check on anything for us. Everyone else who worked there actually had decent service and tried to help us out. Finally we flagged down someone who ended up being the manager and he did his best to rectify the situation and take care of us which we did appreciate.
