found this spot from instagram and i was surprised this spot didn't have many reviews nor was it busy on a friday afternoon! it's a cute, cozy establishment with both indoor and outdoor seating but definitely gives off european vibes. i believe our server was gabby and she was super sweet and helpful with recommendations for drinks and food as it was our first time. everything we tried really was delicious and you can really taste the quality of their ingredients as they take pride in being farm to table! appetizers: -bread and butter: freshly baked bread with chunky salt over their creamy and light butter but also with their extremely addicting olive oil -charred cabbage: perfectly charred and tender cabbage with such delicious yogurt and romesco sauce, not too heavy either with light citrus and spiced notes entrees: -lemon and sumac chicken: suchhhh a juicy chicken with fork tender potatoes laid on top of a garlic butter sauce but the addition of the cherry tomatoes and pickled onions really helped with cutting into the super savory and heaviness of this dish -prime hanger steak: asked for a medium rare cook (could've probably done a rare cook as some pieces were bordering medium well) but it was all still very tender and juicy and the roasted garlic cloves were great additions as well! loved the mustard seed sauce, paired well with the meat and carrots were great as well, some were a lil uncooked from their larger size but not a big issue a great find and didn't feel sick after this huge meal, so we'll absolutely be back again! read more

Very cute restaurant in a very cute plaza with Great overlooking views of the street and mountains. Our waitress was very polite as well and I think their offer of custom making a drink to their guests favored tastes is a very fun and interesting spin. Seems like a good place for regulars as I heard people laughing in the back and as some left they told us how amazing everything was. Unfortunately, I just don't think the food was as amazing as they thought. Both the cabbage and carrots just didn't have crisp or caramelization for something roasted I think both could have done better with a longer amount of time for better crispiness. The cabbage in general I actually can't recommend, a hassle to cut, very mushy, and overall not the best tasting? The carrots definitely also had a taste to them that I believe some people could like, but were also not for me (a pickle lover). Both dishes were also extremely acidic, think the cabbage could have done better with a cream based sauce on top. The carrots being acidic makes sense since they're pickled though. The steak sandwich was very good, however, nice price and good taste. Wish there were some leafy greens with it (why I ordered the cabbage). This place seems like a hoot and a holler for some people. My girlfriend and I ate here last night. The food and service were excellent, but what stood out the most was how nice the restaurant and surrounding area is. I say nice instead of fancy, because this place is nice. It's not trying to be fancy and stuck up. It's a relaxing and enjoyable environment with good music and an awesome view of the bay from the patio. We ordered burgers which seemed hand crafted; they were delicious, and most importantly a great value for the price. Had no idea this restaurant even existed and I've been to that center so many times. Saw the glowing reviews so decided to visit for a girl's dinner a couple weeks ago. Had a reservation for a Friday evening and got seated right away. Cute little restaurant and bar area and our waitress was attentive and friendly. Saw numerous reviews saying to try the carrots as a starter so I ordered them and they were not like anything I've ever had. Definitely recommend getting a side of these for the table! I got the steak sandwich which was absolutely delicious and a massive portion. My two girlfriends got the salmon and chicken and all agreed they were delicious. We were hoping to leave room for dessert but not this visit. We also tried a carrot vodka cocktail and a celery tequila cocktail that were both so refreshing and unique. I came here for a bday dinner the other weekend. I have heard lots of good things about verde so I was really excited to try. The vibe is so cute and the service was great. We ordered a variety of appetizers for the group, including the cabbage, salmon crudo, bread, beets, carrots, and onion dip. The flavors were okay but I noticed everything was severely under salted so I had to ask the server for Salt. The flavors are almost there, I just think they need to be tweaked a bit to take them over the top. read more

Had a good experience here. Our server was really nice. They offered sparkling water on the house. You can also bring in your own wine for no corkage fee which is great. Our apps tasted good. My husband loved his salmon but said the romesco sauce didn't add much flavor. There were no vegetarian entrees offered, even though it showed it on the website menu. The website menu also states slightly lower prices. Would be nice if they matched up. I ended up getting a vegetarian power bowl. Which was good, but had a lot of snap peas which I also ordered as an app. Had i known, I would have ordered another app. Overall decent experience. The vibe is nice but not upscale in an uppedy way. Came here with some coworkers after an event near by. Appears to be a farm to table kinda place. The menu is on the smaller side but has good choices for mains. A good list of cocktails but was saddened by the limited selection of non-alcoholic choices. Being a farm to table and local focus restaurant I'd wished they would provide a more inventive non alcoholic selection. We shared the fired cabbage and the cauliflower. Funny enough two of us had the hanger steak and two the protein bowl. Staff is friendly and attentive. Water glasses were always full and the server came by to ensure everything tasted good. The space itself is dark and cozy. Very much like a little farm house you'd find in the country side, albeit modern and minimal. There is parking on the upper level lot that would get you to the front door a lot easier than the maze of stairs and hallways from the lower lot. They were hosting a wine tasting dinner that evening, but that didn't seem to affect service to the rest of the restaurant. If you are nearby and craving some clean honest food I'd definitely check it out. read more

We came to this place because we were in the area. I got the steak and my fiancée got the pork chop. The steak was made perfectly medium-rare, but it was on the salty side. The pork chop was really good, and whatever sauce they use with it is really good. We were in the upstairs area because the lower level opens at 5 p.m. I would give this place another try, but I will have to make sure to mention holding the salt on the steak. read more

This review is a couple of months past due - but, better late than never! A friend had recommended Verde Restaurant after a hike, and I honestly didn't have any expectations. The interior looked cozy and cute - with outdoor seating as well; we opted to sit inside. They have a slightly small menu, which was fine. She insisted on ordering the pickled carrots - so of course we had to start with that. The green sauce on top was absolutely delicious. Onto the food - I ordered the Lemon & Sumac Half Chicken which was full of flavor and nothing short of amazing. Her Rainbow Trout was just as good, making us feel good about what we're putting into our bodies. First time at verde bar and the vibes were great. We sat down in a cozy corner and realized it was pasta night. Our bartender/host Anthony was so incredibly helpful and really broke down the menu down to the drinks and pasta. We ended up getting a bolognese, Caesar salad, and drinks for the table. Anthony let us know the pasta noodles were actually from a local vendor who imports the flour from Italy. You could tell based off the texture how fresh it was. I can not emphasize how much the service impacted our first experience. 10/10 will be absolutely coming here again and bringing friends and family. I had seen some reviews so suggested to try this place for a birthday dinner celebration. Located in a strip mall with plenty of parking. Inside felt warm and cozy. They allow free corkage for a max of 2 bottles. We shared various plates so was able to try multiple menu items. My fave was the trout as it's something you don't see on many menus. Never heard of this restaurant. Was a totally random find without yelp. Was like reliving the 1990's when you didn't care about other's opinions. Restaurant is on the second floor. If you don't want to deal with stairs then park behind the restaurant which is at the same level. Apparently ground floor has a lounge with live music but not when we went for lunch. Comfortable relaxing atmosphere with stellar service. Menu changes with the seasons. We started with their sweet and sour shishito peppers which were delightful. I also went with the "cigarettes and coffee" cocktail which was a rye and amaro drink. If you like Manhattan's you'll enjoy this. My wife had the fennel encrusted pork chop served with a whole mustard sauce. WOW. I probably taste tested 1/3rd her chop because I couldn't get enough. Truly the best pork chop either of us have had. Cooked to perfection with so much flavor. They brine it which kept it so moist. It was served with green beans. I am definitely ordering it next time. Great price too. I went with the salmon which was served with the skin. Super crispy skin yet moist meat. Served with I think was a curry sauce but not 100% sure. Was delicious whatever it was. The food was great - we got the roasted carrots, cabbage, pork chop, trout, cheeseburger, Caesar salad and cheesecake. All were delicious and flavorful, some were a bit on the salty side like the sauce for the cabbage and the pork chop seasoning but still really good. The cheeseburger and fries were surprisingly good. I liked that the fries were kind of soft and didn't feel like they were fried too long. The service was so friendly and attentive!! A neighbor recommended I check out Verde. A little hidden, I say that because I passed it a few times without even knowing it was there. I did not Google them so the name definitely threw me off. I was expecting Latin cuisine because of the name "Verde". Any who.... Started off with the "Charred Cabbage" which I enjoyed the most. I wouldve liked to see a topping to add a crunch/ texture to the dish but nonetheless this dish was solid. Ordered a glass of Pinot Noir that tasted like black berries, and "sauvage". Had a balanced finish and paired well with my chicken entree. Out came the half chicken which was smaller than expected, not as crispy as I would've liked but because the Cabbage was so bomb I won't complain about my entree. Got to try the "Really?Carrot? cocktail which was amazing. For some reason I tasted green apple but hey; who would've thought carrot and liquor pair well together. Shout out to who ever curated that drink. Lastly my waiter recommended a cheesecake. I forgot what the topping was but it tasted like orange marmalade. Took a few bites to grow on me. Apparently they have a bar downstairs that serves the full menu - I would definitely come back to experience that. Upstairs the dining area is a bit small - I think I counted less than 20 tables. Parties of 8 or more should call ahead just in case they're busy. Food does take a while to hit the table, the restaurant was empty and each dish took a while to come out. As a server who admires chef driven - farm to table - philosophies I don't mind the wait. Usually these restaurants don't have pre cooked items waiting to be reheated upon ordering. This is a small hidden gem that I would definitely come back and explore more eats with. My bill was about $95 but I did notice my drinks were priced more than my entree. My girls and I came here for dinner and overall had a great time. The hostess was super sweet, gave me water, and even walked me downstairs to take a look at the bar while I waited for the rest of my party. We ordered several dishes that we shared from the menu. Though some of the apps had a unique look, they all were flavorful and very tasty. I especially liked the Crudo, but wish it came with some type of toast. The main dishes were also delicious, so food is 10/10. Loved my cocktail, which was recommended by our server. She was awesome 10/10. The only reason why I removed 2 stars is because they had closed the bar downstairs early at 10:30. The whole reason why we came here to begin with was to have dinner upstairs then make our way down to the bar after dinner. I had called while making the reservations to make sure the bar would be open until 12, as stated on the site. And the person that I talked to assured me it would. So because of this, we all had to find and drive to a new place, which is exactly what we did not want to do. So, besides the bar closing early snafu, I do recommend this place for the service and food. read more

Onion Spread 10/10 Fantastic appetizer!!!! I liked this so much more than I thought I would. I thought to myself, "I don't like onions, so this will be gross." Boy was I dead wrong lol The creme fraiche was thick and creamy; delightful really. I liked the caramelized onions with the aioli, because it didn't have a strong onion flavor. It had such a nice texture and smooth taste. The chip itself was nice and crunchy, so it created a nice balance with the creamy texture. Okay, I'm done raving about that onion spread lol Smoked Trout 10/10 I love salmon. So, I was very excited for this one! Although, I'm not sure if I have had smoked trout before. This was surprisingly very good. The smoked salmon had a nice flavor. It wasn't overpowering, like I had feared. It gave it a meaty texture and was hearty with the salmon. The romesco purée had a hint of garlic, that I liked. It wasn't strong and paired nicely with the other flavors. The lemon-garlic lebnan added some more flavors with a saltiness. Very good! They were able to do separate checks for our group and you can pay with a QR code which makes it so convenient. I started with a daquiri to drink and got the hanger steak with potatoes and trout. Daquiri- It was a nice, citrusy drink. Portion is smaller than what I'm used to but it was strong. Very refreshing! Trout- Fish is fresh and flaky. It was moist and had a mild flavor. Served with snap peas and a charred lemon that adds a burst of freshness to the dish. Hanger Steak with Potatoes- Meat was cooked to perfection with a smoky char. Smashed potatoes had a lovely crisp. I felt catfish when I looked at the burger I ordered... Decided to come to this place because the pictures shown here looked like they have good fries and burgers Mine was completely different! $22 for that! What a waste! The bread was not good and it was drenched in an aioli sauce. The meat was horrible it had a lot of bad chunks of fat that couldn't even eat... this was not a gourmet burger at all. We had a really enjoyable experience at Verde Restaurant. The menu is very vegetable-forward with a true farm-to-table feel--everything tasted incredibly fresh and thoughtfully prepared. Every dish we ordered was excellent. We went on a Wednesday night and were pleasantly surprised to find out it was their kids-eat-free night, which made the experience even better for our family. The staff was warm and welcoming, especially with the kids, which we really appreciated. Our server was fantastic--very accommodating, knowledgeable, and gave great recommendations that didn't miss. Came here for lunch on a Saturday and interacted with Anthony. The restaurant was pretty empty, but I blame it on the weather and stagecoach. Service was top notch. The Really? Carrot? drink was soooo good. For food we ordered the salmon crudo, pickled carrots, chicken entrée and trout entrée. The salmon Crudo I wish had citrus and salt. Unfortunately it wasn't a 5 star for us. We had high hopes based on reviews. The service was okay. The server offered recommendations for the appetizers and they were very good. Carrots and Caesar salad were flavorful. However the main courses were not. We were told the burger was fantastic. It was way over cooked and very very salty. We let the server know and all she said was "I'll let the chef know". The fries were rock hard. Not just over cooked but literally were so dried out they were like biting into sticks. The trout had a good sauce but once again way over salted. Made it known and nothing was corrected. Decided to order the chocolate tart to go. Someone decided to whip cream without any sugar - none. The tart was good but so thin I would have called it a cookie not a tart. As thin as a Ritz cracker. Like a disk. It was disappointing to say the least. I often call ahead for recommendations and speak with Anthony--he knows the menu inside and out, and his suggestions are always spot-on. Every order arrives perfectly packaged and full of flavor. The ingredients are fresh, the vegetables are always well-prepared, and every sauce complements the dish beautifully. The Grilled Pork Chop--served with mashed potatoes, seasonal vegetables, and a savory mustard cream sauce--is absolutely incredible: tender, juicy, and so tasty. The Trout Piccata, pan-seared with a lemon caper butter sauce over roasted fingerling potatoes and asparagus, is so delicious I've ordered it several times. The Half Chicken, with Moroccan spice, butter potatoes, roasted tomato, and garlic sauce, is equally impressive--succulent and bursting with flavor. Even the bread and butter deserve a shout-out: simple, divine, and worth every carb. If you want restaurant-quality food that travels beautifully, Verde never disappoints. Absolutely enjoyed my meal here! A very unassuming location but great fresh food! We were greeted with a friendly smile and shown to our table. Service was great! We started with the charred peas and the gem salad. Peas were incredible and the salad was perfection. I've never had a blue cheeses salad with so much fresh BACON cooked perfectly! For the entrees we had the special which was a cod and the seafood stew. The cod was incredibly buttery and decadent. The stew was not traditional red sauce but a lighter green sauce which a really liked. There was plenty of fresh seafood in smaller pieces easier to eat. Not a big punch of flavor but super fresh and light. The charred bread on the side was a good compliment. Lastly, we had the sundae, banana split style. Very satisfying.
