Had no idea this restaurant even existed and I've been to that center so many times. Saw the glowing reviews so decided to visit for a girl's dinner a couple weeks ago. Had a reservation for a Friday evening and got seated right away. Cute little restaurant and bar area and our waitress was attentive and friendly. Saw numerous reviews saying to try the carrots as a starter so I ordered them and they were not like anything I've ever had. Definitely recommend getting a side of these for the table! I got the steak sandwich which was absolutely delicious and a massive portion. My two girlfriends got the salmon and chicken and all agreed they were delicious. We were hoping to leave room for dessert but not this visit. We also tried a carrot vodka cocktail and a celery tequila cocktail that were both so refreshing and unique. Look forward to coming here again and trying some more items. Bonus points for any restaurant where it's easy to find parking.

I came here for a bday dinner the other weekend. I have heard lots of good things about verde so I was really excited to try. The vibe is so cute and the service was great. We ordered a variety of appetizers for the group, including the cabbage, salmon crudo, bread, beets, carrots, and onion dip. The flavors were okay but I noticed everything was severely under salted so I had to ask the server for Salt. The flavors are almost there, I just think they need to be tweaked a bit to take them over the top.

Had a good experience here. Our server was really nice. They offered sparkling water on the house. You can also bring in your own wine for no corkage fee which is great. Our apps tasted good. My husband loved his salmon but said the romesco sauce didn't add much flavor. There were no vegetarian entrees offered, even though it showed it on the website menu. The website menu also states slightly lower prices. Would be nice if they matched up. I ended up getting a vegetarian power bowl. Which was good, but had a lot of snap peas which I also ordered as an app. Had i known, I would have ordered another app. Overall decent experience. The vibe is nice but not upscale in an uppedy way. I would go back.

This restaurant is in a cute plaza with parking available. Its on the second floor with a cute open concept design. Food was okay. Pickled carrots were good. Rainbow trout was a little bland.

Love this spot tucked away along the Newport back bay. Upstairs you'll find a menu with the best bites and cocktails in the area. Most people come to this spot for the snarky coffee shop downstairs but you're really doing it wrong if you don't come in for a meal here! Lively vibes, 5 star food and friendly, fun staff. Loved everything about it!

Came here with some coworkers after an event near by. Appears to be a farm to table kinda place. The menu is on the smaller side but has good choices for mains. A good list of cocktails but was saddened by the limited selection of non-alcoholic choices. Being a farm to table and local focus restaurant I'd wished they would provide a more inventive non alcoholic selection. We shared the fired cabbage and the cauliflower. Funny enough two of us had the hanger steak and two the protein bowl. Staff is friendly and attentive. Water glasses were always full and the server came by to ensure everything tasted good. The space itself is dark and cozy. Very much like a little farm house you'd find in the country side, albeit modern and minimal. There is parking on the upper level lot that would get you to the front door a lot easier than the maze of stairs and hallways from the lower lot. They were hosting a wine tasting dinner that evening, but that didn't seem to affect service to the rest of the restaurant. If you are nearby and craving some clean honest food I'd definitely check it out.

We came to this place because we were in the area. I got the steak and my fiancée got the pork chop. The steak was made perfectly medium-rare, but it was on the salty side. The pork chop was really good, and whatever sauce they use with it is really good. We were in the upstairs area because the lower level opens at 5 p.m. I would give this place another try, but I will have to make sure to mention holding the salt on the steak.

This review is a couple of months past due - but, better late than never! A friend had recommended Verde Restaurant after a hike, and I honestly didn't have any expectations. The interior looked cozy and cute - with outdoor seating as well; we opted to sit inside. They have a slightly small menu, which was fine. She insisted on ordering the pickled carrots - so of course we had to start with that. The green sauce on top was absolutely delicious. Onto the food - I ordered the Lemon & Sumac Half Chicken which was full of flavor and nothing short of amazing. Her Rainbow Trout was just as good, making us feel good about what we're putting into our bodies. Yes, it is a bit pricey, but the quality of the ingredients Verde Restaurant uses justifies the price. I would definitely come back here, and so happy it was recommended to me!

Service was slow and tired on a Father's Day dinner night. It was also surprisingly empty when we arrived at 6:30. The drinks were fun and worth a try. The best item ordered was the chicken - moist and seasoned well. The steak sandwiches were too big to eat as a sandwich without it falling all apart. Fun to try but no need to go back.

A genuinely fun restaurant! The options are all farm to table, and the view is amazing. I appreciate how tucked away and hidden Verde feels. They had a special pasta menu for downstairs (separate kitchens, heads up!) Service was kind and attentive, and we enjoyed the ambiance. We'll be back to try the new seasonal menu!

First time at verde bar and the vibes were great. We sat down in a cozy corner and realized it was pasta night. Our bartender/host Anthony was so incredibly helpful and really broke down the menu down to the drinks and pasta. We ended up getting a bolognese, Caesar salad, and drinks for the table. Anthony let us know the pasta noodles were actually from a local vendor who imports the flour from Italy. You could tell based off the texture how fresh it was. I can not emphasize how much the service impacted our first experience. 10/10 will be absolutely coming here again and bringing friends and family. Thank you Anthony for the best experience and hospitality!

Outstanding service by Alexander. Started with the beet salad. Crisp and invigorating. Dinner was highlighted with Moroccan spiced chicken and the most delicious charred carrots and cabbage. No corkage and just perfect. Loved it !

I had seen some reviews so suggested to try this place for a birthday dinner celebration. Located in a strip mall with plenty of parking. Inside felt warm and cozy. They allow free corkage for a max of 2 bottles. We shared various plates so was able to try multiple menu items. My fave was the trout as it's something you don't see on many menus. It was light, tangy and flavorful. I was also impressed by the cauliflower appetizer. Overall the food and service was excellent and unique

We've been here a few times before and always thought it was decent. So, we made the last minute reservation online and got here 15 minutes early. When we arrived, there was a short line, but per the reservation instructions, one of my friends went in to check in while we waited outside. Friend: Hi, I'm checking in for a reservation. Bartender: What time is your reservation. Friend: 10 Bartender: What time is it now? Friend: 9:45 Bartender: Then I'll see you at 10pm. Friend came back annoyed and explained what happened. The bartender didn't say it in a joking way, but with attitude and annoyance. Most staff would respond "Thank you for checking in, we will let you know when your table is available." We weren't going to let this ruin our night, so we waited and were seated by the hostess. The bar itself is dimly lit and very tight. The music was loud enough that we had to almost yell to hear each other. The waiter came by soon after and was extremely friendly. We said we'd been here a few times before, but it's been a while. He refreshes our memory by saying they specialize making variations of classics. They want customers to focus on the flavors and that's why the menu doesn't list the spirit in their drinks. Also, they only make drinks on the menu because their drinks are prebatched/premade. We ask for recommendations which he was happy to give. We each order a drink and a snack for the table. As we're talking (very loudly so we can hear each other), we lose track of time before we realize that it's been 20 minutes and we haven't gotten our drinks yet. For something that's prebatched, it shouldn't take long. Before we can flag down the waiter, he comes by and apologizes that they lost our order and had to put it back in. We appreciate the honesty and say it's no problem. 5 minutes later, our drinks and food arrives. He again apologizes for the wait and has a second order of our food that he's including for free. Honestly we were ok with just the apology, but extra food too? Hell yea. Sounds like it was turning around. The drinks were okay. Not amazing, but definitely above average 3.8 / 5. The snack, bread and butter, were surprisingly good. 4.5 / 5 When we asked for the check, the waiter brought the credit card reader and told us we can swipe our card any time and left it on our table. We look at the bill and realize the waiter not only gave us the 2nd snack for free, but comp'd 2 of the drinks also. We all agree this waiter is GREAT. So why the 2 stars? Well first let me say, I would leave it at 1 star, but the waiter definitely earned them another. We wanted to pay cash, so we waited for him to come back. Instead, the original rude bartender comes by and realizes we haven't paid yet. We ask if we can pay with cash. He explains that they don't accept cash. Friend: Are you sure? *Proceeds to try to insert cash into the chip reader slot* Bartender: You're pretty stupid, aren't you? Friend: Maybe if I swipe it instead *Doubles down and proceeds to swipe the cash through the magnetic strip reader* Bartender: Wow, you really are stupid. My friend is a 100% a goofball and having fun with the bartender. It was OBVIOUS that he was joking. Was it funny? A little. Was it stupid? 100%. But for the bartender or ANY customer service staff to call a paying customer "stupid", that's simply unacceptable. We're all pretty pissed at this point and simply swipe the card and the bartender leaves. As I said earlier, we've come here a few times. We don't live especially close, but when we're in the area, we would always consider coming here. Now, there's no chance. For any business, even if your drinks and food are great, customer service can easily DESTROY your experience and that's exactly what the bartender did. Note to the male bartender with no hair: You really shouldn't be interacting with customers. You were rude from the start and have no sense of humor. Could you be having a bad day? Sure, but that's not an excuse to be rude to customers. I know management saw my original post because it was removed, probably because I referred to the bartender by his hairstyle (or lack thereof) multiple times. If they rather remove my post than deal with their bartender, that's another sign to avoid this place.

The restaurant has a warm, inviting atmosphere with a beautiful design that strikes a nice balance between upscale and comfortable. It's the kind of place where you can settle in and enjoy a leisurely meal. We started with the roasted bone marrow, which was pure indulgence. I spread that rich, nutty, buttery goodness over the crispy toast points, and every bite was better than the last. Next came the prawns. The chefs did an outstanding job highlighting the natural umami from the shrimp head before the sweetness of the corn and shallots blended perfectly with the tender, succulent shrimp. It was a dish that kept evolving with every bite. The smoked short rib was the star of the meal. I asked for the sauce on the side, but it was clear the meat had already been cooked sous vide with the sauce, allowing those deep, savory flavors to fully penetrate every bite. The result was an incredibly tender short rib that practically melted in my mouth. Absolutely delicious. From the welcoming ambiance to the thoughtfully executed dishes, Fable and Spirit delivered a memorable dining experience. I'll definitely be making a return visit the next time I'm in the area.

PURCHASE(S) Gepetto's Last Words ($16.00): Intrigued by the cocktail's name, this elixir was crafted with Fid Street Gin, tangerine, creme de violette, lemon, and cucumber, it was a citrusy refreshing sweet drink that was decorated with bright yellow petals. It was nice, but for whatever reason it just didn't quite hit the spot. [ONION RINGS/STRAWS/STRINGS ALERT - 4.0 of 5.0 STARS] Onion Rings ($9.00): A decent portion with rings of medium to large sizes, these were hot, dark golden browned, crunchy, and had a slight tendency to crumble when bitten into while the onion ring (sweet Maui!) rarely pulled out at times. They were lightly oily while the catsup wasn't needed but used. SERVICE While in Stowaway, we informed our male server to let us know when we were allowed to enter the belly. Once inside and situated, we had the place and bartender to ourselves. After we all perused the menu, we placed our orders, and everything arrived within ten minutes. The rest of the time was spent chatting, picture taking, and our bartender checked in on us also giving a Dole Whip taster. All was casual, chill, and somewhat on island time - aloha and mahalo! PARKING (FREE): They shared a medium-sized private lot with several other businesses who were closed at this time with plenty of spots - 'nuff said. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE "Hidden" inside Stowaway which was located within a strip mall, the entire theme was based on the Pinocchio story, the interlude in time spent inside Monstro, and as we entered it felt like the beginning of the Disneyland "Storybook" ride as you road a canal boat into the mouth and sharp teet of a whale. There were several marionettes (appropriate and non-appropriate) that hung from the ceiling and belly walls, along with other Disneyesque memorabilia, a few sitting booths, and a tiny bar at the end of the roo. No natural lighting whatsoever while an assortment of extremely low-lit electric lights and table candles glowed. There were no TVs while I couldn't recall any background music. ATTIRE Although I was actually dressed appropriately for the occasion in an aloha shirt, linen pants, and flip-flops, this place was totally casual, so a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops would suffice. OVERALL Belly Of The Beast was an adventurous fun evening with friends, it left me feeling childlike with the need to watch "Pinocchio", and I couldn't wait to return to try more of their awesome-soundling elixirs. I generally loved all-things Disneyana, and this new wrinkle, albeit probably not approved by the mouse ears brass, caught my fancy. My one drink was tasty but just didn't hit the right spot, the onion rings were very good, the prices were a tad elevated, the atmosphere was awesome, and the service was friendly and professional. They had an extremely limited menu, and there was some doubt whether or not ordering from the Stowaway menu was an option. Plus, I always preferred to support small local mom & pop businesses. I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $27.00 BEFORE any discounts and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... AMEX! 4.0 STARS
