A wonderful dining experience in Sunriver. We had a great breakfast out on the patio. Our server was courteous and knowledgable about the menu. All of their breads, including the english muffins for the Benedicts, are baked in house. Our girls loved their hot chocolates--they make them extra fancy, which made the kids feel quite sophisticated. The spinach crepe and the french toast were especially tasty dishes. Our waitres, although I can't remember her name was great! My food was amazing. Will definitely come back next time we're in town. Be prepared to wait a bit, but it's sooo worth it. Next Day Review: So we decided to come back for breakfast again this morning because we had such great service yesterday and the food was so so good. Todays experience was a bit different. Unfortunately we didnt have the same server as yesterday. Todays person should not be in the service industry. She walked by 2nor 3 times amd looked at but never came over today is we wanted coffee or anything. Finally 10 minutes later she came to our table. We ordered coffee and food, my husband only ordered an englsh muffin. We finally got our coffee, then my food came, i was half way into my meal amd my hubby still hadnt recieved his english muffin. I saw another server and asked her about his food. Our server yelled from behind the counter..I got it!. But she didnt bring it someone else did. I told my husband. I bet we dont see her again until we her our check.. sure enough. Here she come put the check on the table takes my plates amd walks away. Not asking if we weren ok, of we wanted anything else...nothing. So todays experience because of the service I would give a 2 star. The odd thing is yesterday they super busy. We had to wait to even be seated so we felt..wow that says a lot for this place. Then everything was AMAZING. Today we got seated right away. Waited 10 minutes to even see our server another 10 minutes tonget our coffee..and they weren't busy. We had several empty tables around us. Will we go back if were over their, probably. But we will make suew not to be in the secrion being taken care of by the lady with dreads. She was awful. read more

They recently reopened last week for dine-in services, which was great! Haven't eaten there since I was a kid. There weren't a lot of folks inside, perhaps 2 out of 10 tables were taken, but the wait was a little long as the hostess took her time to clean one table in the far back for us. Ok, that's totally fine. Safety first, I guess. However they only gave us one small menu to look at between the two of us (boyfriend and myself). When our waitress, Sara came over, my boyfriend asked what the soup of the day was and she quickly answered 'pork and veggies.' My boyfriend has hearing problems in his left ear and couldn't quite catch the first word she said. In addition, he's vegetarian so he replied 'oh...wait, pork?' and the waitress instantly said in a very snarky and rude tone "um yea... pork and veggies? Umm... veggies and pork? Pork veggies in a soup?" and sort of scoffed like he was an idiot. Was she trying to be funny? Lol no. Perhaps she was annoyed because she didn't want to go back to work considering the pandemic that is still going on, but in NO WAY should that be an excuse to inflict such behavior and attitude towards your customers. She literally had no reason to be so short-tempered with him. She was very dismissive and lacked genuine care for her own service. Sandwiches were ok. Dreamy cafe I once loved as a kid is now ruined. We stopped in here for a quick breakfast before heading to my sisters wedding! They were able to accommodate our party of 9 including a baby and were very attentive to our table. I ordered the granola trio which was AMAZING! The assortment and variety of fruits was beyond what I expected. The granola was delicious as well. I recommend getting the hot chocolate if you aren't a coffee person. Our service was great, despite some of the reviews we read. Just average. Their potatoes were cut too big and were undercooked. I did like their sausage. They give you complementary bread. That the same bread they use for their French toast. Needless to say, it was nothing special. Yet again, they use the same bread for the breakfast sandwich. I think the breakfast sandwich would be better with a biscuit or maybe more toasted like a panini. Service was friendly and specialty coffee was made to my liking. I'm not sure if we'll return next time we're in Sunriver. I almost feel that I could make a tastier breakfast at home. read more

As a breakfast spot in a vacation community without any real competition, they could be be forgiven if they cut a few corners and made food that was simply "pretty good". After many previous trips to Sunriver, we finally had occasion to visit Cafe Sintra. Why did we wait so long?? This is a very well run cafe with a friendly vibe, customer-first focus and GREAT food, on this visit at least. Our brunch orders arrived quickly, perfectly executed, along with fresh squeezed orange juice Mimosas. Just "what the doctor ordered." We had been feeling a little bit down after too much stormy weather during our vacation week, but this restaurant experience picked up our mood and sent us on our way with a smile. Wonderful service and food for a late afternoon lunch. Lots of salads and sandwiches to choose from, including several vegetarian options. Our party had the caprese sandwich with Brie, grilled cheese (kids), mixed greens salad, a roast beef with carmelized onions. The bread is to die for, lush and moist - homemade. Yum. Jasmine iced tea more juice-like than tea, but presentation with fresh berries and overall taste with a hint of tea was quite refreshing. Local beers available and latte was well done. We want to return for breakfast before we leave. Menu options sounded great! read more

First time here, met my husband for lunch. I bet this place is PACKED in the summer. The self serve coffee: is robust and aromatic, the mugs are deep. I would come here for the coffee alone. Until I tasted the FOOD. OMG the food. I ordered a 1/2 & 1/2; a half sandwich (I think it was a Fantastico? Brie and ham, mixed greens and an herbed mayo that I couldn't finish but it was divine) with the soup of the day. Which was a vegetable crema, and the base was, believe it or not, zucchini. Yup, zucchini. It was crema alright, delicately green tasting, tickling your tongue with a suggestion of lemongrass or a breath of green curry maybe? Eating it was romantic, this dish is something to be served on Valentines Day to show someone how much you love them and care that they should taste something so wonderful. To start off I would give this restaurant 0 stars if it would let me however, I have to give it at least one star. My review is strictly on the quality of service not the food because we did not even get to order food let alone to be seated. When we wanted to put our name down the lady who seemed to be in charge just looked over her shoulder and said it would be a 45-60 minute and by then it will be lunch we won't be serving breakfast. We said ok no problem that lady then said "really you are willing to wait ok fine but we are not going to serve breakfast." Her tone was rude. We then decided to leave and give our business elsewhere. They must not need the business. Very disappointed. read more

We had to wait for a hour to get our orders, which consisted of salad and sandwiches. After waiting for 40 minutes, we asked how much longer. The answer was "we are short-handed. If you know someone who wants to work, let us know". We will NEVER come back, nor will we recommend anyone to work there. The managers/owners apparently are very frugal to only have one chef. We went in on Christmas Eve looking for breakfast but had just missed it. The staff was very friendly and definitely had that small town feeling to it. The food itself was ok. My husband ordered the Portuguese Stew and said it was good and something he had never tried before. I had the balsamic strawberry and chicken sandwich. I really enjoyed it and was pleasantly surprised to see that it was served on a bed of salad. The coffee was self serve which I super appreciated so that I could get more at my own pace. My husband tried the chai which is homemade and he said it was too sweet for his tastes, but the waitress did warn him it might be when he asked. read more

Ignore the yuppy tourist snobs with negative reviews for this place. For one, it's worth the wait. They're always under staffed (hence having to wait even though there are empty tables. There is a systematic reason for this.) but always do a great job. I love the food & the staff are nice even though they sometimes don't have any reason to be. The place is usually packed with a line outside & the self-important, rich tourist folks aren't always nice about having to wait for food. The price is on point for inflation. (If you are going to complain about price & can't afford to eat out, then eat at home). We go here often and I have never had a bad experience. We will continue to be regulars. read more

They open at 7am which is wonderful when you get wake up pretty early, you don't have to wait around for hours just to eat brunch! The service was friendly and fast. The food delicious.
