Wanted to get breakfast after Costco run, but didn't know of any places close. When I looked it up I found the Moose Sisters and I'm so thankful I did. Amazing breakfast menu. I had the Country Fried Steak and I'm happy to say it was just like being home on the weekends when my mom used to make it! Just delicious and huge! Definitely worth a try. I've seen a lot of negative reviews about this restaurant. I had a very good experience. Went with DH the drinks were humongous, and the food was very unique. I have a limited palate so not a lot appealed to me, so I got the patty melt and as an appetizer we got the bruschetta. Hubby got the grilled chicken sammy with tater tots. The Bruschetta came out quickly and it wasn't good, very soggy and too few tomatoes. My patty melt was pretty good, and the cole slaw excellent. The chicken sandwich looked small but he said it was just enough. The tater tots were probably the Ore Ida ones from the store. The real treat was the dessert. Key Lime Pie? no way! I'm in- and it was yummy. The better half had poppyseed cake, and it was huge- he liked it very much. What made up for some of the menu missteps was our server, she was very attentive and even took the bruschetta off the bill and explained to me why sometimes they don't make it super crispy. I'd return to try the brunch. Looks like they have some very irregular hours but perhaps that is to accommodate the older demo in the area -totally respectable. The last two times we've tried to come here it has been closed for one reason or another. On this most recent attempt, my friend and I walked in at 7pm hoping to grab a quick drink, and the owner or manager (the woman always working the front) was extremely rude, telling us they were closing early for maintenance, that they couldn't seat us, and that we should have seen the signs. There were no signs posted anywhere that we could see; we even looked again on our way out. And there were still several people eating at tables and sitting at the bar. Her tone was so abrupt and unwelcoming that I think this was our final attempt to visit. The last time we were actually able to eat there, she was also quite rude. At the time my husband and I assumed she might just be having a bad day, but it now seems this may simply be how customers are treated. Bend has so many wonderful restaurants, and unfortunately there's just no reason to go out of our way to return to one where the atmosphere feels so unwelcoming. read more

I was looking forward to trying Moose Sisters for the first time although we've read mixed reviews since it's close to home, but unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing and left us feeling incredibly uncomfortable. We were originally charged an extra $4 just to share a plate so we mentioned not a big deal, we would split it ourselves and they put up a fuss and proceeded to charge us $1 for a plate to do it ourselves as though it was some kind gesture on their part. There was also an unmentioned credit card fee. Mind you, I was a server for 14 years so I'm not new to the industry. The food itself tasted like it had been sitting out for a while, despite us being the only customers in the restaurant at the time. For the quality, the prices felt outrageously high. When I politely shared some feedback with the owner that was passing by at the end of the meal (not asking for a refund, just hoping to provide honest input), she immediately became defensive and confrontational, raising her voice and insisting the food was "amazing" she's been doing this for 25 years and we got what we paid for without even asking what we had ordered or how our experience was. It was shocking and uncomfortable, especially since I approached the conversation kindly and respectfully. This encounter was unprofessional enough that I feel others should be aware before deciding to dine here and can officially validate the other terrible reviews. read more

$6 for a cup of coffee! A friend found a long hair in her meal to which one of the co-owners responded with "life happens". No comp on the meal but another choice was suggested. No offer for a discount on the food taken away. We go here at least once a year during the Christmas holidays, but am re-thinking even that. If they didn't have veal on their menu, I would have stayed to eat. The method by which veal is produced is terribly inhumane.

Interesting menu with some unique choices. Service was slow, considering there were very few people in the restaurant at lunchtime (two other tables). We were a table of six ladies; they tacked on a 20% tip (even though we had separate checks) AND tacked on a "service fee" for using a credit card. My food actually pretty good but another person in my party said the chicken in the salad was hard, chewy and unpalatable. When I'm in Bend I make sure I come eat here. The food is always delicious. I had the green curry bowl with halibut. The veggies are fresh and cooked perfectly. The halibut so yummy. I don't eat curry often but I love this one. The service is excellent. Friendly and very efficient. read more

I am shocked by my treatment at this restaurant. Arrived at 1:15 with my wife and was immediately told by the owner to hurry as they were closing at 2:00. I am not a picky diner and appreciate fine quality, presentation, service etc. but this started off in a negative light. We ordered a sandwich to split. A $22.00 chicken sandwich. I am used to high prices especially in a resort town but this was absurd. Tiny, served on a Costco focaccia bun. It looked more like a $12.00 sandwich at best. It was fine. When we paid the bill I noticed a $4.00 split charge. I simply said to the owner I was not going to pay the split charge as I thought it's was absurd, please correct the bill. She barked that it was on the menu and I simply said I did not see it. She then rudely said she would take it off this time but never again and said I was absurd as she walked away. This was not about $4.00. It could have been handled in a much more appropriate way. Two things. 1) I'll never go back and 2) the owner needs to find a new profession. Bottom line after reading the other reviews it seems that this owner has no idea what being in the service business means. Spend your money elsewhere. Unless of course you like being taken advantage of, treated rudely and enjoy paying for overpriced mediocrity. read more

I had dinner at the Moose Sisters Restaurant last night and ordered the crab louie. The salad part was satisfying but the main ingredient, the crab was horrible.. The crab was dried out and little pieces about the same consistency as granola. There was no taste to it, and there was absolutely no crab whatsoever. I mentioned this to the waitress, and she just kind of smiled and let it go. I will not be going back because any restaurant that is an upscale restaurant that doesn't pay any attention to their customers problems with what they're being served to me is not an upscale restaurant. Moose sisters is beautiful. It's big so there isn't a long wait. The food is phenomenal and the drinks are the best in town. These reviews that complain about the restaurant closing at 8 and having to leave by eight are hilarious. You don't go to a store that closes at 6 and linger until 6:30. I love the fried prawns. I had a halibut cooked Cajun style. Fish was oddly flavorless and didn't have the same whiteness and texture of halibut elsewhere. Husband had halibut fish and chips. Moose Sisters has become our new favorite restaurant. We decided to give it a try after seeing a commercial for it. We weren't disappointed. I wish I could remember what my husband had, but once they brought out my Ahi Tuna Salad I just didn't care anymore. The tuna was cooked to perfection, and so tender it melted in your mouth. The portions are generous, and more than enough to satisfy a hearty appetite. The homemade bread is slathered with butter and cooked on the grill, and was a great choice with our meals. Afterwards we splurged and got dessert. We couldn't decide, so we ended up with two-the Key Lime Pie and the Pot de' Chocolate. LOVED the chocolate-it's a creamy mouse with Bailey's and Kahlua poured on it, and fresh whipped cream. The Key Lime pie was nice and tart, and had a pecan crust. I've had their Breakfast Batt Sandwich and home fries, which was also wonderful. While Moose Sisters isn't the cheapest place in town to eat, we think it's one of the best. We've eaten inside, and it's wonderful to be able to hold a conversation without music blaring. Their deck is another great place for dining. It's nice to not be facing constant traffic, and you can see the mountains to the east if you're in the right spot. We have always had amazing service the times that we've been there. This is the second time that I'd thought I would give it another try. I will not return again however. When I got home and I was sick to my stomach. Something disagreed with me. I had the halibut sandwich and a Caesar salad. It did smell a bit fishy. Service was ok until the waitress said u know we r closed now. We had no idea and apologized. Most people will say take your time but she was just rude. The place is over priced and was half empty. If they don't make some changes I don't think they will survive. read more

The restaurant was beautiful. The service was great and so was the food. At first glance I thought the food and drinks were a bit pricy but my martini was excellent and wasn't measured by a chigger and watered down with vermouth. My daughter had the lemon drop and it was perfect (and not small). The food was some of the best we have had in Bend (which says a lot) but probably doesn't get its recognition because it isn't downtown. We have never had better bruschetta anywhere and the Cioppino was better than what we have had on the coast.
