I didn't think Café Sol would be my type of place at all but to my surprise and delight it proudly boasts an ever-evolving product range bringing locals, tourists and students alike an assortment of great tasting food for reasonable prices. What also sets it apart is that it places strong emphasis on developing and maintaining relationships with their customers.
Upon my first ever visit I had to take a double take at the blackboard displaying the day's specials because they were so cheap. I genuinely thought there was a typo and even checked with a member of staff that it wasn't an error. The Tomato and Basil Soup served daily is only €1.99, and for this you do not receive something derisory on account that it is so cheap, but instead a generous serving of warm, wholesome soup.
Their sandwiches cater for simple and gourmet tastes including quality meat, fish and vegetarian fillings. I often go for the flavoursome 'Coronation Chicken and Mixed Leaves on Rustic Brown' for €4.25. I also relish in their healthy, hearty and homemade soups that are very high quality made with wholesome and low-fat ingredients. The shop assistants are always happy to offer you a sample cup so you can taste how good they are.
Another favourite that I like to munch on is the Chicken Noodle Salad (€6.95) featuring the scrumptious combination of Chinese Noodles, Chicken, Sesame Seeds, Peppers, Spring Onions, Bean Sprouts, Sugar Snap Peas and Sweet Soya Dressing. Café Sol's salads are recurrently crammed full with a mixture of the finest lean meats, crispy vegetables, mixed leaves, pasta and homemade dressings.
If yourself and your mates are planning to take your sandwiches or salads to eat in the park or within the grounds of Trinity College then how about getting a Flask of Tea that serves enough for 10 cups for €16. A jovial addition to any group lunch. read more
