Our family of four enjoyed dining at Cafe Tandoor! The food was delicious and the servers were nice and attentive. The buttered chicken was extremely good and we all had clean plates by the end of the meal which is a rarity. Thank you, Cafe Tandoor!

We love Cafe Tandoor! They do a lot of carry out but the inside has gorgeous traditional art and the staff is always incredibly kind. If you ask, they have a full vegan menu and the Aloo Matar was exceptional!

    Lunch portions are decent.

In Cleveland on business and my customer says this is his favorite local Indian place to visit. He knew all the secrets from parking in the back to how to order the food. He knew everyone in there as well! Lol. Atmosphere/Appearance: We came for lunch twice and both times it was pretty dead inside, but no matter. That just meant all the staff could focus their attention on us. Lol. Once in the screen door on the back side of the restaurant you walk past the kitchen, bathrooms then into the main dining room. The decor was pretty cool. I enjoyed the rounded arches and wide-open spaces. As I said before it was pretty dead in there so it was super chill inside. Service: Pretty good. My mans slacked on refilling my water a couple of times, but eh... he's running the whole restaurant by himself so... yeah. Everything was cool though. Food: Before our entrees came out we were given a basket of crispy "bread" of sorts. I don't like calling it that, but I don't know the official name. Naan maybe? Lol. Along with the "bread" came 3 different spreads. They were all fantastically delicious and I wanted more! For my entree I went with a lamb curry which comes with rice and it was amazing. The lunch portion is just right. It doesn't leave you feeling so full that you can't work after eating. Value: I can't remember how much stuff was, but it was certainly less than $20.00. That's pretty good for an Indian lunch that isn't a buffet or sorts. I liked this place and I see why my customer likes it so much. I'd certainly keep returning to try more of their vast menu.

I was really hoping this place would be as good as I remember it being years ago, but they really let me down... I LOVE Indian food. Definitely one of my favs, if not my true fav. I had been to this restaurant years ago and I remember liking it. Unfortunately, this go around turned into a big disappointment. A friend living in the area invited me out and we decided on Cafe Tandoor because she had not been there. I vouched for the place from memory, so we went. We started with vegetable samosas and a I gave the mangotini a whirl. The samosas did not disappoint and the drink was delightful. Next, she ordered the Baingan Bharta and I got the Tandori Mixed Grill and we added some saffron rice. When the entrees arrived, they looked great, but I was a worried that my mixed grill was a tad over grilled. To my dismay, it was as dry as the Sahara desert and seriously could not be saved. When I politely informed our server, she said that's normal and offered no help. I said I could try a sauce of some kind and she offered to bring out the same chutney that came out with our appetizer. I gave it a shot, but the food was unfortunately ruined. When I gave the rice a try, it was ironically undercooked and my friend agreed. Her dish came out proper, which was nice, but we shared a sadness about mine. Luckily, the server went ahead and took it off the bill, which was definitely the right thing to do, considering the disappointment and that I had to leave a bit hungry. All in all, I don't feel comfortable recommending this restaurant and if you go, you do so at your own risk. Good luck.

This is definitely a 5-star place. As an Indian Person living in Heights, I am dumbfounded by the fact that it took me 10 years to try this amazing Indian restaurant. We had Chicken Shahi Korma, Onion Kulcha and Tandoori mixed grill. Delicious food and great service. Ambience is very ethnic and peaceful. We will be coming back soon.

Really enjoyed the food here and our waiter jeremy was really friendly! Will definitely be going back here again. You have to specify if you want your food spicey.

I came here with some friends before heading to watch the Sound of Music at a local theatre. I ordered the Cholle (chickpeas) and a side of naan. The chole tasted okay, nothing special. The naan was not soft or fresh. It looked store bought and it looked as if the restaurant had placed it in the oven real quick to get it warm. The naan was crispy on the edges but the whole naan broke off very easily and tasted dry. My friend Tony's meal on the other handed looked so much better than mine (see photo below). He ordered the Chicken Tandoori which comes in a hot skillet. YUM. I tried a piece of his chicken and it tasted good. I'll be back here to try the Chicken Tandoori. **** This is my 139th Yelp review overall. 93 reviews for 2018. I am aiming for 100 reviews in 2018. Ate here on 12 September 2018. Food is fine but they don't provide rice with their entrees. $16 for a pint of an entree without rice seems excessive.

I originally planned on getting the chicken tikka masala, but he confidently recommended the fried momos and the butter chicken, saying they were two of the best things on the menu. He wasn't exaggerating. I ordered the fried momos, butter chicken, garlic naan, and got the medium spice level. Every single bite was incredible. I honestly don't even know how to describe the flavors because I've never tasted anything like it. The butter chicken was unbelievably rich and flavorful, the momos were amazing, and the garlic naan was so good I immediately wished I had ordered more. I even found myself thinking the medium spice level was perfect because it let all of the flavors shine instead of just focusing on heat. I probably could've handled more spice, but I honestly wouldn't change a thing. My only complaint is that I got full before I wanted to stop eating. I was genuinely upset that my stomach tapped out before I did. If you're debating what to order, you honestly can't go wrong, but if someone there recommends the butter chicken and fried momos... trust them. I'll definitely be coming back.

I ordered two of the dishes spicy (not the highest level), unfortunately the momo and paneer or almost inedible were the amount of spice in the dish! As in like burn the back of your throat off spicy!! The peas in the paneer are hard and very undercooked. The biryani is cooked well and, thankfully mildly flavored. Overall, I do not feel like I will order from this place again.

The door is wonky though...super heavy and opens weird. They have a lot of different options and premade bowls. For someone who is not very familiar with Indian food, this place makes it easy to customize and try out stuff. Nothing was too spicy or too overspiced, thankfully. Everything tasted relatively fresh but the portions are too small for the price. It's not like at Chipotle or Cilantro where they fill up your bowl. I almost never finish my portion in one sitting but I had no problem doing so here. I wish there were more veggie toppings and not just pickled ones. Scallions and cilantro would be great options to have. The mango lassi was delicious but so small. The inside is high ceilinged, spacious and has plenty of seating. The big group bench in the middle had such heavy and had awkward block seats. They were hard to get in and out of and were so uncomfortable.

Everyone loved the food and the flavors were so satisfying. The real tandoors behind the see-through glass were eye catching. Being able to see my food being cooked was very satisfying.
