    Fries basket ($5)
    Matt D.

COVENTRY, Cleveland - You guys. The fries. Terrific. Wife and I were in the adjacent bookstore on a Friday evening, around 7ish. Both a little hungry. Figured we'd give Tommy's a shot, not knowing it's this long-standing institution with a devoted fan base. That fandom is deserved. Brightly lit, clean, friendly staff. We were seated immediately. Really interesting menu with a lot of vegetarian and eclectic choices. $5 basket of fries was wayyyy big and some of the best fries I've ever had - a nice crispness on the outside, while fluffy inside. Wife's spinach pie with muenster cheese ($11.85) was flaky and generous with the fillings. Loved my $3 phosphate. My DC falafel sandwich ($14) - with sesame seeds, cheese, sprouts and tomatoes - was crazy big and the falafel was perfectly cooked, with a nice crunch. Our server Kelsey was really personable. All in all, just a great dining experience and if we lived in the area, we'd be frequent fliers at Tommy's.

Good food and great service in a cool restaurant. The TLW was awesome, the corned beef was nice and tender and savory, the scrambled eggs were cooked good, the green peppers and onions added nice texture, the pickles added good crunch and cut through the fattiness of the corned beef and cheese, and the pita was toasted perfectly. Overall very good place with good food for good prices.

Still a great place to eat. Lots of vegan and vegetarian options. Also carnivore options. Food is fresh and good. Special shout out to the fresh made fries and milkshakes. Sign in when you walk in on the pad. Wait can be long. It's worth it. Menu is big. Not hard to go thru. Honestly most everything is good. Pita sandwiches are good. That's what I get most of the time. Share the fries it's too much for 1 person. Place is bright and airy. Staff is friendly and efficient. Cost is about average. Use to be a bIt more cost effective but in today's world it's not quite as good. But still ok. Park in the parking lot for free across the street. Go to the book store next door while you wait or afterwords. Good place to eat!

Good food with lots of variety. After a 45 minute wait over lunchtime, we were seated. No reservations are accepted. The yogurt shakes were recommended by a friend, so all four of us got the raspberry yogurt shake. It was delicious being very creamy with a fresh yogurt taste. The fries are popular so we each order them. One to share would have been plenty! We all took some fries home. Service was very good. The restaurant is clean, and easily accessible. Check it out in the Bohemian neighborhood on Coventry Road. Free parking garage is across the street.

The TG pie is so unbelievably good. Tons of lamb, mushrooms, cheese, and onion fried up in a greasy rich delicious dough. The cigar sandwich was good too. Beef, mustard, onion, dough.

Veg friendly of course. Great service. Food is more than generous. Been going for years and the quality remains the same. Best to pay in cash to avoid service fees though.

Tommy's was recommended by a friend from Cleveland and we were excited to check it out. It has the vibes of an old school vegetarian spot -- eclectic granola decor, minimal frills, an extensive menu. The service was pretty fast and everyone was kind. The food is really where I was a bit disappointed. It was simple and tasty, but didn't feel particularly healthy or high quality. It was kinda like eating cafeteria / dining hall food, which is to say that ingredients were simply thrown together without that much thought or care. If I lived in the area it seems like a great spot for lunch from time to time. As a visitor, I enjoyed seeing it for the clear spot it has in the community's heart, but I wouldn't go expecting great food.

Incredible sandwiches and milkshakes! Definitely plan on visiting again soon - The PR has a meat pie, falafel, cheese, and veggies on it, can't go wrong with that one.

The vibes at Tommy will always be classic, I love that this place is a staple in Cleveland Heights that has been loved by regulars for many years. I love that it's connected to an amazing bookstore! I love the family-oriented staff that bring your milkshakes speedily. Only reason I don't give 5 stars is that I always am disappointed in the pastry of the meat pies. They come out a little rubbery and not very flaky, crusty. However, the portion sizes will NEVER disappoint... I mean, look at the size of their size of fries!

Eight years worth of Fairmount moments later, this review is well overdue. AMBIANCE: The ambiance allows you to slow down and enjoy your company. The restaurant is dim lit, has fireplaces, and loungey atmosphere. It somehow feels warm and I heard a lot of people refer to it as a second home (people are always so friendly here!). There is ample space - three bars, main dining space, and huge outdoor oasis bar. Nestled in Cedar Fairmount neighborhood, you'll also be able to enjoy historic neighborhood. There are seating arrangements if you're craving company or want to enjoy your date. Seating options include couches by the fireplace, tables, and high tops. Fairmount is delightful during every season. During the summer you can enjoy the bar and patio. In the winter you can dine at the igloos. I prefer all seasons here. FOOD/DRINKS: The menu at Fairmount is impressive and has exciting seasonal/weekly additions. You'll never get bored. The cocktails here are refined, very boozy, and very well crafted. The food is seriously delicious, and consistent every single time. I've been impressed with every dish. The dishes and drinks frequently follow the seasons. During my latest visit I enjoyed Butter Pecan Warm Cider with bourbon ($12, so bold and boozy, tastes like fall). I also ordered Fig Trouble Little China ($15, a more rich version of Old Fashioned, so delicious). I also tasted Short Rib & Risotto for the very first time ($28, such a delicious dish, every bite was just amazing). My favorites? Ah, so hard! I'll go with the Fairmount Burger! It's angus beef burger with bacon-fig chutney. It's so delicious! I can't even be serious about meat at the other burger places, this is easily the best burger in the city. My seasonal favorite? Kevin McCallister seasonal drink that resembles coquito or eggnog. The drink is topped with rice paper that includes the design of Kevin from Home Alone. It's such a fun tradition! I look forward to this drink all year and always tell the world about it! SERVICE: The service is excellent. I haven't been anywhere where service is right on point every single time. Everyone is nice - the owner, hosts, and waitstaff. You truly feel seen and like the most important guest. I've visited previously while on dates and frequently dine here solo, always had the most pleasant service. EVENTS: Many people book events here for their non-profits or companies. As far as individual events, Fairmount hosts a fun NYE party every year! PARKING: Onsite parking lot is available at the back of the building. You can enter through the front doors on Cedar or right through the parking lot door. There are numerous reasons why I love the Fairmount. I consider it to be the best dining experience in the Cedar Fairmount neighborhood of Cleveland Heights. I also love how the owner Jake is very engaged in the community and is incredibly friendly with the surrounding business owners. I'll choose this place again and again for calming ambiance, crafted cocktails, and delicious food. To many more years of Fairmount and at Fairmount!

The service was attentive, and several people checked on us throughout our meal. I ordered the lobster ravioli, and my daughter ordered the pesto pasta and added chicken. Both dishes were excellent. The lobster ravioli was extremely flavorful, and my daughter really enjoyed the chicken with her pesto. This was some of the best Italian food I've had. This might not be saying a lot because I am from L.A. and we are not known for our Italian food. My only complaint was the bread. Most Italian restaurants offer complimentary bread for the table, but Mia Bella charges extra for it. That wouldn't bother me as much if the bread were something special, but it was extremely ordinary. It was warm, but otherwise pretty tasteless; no garlic, garlic butter, herbs, or anything else to make it memorable. I'd definitely skip the bread and order a legitimate appetizer instead. All in all, the experience was very strong, and I would definitely return.

So many great restaurants in Little Italy that it's hard to walk in to a random establishment and not have a great meal. But this little bar tucked away at the corner right before heading up Mayfield hill is a hidden gem. It's not a big place. It's not fancy. It's a "bar". But I promise you... they have GREAT food here! There's always a crowd at the actual bar during the few times I've gone, but for as small as the dining area with tables is, I'm a bit surprised as to why it isn't full of diners more often. Perhaps because they've labeled themselves a "bar" and maybe most passerby's think you can only drink there. So this is my one little way of getting the word out: EAT @ BORGATA!!! You won't be disappointed... Especially if you try the blackened chicken Alfredo! Perfectly seasoned, super tender chicken, creamy Alfredo sauce, with the 3 pieces of the most perfect garlic toast - it's carb heaven on a plate!!! DO IT!! One of the greater things about this establishment is that if you savor and enjoy your meal and drinks patiently enough and not rush out, you'll likely meet the chef as he goes from table to table asking how you are enjoying your meal. Twice I've had a nice conversation with Chef Armun, this time a little extended as we got to know more about each other. One of my friends happen to mention that it was my birthday. Jerk! (something I don't really like to announce). Then something happened when we were done with our meal and were on our way out. Chef Armun stopped us and said "Can you give me 5 minutes? You can't leave yet." I'm confused, but said "oooohkay, sure." A few minutes passes by and comes out with a slice of the most decadent cake with a candle on it and the whole place started singing happy birthday! For sure an occasion I will always remember. And it's things like this that endear places and people near your heart... where and when you truly feel treated as friend or family by a small, local business. To Chef Armun and Borgata... thanks for the impactful experience!! To everyone reading this: EAT & DRINK @ BORGATA! You won't be disappointed!
