In town visiting family and looking for somewhere to stop for lunch, I previously read about the location in downtown Denver and the history so was excited to try it. Was not aware they had more than one location so it worked for us since we were close to Littleton and didn't want the hassle of downtown traffic. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great old style restaurant with a full bar offering a "Diner" kind of vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Staff was very friendly and helpful offering a good sized menu of comfort food style entrees of Burgers, Sandwiches, some Mexican dishes and salads. Reasonably priced menu items and good sized entrees made our lunch perfect. My apologies for not taking any photos of our entrees but we were talking when the food came and very hungry so we all dug in to the deliciousness. I had the burger of the month which was a 1/2 lb burger with crispy wontons, caramelized onions, bacon, arugula, goat cheese and a balsamic peach vinegar. Some of the other entrees were the pulled pork sandwich and a chile relano burger. The fries were crispy and flavorful as well the onion rings with a light batter and cooked to crispy perfection. 3rd time to a cherry cricket and first time at this location. I really wanted to like it but sadly only the vibes, the staff, and the menu descriptions are good. The food? Mediocre. Burgers are dry even though we asked for medium. Adding sauce after sauce to the patty (customization galore) isn't the answer because it makes the sandwich too salty yet not solving the dryness of the meat. I'm going to preface this horrible review with the fact I used to go to the original Cherry Cricket all the time and always had a good meal and a great time. However, the Littleton location is not the place for either. The one star is for the very nice hostess who seated us, that was the highlight of our dining experience. Let's start off with our waitress who would have rather been anywhere else in the world than waiting on me and my kid on a Wednesday at 4:40PM. Do you hire people who were too mean to work in the debt collections field, because I think that's where you got her. I asked if it was still happy hour because I wanted to try the wings, and you would have thought the happy hour wings sold deducted from her hourly pay. Never have I had a waitress try and talk me out of ordering food at a restaurant they currently work at. Ordered waters and drinks for both, water only came for one of us, no straws. She then disappeared for a good 10 minutes and by that time I decided I'm not ordering a meal, the 4 wing appetizer will do it for me. She finally comes back with her shining personality and takes our order, kids burger and fries cooked medium. That can't be too hard right? After all the Cherry Cricket is known for their burgers, and this is a kids burger. What came out( not delivered by our waitress) was a medium rare burger that was still mooing and tasted like it was dropped in the floor. Kid took one bite said oh god this is bad. I tried it and I have had better burgers from a street vendor in Tijuana at 3AM. Absolute horse shit! Did Miss Sunshine ask how our food was, or if there was anything she could do? The service was great, very attentive when we needed more water and quick for our food to come. We came here as we were recommended the Caesar wrap as it's my go to meal. Seems this is Tex-mex kind of food so most of their items have Avacado and salsa added to it. However, Disappointed by it as it's clearly frozen chicken and it's $13 for just the wrap- no side. For the price, I definitely do not recommend this. The nachos were pretty bland, the salsa it comes with was not spicy at all or flavorful. I know the place is known for its burger which we didn't get so my opinion does not cover that. If you are looking for a place to bring kids that has a patio for them to run around this is a great option. Good burgers with a huge variety of toppings. The menu has everything from salads to Mexican food but they are best known for their burgers. The onion rings were great (but a little greasy) with a crispy coating and perfectly cooked onions. The tots were also perfectly crispy. The seating areas are large and not cramped and there's a ton of patio seating - right on Littleton Blvd. So many TV's! Our server, Alex, was nice and attentive. I normally really do NOT like places like this... the craft beer and burger place where a bunch of parents show up and stay there for like five hours while their bored children desperately attempt to entertain themselves by running around beating each other with their own shoes while their parents ignore them. (Yes, I saw that here, right down to the shoe beatings.) But. But. BUT! Cherry Cricket has absolutely amazing food at an incredible price! The chili cheese fries are so good, and they are a meal by themselves. The only thing was we asked for jalapeños, but they forgot to include it with the burger. Up in Littleton for a hockey tournament and AI said this was the best burger joint in Littleton LOL. AI didn't lie this time. This place was straight gas. We sat outside on a beautiful day - they have a gorgeous covered outdoor patio with TV's perfect for watching football on Saturday and Sundays. They also have a nice artificial turf area with picnic-esque tables. The food was great! The menu was extensive and I love the build-your-own burger option. The 1/2 lb cricket burger is just the right size. I got Swiss and mushroom, and don't sleep on the garlic aioli. I also grabbed a Heath Bar milkshake with chocolate ice cream, yum! Cherry Cricket is a Denver institution. They expanded to the 'burbs two years ago and I popped in for the first time the other night after a long event day. Everything about my experience was 5 stars! For starters, the location is massive. With so much outdoor seating, like a stupid big patio! I opted to sit at the bar, because that's where I belong after a long day. They have their own house beer, a pale ale brewed by 4 Noses. Score! Bartenders were especially friendly. Especially Hannah, so much so that I didn't forget her name! They were attentive, funny, and quick. I knew I wanted wings and wings were what I ordered. These were classic bar wings and I say that as a compliment. Cooked well, served right out of the fryer, tossed in a tangy buffalo sauce. Dipped in a pool of ranch and I was in heaven. The caramelized onions were great as well as the apricot bbq sauce. None of the burgers include a side so fries are extra. Liz and Hannah at the bar took care of us- they were about as kind as you can get! When our burger came out, Liz had already had it split for us! What a nice surprise! What was even nicer was THE BURGER WAS COOKED PERFECTLY. You don't get perfectly cooked burgers almost anywhere- not even at burger specific places. We ordered medium rare and it was medium rare. Last night we decided to order take out from this location. We ordered two burgers, chicken tenders with fries for my son, the French onion soup and the cherry bombs. The soup and the cherry bombs were delicious! My son loved the fries, however the chicken tenders were a little too crispy for his 2 year old taste buds. The burgers, while beautiful and delicious looking, were unfortunately cooked very rare even though we asked for medium. I ended up not eating mine as it was so, so red inside. I absolutely LOVE the Cricket. I feel like you cannot go wrong with a Cricket burger and frings and a cold beer to wash it down. I have been to this location a few times now and it is always a great experience. Our service is always on point, quick and zero complaints. Their beer selection is always a good variety to pick from. Some beers are a bit pricey, but I get that craft beer is going up. I typically get a little cricket burger but if I am really hungry I go with a regular one. I love the topping choices. Most places don't give you nearly as many options as the Cricket does. I will say, I have never tried their Mexican food, so not sure how that is. I am sure it all tastes good as well. I think my only complaint I have about this location is the lack of parking.
