Literally addicted to their honey glazed pork banh mi sandwich! Cafe Trang used to have a food truck on the U campus by the library and I was a verrrry frequent visitor. They had the best deal for a banh mi sandwich and a thai iced tea. I knew at the time that they had a physical storefront as well, but never checked it out because of how convenient the food truck was. Cafe Trang Bistro now has multiple locations across Utah, and I am still just as obssessed with their banh mi sandwich. They pack a decent amount of pork into their sammies and the french baguettes they use are always so soft. Some places have a more crunchy bread for their sandwiches, which I think just ruins it. You gotta have soft bread for a more enjoyable sandwich experience. Cafe Trang also has legit pho. I love meatball pho, I basically get the same thing at every Vietnamese restaurant I go to. Cafe Trang is a more quick and casual type of place, but just as delicious. My husband loves the rice bowls here. One super cool thing about Cafe Trang is that they offer gluten-free egg rolls. Yes, gluten-free! He makes sure to order a couple every time, and they are quite yummy. The boba drinks here are solid. They have a thai green tea here which is probably my favorite drink. My go to pho restaurant. The broth is really stand out to me. I love the environment aswell.

The Pho soup is amazing, very fresh! They have great bowls also! We also got a coconut smoothie that was really tasty!

Parking was a pain in this area, it is getting bad on the west side of the freeway too where the other restaurants are popping up like crazy in Lehi. This place is very different from the traditional Cafe Trang's in the valley. It is a fast food version of those. I didn't think the Pho was that great, the broth was rather bland. The vermicelli with butter beef was just 'okay'. The best thing for me was the Thai iced tea and the egg rolls in my vermicelli bowl. I like the egg rolls. That's about it. I told them no peanuts. They just picked them off poorly and gave it back. Had I been allergic, I would have been screwed. Cafe Trang has long evaded me, and on a special night in Utah County I was finally able to zone in on this one and make a visit. I met a friend here, and we went through the line and got our pho--piping hot, brimming with broth, and overflowing with noodles. I mean, pho has kind of been commoditized these days, so it's hard to say what was better or worse about this pho than any other place. It's solid, middle of the road, and I would order it again. We hung out for a while afterwards, and it was a nice, relaxed place for us to chat. Cafe Trang is the first place I ever had pho, so my go-to. I've started ordering the pho without meat, because the beef and chicken options I've tried have been consistently dry. I don't know whether this is normal for pho. Cafe Trang is good about giving extra bean sprouts if you ask for them. Last night I had pho, spring rolls (the rice paper kind) and kids coconut chicken curry delivered through DoorDash. - The pho was perfect as always. - The two spring rolls were wrapped together in plastic wrap, and the thin rice paper on both had split open, so they couldn't be eaten. I've had these in the restaurant before without trouble. - The coconut chicken curry was SO dry as to be inedible. Unfortunately I had already completed the DoorDash rating and couldn't take it back. The most Overpriced Vietnamese food ever had, ever. Catered towards a market who probably is clueless about what to expect, no other Vietnamese restaurants here so they get away with overpricing everything. They charge extra for the cha gio in the bun ch gio; which means they basically charge for egg rolls in a white noodle eggroll dish, which I find hilarious since at other restaurants, eggrolls come freeee inside the noodle dish since it's part of the ingredients. Their large bowls of pho are extremely small... talk about cheap, if you go to a Vietnamese/Chinese supermarket, an entire bag of noodles for pho that can feed a family for a week literally Costs a couple bucks.. The only reason they do this is because they are literally the only Vietnamese restaurant in the neighborhood but just know you are getting ripped off eating here for regular Vietnamese food. read more

I called them back and they refused to believe me that they gave me the wrong food. I just wanted them to replace it for the correct meal. Very poor customer service. Tried it out 04/15/21, thought wife and I found a new spot due to the good reviews and being in a great location. Ordered the mix combo pho with extra meat (meat was cold) and soup was barely warm. Vermicelli noodle was great though. Ordered... fried egg rolls it was okay, had better. Tested out a kids meal of fried rice and orange chicken. Orange chicken was okay, Fried Rice was hard and tasted hella old. We returned it on the spot and actually got a more fresh version of fried rice. The best part of the stuff we ordered was the vermicelli noodle and sprite. Came out over $50 total. #Disappointed!! read more

Anyway, I'm obsessed with their Bahn Mi sandwiches! Soooooooooo good, so much flavor and just seriously you need it in your life. And I just tried their Vietnamese iced coffee and it's also amazing. So unique and delicious. They are really nice as well and the restaurant is SUPER clean. Prices are super fair as well. Good Pho, but not great. Pho is my go-to when I feel a cold coming on. It's like the Emergen-C, but tastes good and warms the soul. That being said, finding good pho is easy in Utah. Finding GREAT pho is much more of a challenge. Unfortunately, this quest wasn't fulfilled at Cafe Trang. Where the soup really lacks is in broth depth. The abundance of flavors in pho broth is the biggest differentiator between good and great pho, and this leaves a lot to be desired. I find myself adding a ton of jalapenos and sauces to the soup to give me a slight hint of what I'm looking for, but those can only do so much. I can't speak on the beef grade, but I wasn't pleasantly surprised by the flavor. Pretty standard, average beef. The chicken is very good, and if you do try Cafe Trang, I recommend the chicken. It does the job, and does it well. Cafe Trang is close to where I work, and the only place that I have found that serves Pho within 5 minutes of my office. So will I continue to visit? Of course. Speedy & friendly service with excellent taste for fast Vietnamese food. The layout is clean, easy to understand, and has a cool trendy vibe to the design. The staff was happy to answer questions and jumped right to it whenever you ordered something like a well-planned assembly line. The Ban Mi is so fresh tasting with lots of nicely cut vegetables and a great honey pork. The sauce topped it off with a delightful sweetened vinegar taste. The Vermicelli noodles with pork was a unique pork flavor I hadn't tried before at other Vietnamese places. I liked it although I prefer the more traditional fried pork pieces that usually go with this dish. The egg roll was one of the freshest I've tried. You do have to pay more for the egg rolls so be aware of that but they are worth checking out. The fresh spring rolls had a great flavor but I was disappointed at the wrapping job. They fell apart when you ate them. They could improve on the wrapping they do for those. They also have Boba tea which is nice to pair with the food. Pho, Bun, and Bahn Mi--that's what they are about. The only thing that they have in common with Cafe Trang in Draper is the name. The food is not bad and they keep the place clean. I was disappointed that their spring rolls are not nearly as good as the spring rolls in the Draper Cafe Trang. Also what's up with the having to pay separately for it when ordering Bun? The Bahn Mi with pork is very good and I'm glad that they are not putting lettuce and tomatoes in them anymore--I used to get funny looks when I use to tell them to not put lettuce and tomatoes. They put a good amount of meat but they really skimp on the pickled radish and carrots so I always have to ask for more and I still get the funny looks. Tasty for fast Vietnamese (assembly line style), although not as polished as typical restaurant style. The staff was nice and quick. They make your food in front of you - the fresh spring rolls aren't very tight; as they're bitten into, they spread and want to fall apart before getting 2/3's the way down (which makes dipping into the sauce tricky - plan to spoon the sauce into each bite instead). Ban Mi is good with the honey glazed pork (bread was crusty/dry - next time I would ask for softer bread). The vermicelli noodle dish has a decent amount of meat but very little "romance" (supposed to be spelled Romaine, but I love the misspelling to romance) lettuce, so I'd ask for more for a lighter fare (I like 1/2 noodles, 1/2 lettuce). The fried egg roll that comes with it has a nice crust and savory stuffing. Boba (bubble) tea: I get coconut taro combo. Paid for extra boba because I'm used to getting less tapioca pearls than I like at other places but my double boba was probably a wee bit much. Everybody seems to sweeten boba tea differently, so I never know if it'll be Utah-sweet (sooo muuuch suuuugar in Utah drinks/sauces) or Vietnamese-sweet (a hint, letting the ingredient flavors take over). This one is too sweet for me, although not Utah-sweet (like Orange leaf - I ask them for 1/2 sweet and it's still a bit much). I'd ask for 1/2 sweet next time and I bet it'll be a nice balance (Pho. No. 1 makes them a nice consistently barely sweet). read more

First thing that I noticed about Cafe Trang is that it's not like most pho restaurants where you have a server. At Cafe Trang you place your order and then it's prepared immediately! Your meal is ready by the time you are at the register! Quick and easy! There is plenty of seating, which is great. For my order I decided to go big with a small pho + brisket, grilled chicken spring rolls (fyi there are 2 in one order and they're huge), and a small thai tea with boba. The total for my order was around $18 before tip! First, I wanted to talk about how good the pho was! Being a "pho lover" I'll say that I was very satisfied with the flavors from the broth and brisket. The portions of meat, noodles and soup were just the right amount to fill me up! Okay... I want to tell you about these HUGE spring rolls! Tip *** if you don't like what protein is in the spring rolls on their menu, ask to change it to something different! I decided to go with grilled chicken because I'm not a big fan of shrimp. Next time I'm going to try the curry chicken! All the ingredients were fresh and not heavy. I would recommend as an appetizer for 2 or a quick and healthy lunch option for 1. They provide a delicious peanut sauce with the order. One flaw that I noticed with the large size was breakage in the spring roll. Half of my roll fell out of the rice paper ... however it was still delicious eating with a fork! Lastly, the thai tea with boba! I've had my fair share of good boba's and bad boba's, and I'll say that Cafe Trang's boba was spot on! The pearls had a good consistency and for my order they gave me a lot of pearls. I was not disappointed! However, the thai tea was nothing spectacular, not terrible, but not amazing. I think that there was too much milk added which drowned out the delicious thai tea flavors. Customer service was great! The employees were all kind and very helpful! My team came here for lunch and it was pretty good. The people who had pho really liked theirs. I had wontons and the noodle bowl with honey pork. It was quite good. I just wish the cucumbers were bigger. The photo had nice pretty cucumber slices, but the bowl I got had little diced bits of cucumber. I think next time I come I will get the pho.
