Love trips when I'm staying with a friend and they get to show me all their local spots. This was one of them. Walking distance from her house, this cute little neighborhood spot The owner is a personality for sure and the staff are all very friendly. Dog friendly and he has funny tshirts on the wall for sale. Ex) a shirt with a photo of the owner in the middle with "violated osha protocol" or something along those lines. It's a tiny little space, with a pretty small menu - just the simplest of things. I got my usual vanilla iced latte and no complaints from me Also, the prices are outstanding. read more

It's so cute in there! Very small, when I went there were 4 others waiting in line and I had to lean against the door. However, the service and vibes definitely make up for the size! The two workers behind the counter were so friendly, and their dog was just hanging around by a table. The dog came over to me and I had a little petting session while I waited for my drink. Love love love Cafe Typica! They sell a variety of coffee beans from all over the world. Their lattes are fabulous. Matt, the owner runs the place and he knows his coffee very well. They have a medley of flavors you can add on to your drink. They also sell teas, smoothies, frappes, cold drinks, baked goods such as cookies, breads, croissants as well as coffee making gadgets. I simply go for the great coffee. I've tried three different flavors of their Costa Rican coffee and they all have been fantastic! Definitely a regular customer now. Five stars all around read more

I met a friend here for the first time this morning after reading the yelp reviews and was glad I did. The coffee was excellent (they roast and sell their own beans), the barista (Payton) was a pleasure to chat with and the outside seating was nice as well (plenty of shade). It was a beautiful spring day in January. I know, but it sure felt like it. I had just checked out a couple of the neighboring shops, and was asking for referrals to any other businesses. They referred me to Cafe Typica. I had noticed it when I walked by; thinking I did not even know there was a coffee shop other than a corporate chain one near here. So, I grabbed the dog and went in to get a latte. The space is intimate, but full of charm. Aromas of roasted beans past permeate the shop. After getting my very flavorful drink, the dog and I went out to enjoy the outdoor seating and a pleasant early afternoon. The owner, chomping on a cigar (not unlike a Marvel character), soon joined me. We talked about his place, how long it's been open, and admired the attractive passersby. A couple employees, and perhaps owners, from the neighboring businesses came out and also shot the breeze. My coffee was tasty enough that I felt the need to get a bag of beans for later consumption. I may not have known this place was here before, but I will definitely be taking advantage of its location in the future. read more

Phenomenal coffee from a micro batch roaster who is just doing something about which he is extremely passionate. Single owner/operator and some insanely good coffee! Hand selected beans, air roasted on sight, right in front of you. Smells like delicious caramelized nutty popcorn from around the corner, you cannot go wrong here. Pastries are home baked, everything made from scratch. I was in Denver with my sister on vacation. We stopped by here every morning. Best latte I've had hands down. Matt is friendly and anyone who has a dog greeting customers gets a gold star in my book. My sister (not a typical coffee drinker) asked Matt to make the sweetest coffee beverage he could think of. We laughed the whole time and she ended up with a raspberry white chocolate latte.
