i'm not impressed with this spot. the coffee tastes stale for starters. right behind the bar is their big roaster. i have higher expectations for quality when this is what they are boasting. my next issue is with service. the barista asked me to clarify my order 4 times and all i was asking for was an oat milk latte. not a smooth ordering process. then finally you get to the inevitable tipping part of ordering, and their options are 20%, 25% and 30%. it's a pet peeve of mine, that's an outrageous tip for mediocre service. overall, this is low on my list to recommend. go up the street to corvus or stick to starbucks, it'll be the same cup. read more

I love this coffee shop! Wide open space, local art on the walls, locally roasted (giant windows where you can see the beans and roasters as you enjoy your coffee), featuring local baked goods, and super friendly and helpful staff. Kaladi gives you every reason to like them. Prices are very reasonable too. I hit the tip 20% button without thinking and felt bad because the workers deserve more. Next time I'll pay more attention to it. They have a signature kaladi latte, which features their own syrup of chocolate and vanilla flavors to go with the espresso and milk. It tastes fabulous. I'm normally a basic straight espresso or americano or drip coffee kind of guy, but I thoroughly enjoyed the kaladi latte. Satisfied my craving for sweet without being too sweet. By the way, their espresso, americano, and drip coffee are all amazing too. They always feature 2 kinds of drip coffee that are rotated (or at least 1 is). I wanted to love this newer spot on Broadway. The original roaster/coffee shop on Evans never disappoints--perfect cappuccinos and cortados every time, and a bag of beans to go. I've been going for over 20 years. But this new spot left much to be desired. First off, when I ordered a cappuccino somehow it was suddenly confusing to the barista, who made me a mammoth drink in a giant tea cup. Not likely her fault--she explained after I insisted I just wanted a normal cappuccino (5-6 oz) that they call that a short. What is this local chain now, a Starbucks? I come here to avoid that place! She was kind about remaking it while I was kind too, alluding that I appreciate her letting me be a coffee snob. But then she handed me a 6 oz cup with no saucer that was only half full. There were no spoons to stir in my sugar, so I had to ask for one. Gawd, it tasted terrible! NOT a cappuccino. 1/3 espresso, 1/3 milk, 1/3 foam folks! The whole point of me coming here is so I don't have to make it better at home. I took two sips and went to put it in the dirty dish bin, and saw that there was a full trash can, and all the trash had been deposited in with the dirty dishes, none of which had been cleared while two baristas sat idly with 2 customers over one hour. Inconsistency seems to be the norm here, whether it's the inconsistent quality of coffee or the staff, who can range from friendly to not-so-much. Regardless, I've been coming weekly to work and grab coffee for over a year, trying to make this my local spot. After today, I won't be back. My experience aligns with other Yelp reviews mentioning 'unfriendly,' 'standoffish,' 'disrespectful,' and 'distracted' staff. I had been patiently waiting for my drink when a barista mentioned someone had accidentally taken my order and kindly offered to remake it. When she placed the drink on the counter, I politely asked if it was mine, just to be sure I wasn't taking someone else's. That's when the older barista, she is there frequently, decided to yell at me in front of everyone, telling me to take the drink and accusing me of three remakes - which was absolutely not the case. It was embarrassing and completely uncalled for. Despite being within walking distance, I'd rather take my money and go further to get coffee from a place with friendly staff who appreciate loyal customers. The people are all nice and whatnot, it's just the drip coffee they roast and prepare is unbearable. It's tends to have this weird acidic aspect that reminds me of bile. Another thing that grinds my gears is the light roast beans they sell are a medium roast in the grand scheme of things and and while they advertise that is is roasted with other aromatics they are not in the least noticeable. read more

Kaladi has been our go to for years and has been consistently great coffee. However its more and more difficult to go there with increasingly surly staff. Last few times we were there the staff seems very unhappy. If you order more than one drink they just set them out with no announcement or indication of which drink is which. Kinda strange. My favorite coffee in the whole wide world. I will go out of my way to get this! It's no where near my neighborhood but oh so worth the drive. They have another location on Evans as well. My favorite thing to get here is a tan mocha. I like to go easy on the mocha because the coffee/espresso flavor is so good I don't want it covered up by the mocha itself. The uniqueness of the coffee comes from how it's roasted and dried. Because of the technique they use you do not get that bitter taste that typically comes from other coffees. If you're somebody who doesn't like coffee because you think it's bitter, you need to go try Kaladi, it's going to change your mind. This company makes some mean coffee! For Christmas I bought my husband a hand press espresso maker and some of Kaladi's espresso, that they roast on site. He can't get enough, and in less than a month's time I needed to go back and restock! The people that work here are so friendly, making suggestions of drinks based on likes. They also serve fresh pastries from Trompeau Bakery (about a block from Kaladi) - they're incredible. Parking is tricky depending on the time of day. Coffee depends upon a few things: the beans, the machine, the water... but most of all the barista. Kaladi has a few great baristas. They seem to be the originals or long-time employees. Unfortunately they have recently hired a bunch of new baristas with a bit of attitude. Quality (it's mostly a consistency thing) of the product has suffered. Who you get to make your coffee here matters - and unfortunately the experience (for me) has been going downhill. If your 20-year old self was out until 3am and you had to open at 6am - good-on-ya - but don't make that my problem. I just want a decent product for my $6. read more

One of my favorite roasteries in Denver. Their assortment of beans is rich with places like Peru and Bolivia. I can taste the difference in their method of roasting. The beans are never bitter or too oily. I get whole beans to drop in my hopper for my daily espressos. The variety of beans Kaladi offers is unmatched to aby other roaster in the city. Love this spot! Super comfortable with the choices of seating. Coffee is great quality. They don't have a big selection on pastries and snacks, but what they do have is decent, like scones & banana nut bread. I went back twine in one week! I was very happy to have found another coffee shop that is student friendly Kaladi latte: very powerful! Pay attention to how many espresso shots come in each size. I got a 12 oz and I didn't realize it had 2 shots, so it was a very strong drink. Very good quality espresso though. They roast their own beans! read more

The staff is super friendly and I have personally seen the hands on training they do. They make sure that their team understands their quality. This location is next to the University so you may have to contend with a bunch of young adults trying to get to class on time but it's worth it. read more

I love Kaladi coffee, and am always more inclined to support local coffee shops than large national chains. This location is newer and, as others have said, it's less crowded than the Evans location, which is bustling with University students and professors. This one also seems a bit more spacious. It certainly has the same delicious coffee options, of which the Venetian Creme is my go-to. It's made with cold-brew coffee so be forewarned-- it has a LOT of caffeine. In the winter, I get it without ice, but the ice does help tone it down a bit. The parking is street parking, but in Englewood, it's not bad odds to find a spot pretty darn close to the storefront. Also, I have to say--I LOVE whatever material they used on the exterior. It's this amazing distressed metal that looks like wood. I love the rustic-industrialness of it. I was in the area and found this place by accident - I was actually looking for a Starbucks (oops). The building caught my eye because of the Nordic Cabin vibe and I'm happy to say the coffee here is SO. GOOD. Wifi is free and decently fast, plenty of space for settling down on your laptop to work and did I mention the coffee is very good? They offer sugar-free syrup (yasss) and compostable paper straws. The decor is admittedly, a little dated... Like hanging out in your cool, older aunt's basement with glass lights and jazz and everything. You also get a view of the roasting warehouse through a window from the coffee shop. I'm going to knock off a couple of stars and here's why - the ladies were nice. However, they seemed pre-occupied and in a hurry to get me checked out, even after I mentioned I had never visited before and asked what they were about. No mention of the warehouse, various beans they offer, what they do, their specialty, etc which I would have enjoyed learning about. There are pamphlets out on bitterness and acidity, coffee varieties, roast profiling... That's about all the information I got which is a little sad. Additionally, it was hot! I had a bar of chocolate out and it melted. Multiple people were fanning themselves, sweating. There are fans but maybe no air conditioning? It is not the best work environment. I get the feeling people stayed (like me) because they already got their coffee and were situated. That's it. Having said that, I found out there is a Kaladi closer to me and I will honestly probably go back to try again just for the coffee. Hopefully that location is a little more work-friendly. read more
