I want to support local businesses but this Yumm store is terrible. LO one is so much better. My orders are correct only about 1/2 the time. Today I ordered extra sauce (and was charged extra for it) but got no sauce whatsoever. I tried to call the store but the line was busy (probably off the hook) for 30 minutes, then would ring 30 times with no answer. Tired of paying $10 for $2 of ingredients and poor service. Nearly every visit my order is wrong or inconsistent. If I ask for no dairy it's usually still included or I still get asked if I want sour cream. Less rice more beans means you'll pay for more beans and receive just as much rice. Why not label the packing with at least a sharpie like "less rice, more beans, no dairy." This will also help the staff be more aware of what they package. Often times the beans are cold. Do you use a soup well with plenty of hot water while checking the temp regularly? Also if you coach your managers/ staff to read the ticket when bagging and then recite the order back out to the customer there might be less room for error and avoid the customer from having to check their food. Just little things to add that much more to great customer service. read more

WOW. My teeth found a rock in my Yumm Bowl today at lunch. Brought it up to the counter and was told by the manager that they use organic beans and sometimes rocks get through. Didn't even offer to comp my meal. I'm glad I was chewing carefully! I think I'll stick with places that keep the undesirable "organic matter" off my plate for the future, thanks. I used to go to Oregon State University and went to the Corvallis Cafe Yumm all the time when I was a student, it was one of my favorite places to eat. I loved the food! I moved to the Portland area after graduation, and missed having a Cafe Yumm closeby. I work in Wilsonville, and heard they were going to put in a Cafe Yumm across the street from my office. Naturally, I'm thrilled. I'm there opening day, one of the first ones in line. It's been several months now, and I've given it many chances, but I'm at the point where I think I need to throw in the towel and stop eating here. Every single time I eat at this location, I feel sick afterwards. Tummy ache every time. It doesn't matter what I eat. I usually get an edamame bowl, vegan option with extra avocado. Whether it's that, or something else, my stomach always hurts no more than an hour later. It makes me really curious as to what the heck is making me react that way. The quality of the food and service is also not what I experienced in Corvallis. Food is always really slow to come out, and the bowls are always only about 75% full, which is annoying. Often, the food is cold and a few times, the rice in the bowl was burnt or stuck together in a big chewy clump. This part of Wilsonville doesn't have a ton of food options, so it's unfortunate that this Cafe Yumm is not so great. I still have great experiences at other locations, though. read more

This will be our fourth time eating here...and most likely our last! Waited in line at drive through for ten minutes, not moving, then parked and came in. Took our Oder wrong and had to wait to fix it... Then no clean tables to sit at, I asked two different employees, while another employee sat listening to me ask and did nothing! Ten minutes later an employee finally cleaned a few tables, not ours we did it our selves! There is four people in the restaurant total. Food took another 10 minutes. Good fresh food, pretty simple but good ingredients. The service at this location is terrible though. Been here 30+ times and they are always understaffed. I have watched my food sit on the window for 5+ minutes before anyone bothers to hand it to me multiple times. Eat at the Cafe Yumm on Lower Boones Ferry and downtown very frequently but this location was terrible. It took 3 minutes or more just to be greeted by the cashier. Another employee saw me standing there first and chose to ignore me (I smiled, no response whatsoever). The person taking my order was nice and polite and I sat with my number and waited. And waited some more. It was 820 and I was the only person who had walked in to order at all. 15 minutes pass and I got up to ask about my food. It hadn't even been started. I was offered a cookie by the cashier, great. Then I waited for my order to actually be made. When it did, it was on the wrong tortilla and had flecks of olives I specifically asked to be left off. Guys, for fast food you are probably one of the healthier choices in town. The Chilean Zucchini Bowl I ordered for dinner was very tasty! All veggie toppings were nice and fresh. My one star deduction is because I need beverage options that are larger than your only size of 16 ounces. It's like drinking from kid-sized sippy cups. Tonight I ordered two 16 oz iced teas to quench my adult thirst and ended up spending $4 for 32 ounces of iced tea. I went here for the first time and I was not impressed. The drive thru took a long time and I don't understand the drive thru asking for tips now...really? Its like you charge me 8.50 for a bowl of rice and bland chicken and you want a tip? I can appreciate the attempt at vegetarian, but if you have chicken add flavor please! If my visit last night had been my first, I never would have gone back to a Yumm Cafe. Make no mistake, I love these places, so this review is specifically for the Wilsonville location. First, you guys need to just give people their beverages after they've ordered and paid. It seems silly to have someone bring your drinks and then bring your food. I had one occasion where they didn't bring my beverage until after I got my food. Second, the restaurant last night was filthy. The area with condiments was gross. The containers that hold the flatware were dirty and the flatware didn't look very clean. Every (and I am not exaggerating) table was dirty. Here's the rub, the place was pretty empty. I even saw a guy come clean a (as in ONE) table then go disappear into the back room. I've got to think there's rules about how often you clean tables and other table tops. Lastly, my food came out cold and the tempe was burned. Overall not a great experience. I frequent here often so I really hope this restaurant gets cleaned up because if it continues to go down hill, I'll start going to the Lake Grove location. read more

The food is fine, but the service is ridiculous. I called to order something to eat there at the location. When I got there I ended up standing in line for 10 minutes while my food sat in the window. One person was running their whole front end, so people were leaving because of the wait. When I finally got to the front, they had made everything to go because 'it's their policy.' I then ask for things from the window & this idiot continues putting everything into individual bags despite me, again, asking him to stop because I'm planning to eat this there. It was the craziest waste of paper, as I took everything out of the bags at that point, and again asked for a bowl so I could eat this here. I ordered take out for my family. The restaurant itself if very nice looking and clean. My husband ordered a turkey sandwich and it was so overpriced. He got a small amount of turkey on wheat bread with slightly old lettuce for $6.95. He felt like he should have gone across the way to Costco and gotten a turkey croissant for a much better dinner. My daughter got a Chicken Bento for $7.95 and was still hungry after the meal. You get one skewer and rice. She is twelve and pretty small but could have eaten much more. I got a Veggie Burger for $7.95 and thought it was pretty good but a little oily. Overall, the food wasn't bad but seemed very expensive for what you got. read more

I had been to the Original Cafe Yumm in Eugene and became addicted. The best part is that there is a drive through! Inside is trendy and new. I always order an original Yumm bowl, and my sister often gets the jasmine one. So good! Perfect if you want to fuel up without feeling gross about what you are eating. I keep thinking if I go here one more time, my experience will change. Wrong. The last time I went, the chicken skewer was skimpier than usual and my chief complaint for this location is the fact that the chicken is like chicken jerky! It's way overcooked and could take out a filling. I've learned this is a corporate owned location, making my experience even more surprising. I've been here about 6 times now and won't be going back. Really disappointing. The bright spot, however, is the Lake Oswego location, which is not corporate owned. So glad it opened near my office as I have always had a good experience there - chicken never overcooked and instead it is moist and fresh tasting.
