Consistently yummy food, good customer service in the drive-thru, but it can be slow service. That is not necessarily bad that just means fresh food, but it makes for longer wait times. We were misled by the word " cafe " and were expecting a slice of Americana; alas this is a health food establishment. We were craving fried chicken, burgers, slice of pie à la mode, and maybe a milkshake. We were forced to eat healthier items and were displeased. Food bowls were overloaded with their " secret " sauce; no Diet Coke drinks but you can get kombuchas (not terrible but not my cup of DC)! We won't be back. Didn't take pics. Out of all the restaurants in their vicinity Yumm probably has the freshest ingredients, however, that doesn't mean their menu selection is impressive. It seemed to be the same three mains and bases dressed up with sauces from different "cuisines". I had the teriyaki chicken with white rice. It was decent teriyaki chicken but nothing special. They did have tempeh and tofu options which was nice for my colleague who prefers to eat vegetarian. They also have brown rice as a swap for white. This place is a quick, healthy-ish option if you're passing by and need something quick. Finally a healthy restaurant in Wilsonville. When I was searching for healthy options, Subway came up sooo many times. Really? I'm from DC where there is an abundant of healthy options, and was impressed by Cafe Yumm! The food is bursting with flavor and nutrients. I got the yum bowl on greens and added the tofu teriyaki and tempeh bbq skewers. The food was delicious! Although they were marinated in similar sauces, the tofu and tempeh had unique flavor. As someone who is plant based but my other family members are not, this is the BEST place for all of us to get something healthy to eat for lunch or a quick dinner. I love getting the yum and greens bowl or the tempeh and rice dinner. Even our kiddo has always loved eating here. And the Yumm sauce- we buy the big container to go!! Slow service, waited a long time even though I was the only customer in the building. For once I'd love to go to a cafe Yumm and leave feeling like I had a great experience. It's always something, but it's also always just a bunch of unsupervised kids, so I guess that's to be expected. Addendum: Cafe Yumm ALWAYS responds with the same comment as seen below. What can they do? Provide better service at a more reasonable price. I definitely only go there when I'm desperate, even though I love eating vegan. Cafe Yumm Wilsonville is terrific! I can't get enough of their signature bowl. I've try several other items on the menu and always gravitate back to "medium original bowl please". What I love about the original bowl is the simplicity yet very flavorful arrangement with a lower fat than meat concept. I don't feel heavy or bloated, or just plain yuck after a bowl of rice and beans. I'm energetic in the afternoon when if I had a burger and fries I need a nap by 3. This place is super expensive, and you get hardly any food. We went here for the first time expecting to receive a good dinner but only received a small snack that was tasty but hardly consisted of anything. We spent over $30 and were both still hungry when we were done and we are small, fit people, who don't eat much. I also didn't understand how they were portraying themselves as a healthy eating place yet when I explained I have a soy allergy they were totally rude about it and didn't want to help me find items I could eat. When I visit the Portland area, I try to make time to have a meal at Cafe Yumm. I visited their Argyle location this week and was pleasantly surprised with their special Spicy Teriyaki Tempeh Bowl. Delicious!! Great flavor combo. Plenty of protein with the tempeh and edamame beans. I usually have the Original Yumm bowl, but glad I tried something different. I hope they continue to keep it on the menu. Also, the store was clean and had great customer service. read more

Imagine a drive thru restaurant that I talk into a box and show up around the corner to pick up my food and in order to use my credit card, I now need to "answer a question". How much tip do I want to give them? The weird part for me is I have been going to this restaurant for a couple years, however now during the pandemic, I need to sign for my small CC purchase on an iPad and decide how much of a tip I need to give for placing my food in a bag. I don't mind giving a tip for good service, good food at a dine in establishment but I don't like giving a tip before I taste the food, find out it's possibly the wrong food, no utensil, or no napkin. My opinion is requesting a tip at a drive thru fast food restaurant is a bit of a stretch. read more

Wilsonville: Friendly staff, however after going through the drive through I arrived home to discover two of my orders were wrong. I took them back with no issues and was assured the order was right and like a fool I didn't check. Returned home and discovered the order was wrong again. I returned to the restaurant which they fixed however was not offered anything for wasting my fuel for my inconvenience for their mistakes. The food is just ok, I bought the yumm sauce and can make it better at home for a fraction of the price. Lesson learned. The store is supposed to open until 9pm. I went there at 5:30 pm to see a sign on the door that they were open until 7:30pm. I thought no problem that's not for another 2 hours. There were 4 workers inside and the door was locked. They had also turned off their online ordering system at around 5pm which is why I drove there since their website stated you needed to order in store. read more

I eat cafe yumm all the time. I've been to every location more than once in the Portland area. This location has the most inconsistent of them. Mainly the issues are first that this location gives you significantly less food in a bowl then all other locations. When I order a yumm bowl of any type at the Beaverton location the bowl is filled to the top every time. (Often i even get it in the next sized container). I usually have a hard time finishing a large. With this wilsonville location no matter what time and time again the portions are significantly smaller and do not fill the bowls. I have mentioned this to the Beaverton staff and they told me they hear from other customers that the wilsonville location gives small portions. Additionally the wilsonville locations consistency of the bowls varies. One day you may get a bowl that is heavy with yumm sauce making it a soup. The next day you get one almost dry to the bone then have to pay for extra sauce. This location use to be awesome I've been going here for many years. I don't know what happened but the pandemic hit and the locations quality went way down. The staff is now much younger generation. I hope you all figure it out, The Whole Bowl is a far drive and I would love to be able to go to cafe yumm again. read more

Great "healthy" concept, so many failures and very poor execution. We have tried this place about 9-10 times now but every.single.time. they mess something up in our order. The best was them forgetting meat on the whole order - literally just gave us huge bowls of rice with barely any veggies. The setup is similar to Chipotle however you cannot see them make the food (unfortunate since they continually make mistakes) and most of the food is clearly from canned/packaged...not quite fresh (crappy cheese, sour cream, beans, tomatoes, etc). I am sorry but adding avocado and a weird sauce to your food does not justify the price and mistakes! The inept staff here somehow cannot put 7 ingredients in a bowl correctly. Seriously it is not rocket science. I don't even think a McDonald's would hire this kitchen staff. Easy mistakes to fix if you are dining in, but the manager or front end people should be double checking all to go orders. But they never do. And the manager is conveniently always on break if you have a complaint! Joke of a business, won't be back. read more

I have friends who rave about this place, so I expected more. I ordered Asian Man Salad. It was very average--the chicken was flavorless, but the almonds were good. It looked pretty but didn't taste fresh. I know this is fast food, but after visiting so many great food carts, I expected better flavor for my lunch. My daughter ordered a side of chicken skewer with her average tasting salad--the chicken was tough, dry and covered with a syrupy teriyaki sauce; it was cloyingly sweet and artificial tasting. Sadly, we were there on a busy day, so our fast food took 25 minutes. When we asked for a to go container because we were about to be late, the pleasant but incompetent food handler never brought it. I come here Atleast twice a week and get the same thing every time: medium hot n jazzy with no cilantro add SW chicken. Half the time there are no surprises, and I get what I ordered. The other half of the time I either get cilantro in my bowl, barely any chicken, or my favorite, 1-5 slices of avocado. Today I got 1 single slice of avocado on my bowl... not even a quarter of an avocado. I have a feeling i get an employee that just enjoys skimping people, then I get one that loves to load em up. A great establishment for tasty food you can feel good about! Their Yumm sauce definitely has a specific flavor to it (which I love), and although I have friends who say they're not a fan of, there are a lot of other menu items as well without the sauce. I'm always getting their small Yumm! Bowl which is highly customizable and although it seems spendy for the size, it is packed full of simple (but flavorful) ingredients and quite filling. Not a five star review as most times service is great, but occasionally (and often enough) not the most helpful or accurate.
