Fantastic! We have talked about trying this spot for awhile but just haven't. Happened upon boot barn at 10:30, not realizing they didn't open till eleven and thought well, let's try Sunny's diner. Why not?! Got in at 10:38, were able to self seat at the bar, and ate, paid and out the door in literally 30 minutes flat. This place looks tiny. It's HUGE. Everything is made in house - every single kind of bread - buns, loaves, biscuits, English muffins. Prices - great. Portions ginormous. We shared the biscuits and gravy with the chorizo and the giant cinnamon roll. We will have that cinnamon roll all week. Delicious and huge. Mimosa - was amazing. In a big glass not a champagne glass. Really a treat. Service is a military exercise. So fast and efficient. Oh and by the way, we came in on a Sunday. As of this writing, Sunny's only has a 4 start rating. I'm a hard disagree. This place is easily 5 star. The portions are huge! I mean seriously, just check out my picture. That's only half of the omelette in their smallest size available. I'm an avid over eater and I was struggling with the final bites of the omelette. The service was terrific. Our waitress checked in with us just the right amount, and food came out quickly. This place gives off old school diner vibes and fits the bill perfectly for a breakfast spot. My only criticism is the drinks could be poured stronger, but most people aren't going to a breakfast spot to get silly, so eh. This older review was highly inaccurate. Other than the Biscuit and Berry Jam...the Omelette is NOT worth getting ! Seriously. I'm sorry, but I Exaggerated the Omelette review after talking with Johnathan (the Manager). I was allowing them to correct their Omelettes... which they DID NOT do. The place was packed and for the entire time we were there a constant stream of customers were coming in! The poor wait staff were flying around like mad! They did amazing though! Really fun atmosphere and decor, just fun. The food was okay, the biscuits and gravy were pretty bland. Great biscuits, gravy didn't seem seasoned at all, barely any sausage in it. My family loves a good brunch but we don't love a long wait. Thankfully, we have Sunny's Dinner in town. This place is a good size with a lot of tables. I don't think I've ever had to wait more than a few minutes to get a table. The service is alright and the people are friendly enough. The food here is casual. Very much in the spirit of a diner. You'll find a good selection of your typical brunch options from all things eggs to burgers. The portions are large. You will not leave hungry. Looking for a quick and convenient nearby spot for breakfast and gave this place a try. As you walk in they have fresh baked bread and monster size cinnamon rolls available for purchase to take home. Server greeted me and took my order. Food came quickly. Got the biscuits and gravy. I liked the biscuits but something was OFF with the gravy. I just didn't like the sausage they use in it. I love a good country ham as a breakfast meet and of course a biscuit is the cherry on top. Or rather, marionberry, of which I spread tons of butter and marionberry jam all over that biscuit. Coffee was a good cup of brown, and our server made sure our table of caffeine fiends was satisfied. Great crisp on the hashbrowns, you can tell their doing wonders on that griddle. An interesting diner restaurant. We went for breakfast and the food was good in both quality and quantity. I had the I can't stop crying scramble. It was an interesting chorizo, hash brown scramble with two eggs on top. I also had this queso cheese that was interesting. I'm not sure I'm gonna recommend this dish, but I think I enjoyed the eggs and hash brown chorizo's. Service was good sit down restaurant that I really enjoyed. And the place used to be a sushi restaurant a long time ago that I used to go to all the time and then they closed and it became something else for a while and then that closed and now it's Sonny's diner. It has changed a lot and the internal layout is interesting Go give it a try for breakfast or lunch. I think you may like it. read more

Loved this spot. The food was delicious, I got the huevos rancheros and it was very spicy which I loved. Their French toast were also delicious, they make their own bread so that's what they used for the French toast. They also make their own ginormous cinnamon roll. We were in town and on the road to the airport for a last bite to eat with friends before flying out. We were looking for a place to have breakfast on the way and found Sunny's Diner We popped in and immediately were met by a smiling waitress who quickly got us settled with some hot coffee. We have been having a family meal here on Sundays for years and the food has always been delicious. We tried the homemade chorizo sausage and gravy on biscuits, great Ruben sandwiches, good ham and link sausage. so good. Eggs cooked overeasy were just right. It's a breakfast and lunch place only, and their menu is breakfasts and sandwiches/burgers/salads and a few other items. They also make their own bread which is fresh and tasty. Also giant cinnamon rolls and biscuits to go! I tried the patty melt on my first visit and it's huge, and appropriately greasy. Not my fave patty melt but I am kinda picky. I've had their club sandwich and it was excellent, and I couldn't finish it either. Breakfast they do fast and well. French toast made from their cinnamon swirl bread (wish they had real maple syrup tho) was great. Bacon came crispy as ordered. Eggs done right. You really can't go wrong here! I have now been here twice. The first time was ok second time not so much. For a place that sells their bread I am pretty unimpressed by it. We considered buying a loaf until we tasted it. They were out of a lot of items the second time we came here and couldn't make several of their dishes. It was a Monday and the server said they had a busy weekend. We didn't receive several items we ordered until we reminded our server and no-one came back to check on us after that. Because of Panera Bread not having romaine lettuce at lunch (see my post), we decided to try Sunny's. What a difference! We were greeted and sat promptly. Our waitress, Kelsey, was very attentive and refilled drinks without being asked. The food was delivered quickly. I had the Monte Cristo and it was excellent. My wife had the French toast with eggs and bacon. The portion of French toast was HUGE and delicious! The prices were reasonable, service was excellent, and the staff was extremely personable. And the cinnamon buns looked delicious (restraint was shown - this time!). We will be back! read more

Glad there's a new spot in Tualatin that serves classic diner breakfast. It has a bit of resemblance of the previous restaurant that used to be there (a sushi belt restaurant). Although it is a diner, it doesn't have much of a cozy feel because of the industrial design of the interior. I got the Corned Beef Hash Breakfast with Wheat Toast which came with hash browns. Most of my family got an omelet or pancakes. The corned beef hash and hash browns tasted fine. It lacked some depth in flavor so we did ask for some ketchup and hot sauce to eat with it. The standout for me was surprisingly the toast. I don't tend to eat the toast with my meal but I'm glad I had it this time. They make their bread in house and you can tell from the quality of the bread. Their toast slices were thick so you could really taste all the delicious baked goodness. Well, sadly I think this restaurant needs to improve on not only the flavors of their food but the quality and the menu description. We were looking forward to the Bloody Mary but it has such little flavor we had to add Worcestershire, salt and pepper to get it to pop a little. I'm thinking the vodka was misplaced with water. The cinnamon toast has some cinnamon sprinkled but very little. Maybe times are tight so they are being skimpy but the prices do not reflect what you would expect to receive. read more

Unfortunately, today was my first time at Sunny's Diner. They were short 2 waitstaff and a hostess. I waited a long time for my food. It was not what I ordered. The waiter had too many people to serve. He did bring me some hard scrambled eggs which is what I ordered and not 2 over easy eggs relatively quickly when I mentioned it. It was unexpected. I was trying to eat the runny eggs. My toast was covered in black specs. Not sure how they toasted it. I am not sure if I will try again. I was in my seat for 55 minute and got food around 50 minutes into my wait. I wanted to like it. It is usually closed when I have gone by it. I did tip well. It was not the waiters fault that he had so many people to serve. read more
