This place has really good potential. I ordered the zesty turkey on sourdough. The bread was delicious and so were the fries. But the price you pay for the amount of meat was upsetting. It had 3 slices of turkey on it; it was basically all bread. Still a very good sandwich between the bread and sauce but needed more turkey as it was supposed to be the main ingredient. Also, I ordered no tomatoes and it had tomatoes on it. They did have a cool powered train that went around the top of the restaurant to match all of the train themed wall art. read more

We walked in and the place was super busy. Always a good sign that a sandwich shop is being supported by the locals. We found the menu board a little confusing, but the guy at the register was knowledgeable and helpful. Could've been the owner. Great sandwiches here at a fair price and made fresh. Every now and then I crave a BLT and they have the BEST bacon here, really thick and smokey. I do order extra bacon as its so good. Also the staff is so friendly and one time I even had the owner bring me my sandwich, who does that anymore? This is one of my favorite spots to get a refreshing meal in McMinnville. I always call in my order and they are very kind, and they have consistently had my food ready in 10-15 minutes. They add a generous portion of chicken that is seasoned well, along with salsa and ranch. Super good if you mix the two and add as dressing! Classic sandwich shop in McMinnville. The shop holds true to its 90s vibes and the train set is still set up high above (even if it's not working). The food is good. My usual go-to meal is the ham sandwich or ham and egg. But today I went with the chicken fajita sandwich. While the sauce was delish, I realized that as a poultry averse sandwich eater, I shouldn't have ordered from the For Chicken Lovers menu. I went one morning and ordered a breakfast sandwich in the drive thru. When I got to the window and had already paid, they told me their toaster was broken and my food would be cold. Or they could microwave it. Microwaving bread makes it turn into a rock, everyone knows this. Ordered a chicken orchard salad. They put the dressings inside the container which left almost no room for my salad. I had less than a handful of lettuce and every other ingredient. I don't want dressings handled by bare hands to be inside touching my salad. Also, one of the dressings (there were THREE) has completely spilled all over the other 2 containers. Additionally my soup was cold in the middle but hot on the edges, which leads me to believe it was microwaved. I first went to Sandwich Express in Salem in the late 1990's. Knowing firsthand that they have been in business this long I was dying to eat at the McMinnville location. And they did NOT disappoint. My sandwich was as good as I can remember. The bread is amazing and the condiments are plentiful. I loved my sandwich. The choo-choo train rambling around the walls/ceiling is just a bonus and would be great for entertaining my grandson when I bring him next. Great lunch!! read more

I wanted to love this location SO bad. I moved to mcminnville from Dundee after living there 20+ years, having been going to the newberg location and absolutely falling in love and becoming a regular there. We have been here a handful of times at the mac location. It always comes with a nice attitude, a wrong order and always regretting i didn't drive the extra 15 to newberg. My boyfriend is allergic to onions and always asks for no onion and no to a few other toppings and for some reason even though its on the ticket, they still put them on the sand-which. The lettuce and tomatoes are always disgusting, soggy, discolored-brown, just flat out uneatable. We end up eating on half of the bread, picking off more than half of it. Why do we have to do that when we asked for none of that specific item? Oh well. We learned our lesson today and wont be coming back to the mac location. Also, the new thick cut fry's are severely under seasoned and just taste flat out bad. The past few times we came, we asked for remakes of our food and just got huge eye rolls and very sloppily made re-makes of our sandwiches. So we didn't even bother this time.
