After I got the bag with two VERY LARGE boxes inside, I thought 'oh boy, I'm never going to finish all this'. Then fully half of the bento box was coleslaw and sauces, and the salad was fairly flat. So...not as much food as I had initially thought. For what I paid, however, it wasn't enough. There were like 5-6 pieces of chicken in the bento (a couple of more would have been nice). Ordered through Door Dash and 2 of last 3 times they messed up our order. They keep leaving off the jazzy sauce when we order hot n jazzy (3 separate orders). Only once have they made this menu item correctly. This completely changes the flavor of the bowl. They also put yumm sauce in our child's bowl when we specified to leave it off. The last order the rice wasn't just a little cold it seemed like old rice that they had forgotten to heat up. A little cold I could expect in transit but this on top of incorrectly making our bowls ruined our order. Guess I can't order delivery from here anymore as quality can't be expected, its expensive, and not easy to return if things are messed up. What's holding them up? 15 minutes in, all parties are seated now, no food for anyone. Another couple orders, takes a seat. 20 minutes in, the last couple who ordered are the only people in the restaurant with food. Ok. 25 minutes in, most people have food now, we are wondering where our beers are at least. Maybe we can drink enough to forget this place. 30 minutes in, most people are gone again, eaten and left. Restaurant pretty empty. We ask about our food. "Just a few minutes". Yeah. Right. 35 minutes in, food comes. Yay? Foods cold. Tastes fine, but not worth a 35 minute wait while I'm hungry. Isn't this fast food? Cashier walks by, we comment to him that service was unacceptable. He already has gift card to apologize. Tried this place near my house as some family members have raved about Cafe Yumm from their time at OSU. The new building is very nicely designed and furnished. Nice dining area, and there's a small patio outside too. Drive thru too, but it's not open just yet. Staff was trying extra hard because senior management was on site that day. It was our first time at a Cafe Yumm so the over-eager cashier gave us the spiel, including how they are having a promotional discount on the bowls since they opened recently. I ordered a small Hot n Jazzy with a few modification, but ended up with a medium something, with the modifications. If that was spicy, then my taste buds have died - not a single thing was "hot" about this. So I think they must have messed up my order. Anyway, the medium bowl I got was quite small. I added chicken ($2 extra for barely 2 oz) to my bowl, and I was still hungry afterwards. That medium bowl with chicken cost $8.25. Ouch. And while the food was fresh, it wasn't that amazing. I am not sure what the hype is all about, frankly. It was veggies on a bowl of rice. I can do that at home. I would expect to pay $6.50 or so for what I ordered. Meh, this chain has a nice concept but is highly inconsistent. This location is not consistent. Nor is the Eugene/Springfield exit one. Arrived to a very nice gentleman greeting us up front and explaining free samples were available to us of any bowls. We had been here, so no samples needed today. We figured out our order and placed it--a lot of food was ordered for 3 people. There were about two other tables present in the restaurant at the time we arrived (1:45 PM), but it was very slow overall in terms of business. Tables were sticky and some even dirty in the dining room. An employee came out with a large tray of food to deliver, and then placed it down in front of the people who ordered after us, on their table, which was 10 feet from where we were sitting. The ladies at this table stated it wasn't their food, and we realized it was ours, telling the employee it was the wrong table (not too mention the wrong table card/number). The ladies insisted it wasn't theirs, and the employee insisted it WAS theirs. All the time, we are calling out to her to state she has it wrong and the food belongs to us. Then, she picks up all the food, and brings it to us. At this point, the food is luke-warm at best, not too mention touched by other people with the plate exchanges. The employee was "out too lunch" figuratively, and overall the experience was underwhelming. Tried the new Zucchini/Corn bowl, and was unimpressed--no flavor, nothing unique. My dining partners did enjoy the "bean soup", even though it was more like a solid-state chili (very thick). Love the concept, but the delivery needs work--pun intended. read more

This was my first trip to Yumm. The restaurant is very nice looking and clean, with plenty of seating both inside and outside. I got a bowl with chicken added, which made it a bit expensive $9.25. The flavor combos are very good with olives, cilantro, rice, chicken, and sauce. Some of the ingredients seemed to come from cans, rather than fresh, which was disappointing if it's true. Flavor was excellent, though I'll have to ask for extra sauce next time. Seems like a healthy alternative, but I'm not completely convinced at this point about freshness or organic ingredients. Cafe Yumm is good! I've been to this location a few times, but the last time I went some of the rice wasn't cooked all the way. That really is my only complaint. They seem to always be busy. I always get the small smoky bowl which has a little spice to it. If you're on then go there's a convenient drive through. I became a fan of Cafe Yumm years ago in Eugene, then the Corvallis location and now Wilsonville. I've been through the drive-thru three times now at the Wilsonville location. The Medium original Yumm bowl is my absolute fave. The drive thru is a little slower than other fast food places, but I feel Cafe Yumm is a step above fast food.
