Stopped by here while in the area and looking for just a latte. I was pleasantly surprised to find a wide selection of quiches being served. I got a green chile chicken quiche which melted in my mouth and was delicious. My latte was great as well and I appreciated all the unique flavors for their syrups. The decor inside was homely and warm. The man serving me was super friendly and I could tell he was one of the reasons so many regulars stopped in to talk to him while I was there. The cafe has a very welcoming atmosphere and stands out with its European influenced menu. The only downside is that this isn't a place that wants people doing work in there with their laptop which is a shame. There is a "no laptop" sign which can be seen as a plus to others, but for me, I love working remotely at coffee shops and this will definitely prevent me from coming back as much. read more

We popped into Cafe Zuri on a Saturday morning to grab a bakery style breakfast. We ordered two different quiches and two cappuccinos. The interior is cute and has a European cafe feel, complete with cocktail options, unique coffees, pastries, and breakfast burritos. Note that there is no indoor seating at all. Our quiches and coffees were good but pretty expensive... we paid $25 for two quiches and two cappuccinos which seems steep to me. Cafe Zuri has a cozy vibe, and I like it! They have a pretty cool interior, very energetic and friendly staff, and tons of different coffee/espresso options. I got Chai tea latte with a shot and hazelnut which I thought it'd taste weird, but it was actually pretty delish! Also they sell homemade bloody Mary mix! Their goal is to bring people together, European cafe style, promoting conversation and not reclusion. Wanted to try a new coffee shop to study at , my girlfriend and I entered and walked around to the different seating options trying to find one with a plug . The barista noticed and let us know in a rather pretentious tone there are no plugs here , laptops are not allowed , "try being present and having a real conversation". Hmmmm. If I can get a million reads on this review then I'm sure that a person smarter than me will be able to figure out the way to solve this serious culinary problem: How can a place reheat their quiche to make it both quickly served and great tasting? Since the closing of the Rolling Pin Bakery (they had a lil' doohickey machine they used to magically reheat their quiche that worked purdy darn well) almost every other friggin' place reheats their quiche in a microwave which destroys the crust--both in taste and consistency. Café Zuri suffers from that same difficulty. They have almost a dozen different quiches on any given day, but they all get nuked in the ole m/w for reheating. While the quiche quality is high, they destroy the dish by m/w'ing it. This doesn't work and I don't understand why really good bakers don't understand this. (I'm talkin' to you Mr. Wooden Spoon, and you too Ms. Detour Bakery). I guess I could just beg each place to reheat my choice of quiche in their standard or convection oven and wait for 15 or so minutes. No problem there in the bigger sense of the picture. And maybe La Fillette has the best practical approach (see my recent review). But the bottom line is that if we can send a man to Mars (I'm talkin' to you Donald Trump), why can't we figure out how to reheat @#$W%^! quiche? Came here in the morning with my girlfriend, we were both early for work so we stopped in to try and get a coffee and sit down for like 15~20min so she could work on her laptop before she went in. The who I assume to be owner stopped us from ordering to let us know there are no laptops allowed in their cafe!? I have never been to a cafe that does this, but the place across the street has no problem with bringing in your laptop.. Me & my boyfriend stopped in here bc it looked like a cute lil cafe. We got an iced vanilla coffee with milk, an iced latte with 4 espresso shots, oat milk, and French vanilla flavoring, two different quiches (jalepeno bacon & chile chicken), and a salted caramel macaroon. I genuinely respect the owners vision and determination to stick to a no laptop policy. I also understand wanting to create a space that encourages human interaction and community building. With that being said, I was new to town and did not catch the no laptop sign and I was met with hostility before even sitting down and removing a laptop from my backpack. As soon as I walked in the manager/owner approached me as I was looking at their pastry selection trying to make a purchase decision. She told me if I planned on sitting and working that she wouldn't allow it and I was rather confused, being new here and all. She then responded condescendingly "read the sign right in front of you" and pointed to a very small piece of paper taped to their glass. As if that wasn't enough to throw me off, she then said in a pretentious tone "it's time for you to unplug." I then felt a really uncomfortable tension and an overwhelming sense of guilt for upsetting the store manager so under the pressure I bought several macaroons to avoid further judgement from her. I immediately ran out of there after paying. Honestly those macaroons were really good which is why I'm giving them 2 stars instead of 1. I've been here twice and I loved both experiences! The first time I waltzed right in and ordered a latte that was so flavorful and delightful that I declared to my fiance that I must stop by Cafe Zuri every time we are in the area. I even bragged about my lovely experience to my roommates, but they already were aware of how great the cafe is, so that deflated my caffeinated ego. Matter not, I came back the second time and there was a huge line! I stubbornly decided to wait in line no matter how long it took, and boy did it take long! They deserve all the service they can get, at least. At last, it was my turn and I ordered the honey lavender mocha which was so unique and tasty! Not surprising, very satisfied. The winner is 'hospitality.' We have visited my brother in Denver recently. He lives a stone's throw from Zuri. We go 'every' morning to be greeted by Tomash and his wife and staff. Alright people... why are you hating on the fact that you cannot use laptops at Cafe Zuri? The owner, the signs, everything is very clear that you cannot use a laptop in the cafe. What a great little find during our first trip to the Highlands Farmers Market. My husband and I were hoping to find coffee and breakfast at the farmers market itself (our old farmers market always had these options), but this one did not. I drink Iced Americanos and they use Coda coffee, which can be found other places but is done exceptionally well here. I enjoy a quiche most often, but when I want to mix it up the amazing French pastries . Obviously a small family run shop. This place is always filled with the most friendly and interesting people. Staff and patrons.
