I came here to grade some papers after one of my colleagues suggested some new Cafes to see. I have to say I am in love with the highlands area and glad I came across this spot. A little dive spot in an old house but it has a certain charm to it. I got the kiko's panini and a house coffee with an espresso shot. The panini was good but a bit heavy so trust me water is needed. However, the flavors pair very well. Sitting outside while the weather is cool is very nice and I bet it's beautiful at night with the lights. This is a great spot to work solo or to come with friends or a date night. I plan on coming back here in the future.

Great outdoor space that is dog friendly. The patio is partially covered giving you the option of sun/shade. The inside is cute but very small with one single bathroom, which is perfectly fine except for when it's crowded. Service can be a little slow for food. You get your drinks right away once you order. The cold brew was delicious and my black tea with lavender syrup was very refreshing. The portions are good, making us perfectly full.

Second time here. First time, we were rushed. This time, we had some time, and they have a whole new bar area for seating. We will definitely come back now that we can sit there. Anyway, I had the Hector Panini and it was great again. Lots of delicious pesto flavor on a breakfast sandwich. They have LOADS of hot sauce, so look around the store for that magical shelf. You can go grab a non-alcoholic beverage or grab some breakfast booze too. Staff was solid and very friendly. I look forward to my third time when I try and not order the Hector sandwich. Definitely recommend and see you there.

I got the spicy turkey and everything about it was amazing. Didn't wait too long and the place had a cozy vibe. If I had to pick a place for a quick lunch or a nice place to sip a coffee, this would be the place.

I used to love going here. Now it's my Least favorite place. I ordered a breakfast croissant and it was burnt and died out with a paper thin cardboard tasting egg on it.

Met the owners at the bar, very welcoming. They have a nice little courtyard and porch, the weather was lovely, I had a French Pinot Noir and enjoyed people watching from the front porch. Felt like home .

I want to love this place and keep coming back. The menu always sounds good the patio is fantastic. The disappointment this morning came from craving a side of fruit! And getting only two pieces of orange. I based my order off the fruit description otherwise I would have gone with a bagel sandwich. The flavor was on point. Lattes were good. I'll still come back.

Went across town 'cause for the last couple of weeks I've been on a quest for the best quiche in the city and one of my homies (on Yelp Talk) told me that I needed to try out the Bug & Belle Bakery in Highlands. Well, as you might note from my adjacent review of B&B it's now closed. Bummed out by the sign on the door I trudged back to my car only to look up and see Highlands Cork & Coffee right across the street. On a whim I called them up (from 50' away:) and asked the critical question, "Hey, do you have quiche on the menu?" The response brought a smile to my previously frowny face when the sweetest of voices said, "Why honey I'm just taking one out of the oven as we speak." "Cut me a slice and I'll be over in 72 seconds," I said. And darn if I didn't walk through the door as she was setting that cheddar/bacon/spinach/onion quiche slice right on a plate and serving it up with a cup of some freshly brewed Lavazza coffee. The quiche? Good but not great. A little bit listless crust and decent but not spectacular filing flavors met my quiche-needs but didn't send me over the moon in the taste department. The coffee however was rich and well balanced and the service was extraordinarily great so all-in-all I became a fan for sure. Stop on by when you're in the 'hood. The place has the friendliest service and very good food. Sign me, David "Still quiche-a-go-go" M.

Walked to this cute house, turned cafe with some friends and had a lovely time catching up on their patio. The outdoor spaces are great and it didn't feel too crowded at all. The line to place your order can take a long time because one person takes your order and makes your coffee or drinks on the spot. We were lucky and didn't have anyone in front of us but we did take a while for the folks behind us. I ordered an iced chai tea latte and a bacon breakfast burrito. The chai was fantastic, perfect amount of spice. The burrito was good, with the green chili giving it some heat but not overwhelming. Just a really chill place to come and relax, I'll try their cocktails next visit!

Yikes..... I would never come here again. When I arrived some man was sitting outside with a DOG on the TABLE. A DOG ON THE TABLE. Excuse me? Have you never heard of health code? The worker who was washing the patio had no interest in letting this customer know that that's DISGUSTING. I ordered a breakfast sandwich which cost me $8 and was one egg maybe 1 oz of cheese and bread. Horrible. No taste & so overpriced. Avoid!!!

I started going when they were still operating out of their food truck, and honestly, watching them grow into a permanent restaurant feels like seeing your favorite underground band finally make it big... except instead of music, they're dropping cheesy taco masterpieces. The queso tacos are absolutely ridiculous in the best possible way: crispy, cheesy, messy, and worth ruining at least one shirt over. And the consome? That stuff could heal emotional damage. It's rich, comforting, and somehow makes you immediately want "just one more taco" even when you're already full. Every time I'm in Denver, this place is mandatory. Not optional. Not "if there's time." Mandatory. My vacation itinerary basically starts with flights and ends with tacos. So happy to see Kike's getting the recognition they deserve. If you haven't been yet, prepare to have your standards permanently ruined for all other tacos.

For two people, ordered a set of 3 tacos (2x barbacoa and carnitas) and then another 3 tacos (asada, carnitas, and pastor), birria egg rolls, and a bean, cheese, and rice burrito. Not a big deal but they put all the tacos in one box and I was able to differentiate which 3 tacos that I ordered. This place is super stingy with salsa. They gave me 2 tiny containers for salsa and then when I asked for a couple more, the lady said she could only give me two more. :( Excited to try the food and started off great with a simple bean, cheese, and rice burrito but outside of that everything else was very meh. Not sure how but all the meats were so dry, I ordered braised/slow cooked meats (barbacoa and carnitas). Asada and pastor were okay as well. Everything lacked seasoning and the salsa didn't add much to the tacos either. Birria tacos were also dry and consommé needed salt to be added. Value was not bad at $37.64. Tacos were about $3-3.20 per

Walk in casually as you go about your day on a sunny afternoon and have a quick Mexican food along…read morewith a refreshing Mexican beer kind of place is how I summarize this place. This long skinny establishment - not necessarily super spacious - can offer you a decent food that you can count on. You don't need anybody to go with - you can be a solo diner because this place is not intimidating in any way. It's that casual. I think this establishment was born in the old Stoney's Cantina space. Whether the place was huge enough to create two businesses (and thus La Loteria occupied half of it), I sort of saw some "remnant" of Stoney's was the impression that I got. Whatever I am correct on this or not, this casual Mex place is all about vivid pastel colored interior where red is mostly dominant. Intriguing murals on walls 360 degrees are quite impressive. Once you are inside, a huge arrow to direct the people to order to their left at the ordering counter. That ordering counter extends all the way where you'll see some bar seatings. The right side of it mostly has tables for small to large groups of people. Like I said, this place is not huge but at the same time, people don't stay long to dine; the turnover is quite quick in a way. The restaurant also gets many walk-in to-go order placers as well. I got me the Aztec Bowl for to-go. This dish is only $11 (as of early May of 2025) and is a vegetarian item. I consume a lot of vegetarian diet and yet my instinct loudly spoke to me to add some protein to it. Whether or not you can keep it non-meat to stay in the vegetarian zone, adding some protein to this dish is a must as if it was by itself, it would be a bit boring because it only has some greens and some slices of avocado. As the add-on, I got me the carne asada ($5.00) that comes with rice. Not bad.. I didn't eat it right after I got home; I meant to get it to eat it the next day which I did (this AM.) It was still fresh where nothing tasted stale. The carne asada was well-cooked with seasonings. In other words, it wasn't salty at all but held good flavors. Now on the receipt, I saw a charge of what's called "takeout service fee" which is 18%. I kind of assumed that this was mostly the mandatory gratuity. At the end of the card transaction, I remember that the different gratuity percentages were listed on the machine and they were quite small because of this fee. It'll be up to you to add more if you wish. Some people might complaint about this mandated system and yet I kind of understand that businesses nowadays must survive by navigating through the rising cost of living. As we have seen our favorite businesses disappear in the recent years, I am here to support them by whatever I could within my power. Whereas the parking on Broadway is a pain in the neck at any time of the day, if I think of a casual Mexican dining in the Baker neighborhood next time, I may stop by here. It's a good establishment to know.

It's also very unassuming. It looks like a very small restaurant on the outside but once you are inside, you'll be shocked to see its good size dining area. This place is all about happiness. I mean seriously!! They care about their customers that get satisfied with their service and meals. And it does draw a very diverse crowd from the Hispanics to Caucasians to Asians, I mean you name it. They also get a lot of to-go orders. Some people came in, grabbed their food and went on their way for the night. My friend got the Torta Los Carboncito. This is a massive sandwich with plenty of meat inside. Since the menu has colored picofor almost each item, what caught my attention was the fish dish. There are two of them: one is trout and the other is something else (I forgot) but I got me the non-trout one. The lady asked me if I wanted the flour or corn tortillas so I went with the corn one. As soon as I got home, my late night snacking started. I only took several bites out of that whatever the huge fish. And oh my goodness, it was so delicious! Well-seasoned with very light salt. Although I mainly got it for tomorrow morning/lunch I had a hard time quit eating because of its deliciousness. Extremely welcoming staff (I even met the owner, Alex as he was dining with his family), quality food and value pricing, this place checks out for the hidden gem restaurant that's not necessarily super fancy but it's worth every penny and time. Yelping is so much fun. That is why I cannot quit my foodie-ness! What a nice discovery!
