Found this gem hidden in Old Town Scottsdale to meet a friend for coffee and it did not disappoint. Staff were so friendly, my latte was delicious, and I walked away with a bag of coffee beans! T, their coffee roaster, is so kind and was who made my latte and helped me select which coffee beans to take home. They also have a wine bar attached that opens at noon and hope to try out soon! read more

Date of visit: June 6, 2026 This was a stop on our local food tour, and we enjoyed the coffee that we got so much that we came back later that day for a bag of coffee to bring home for a friend that enjoys trying java from different regions and roasters. The space is very small, so don't plan on coming here to crank out some work for a few hours, this is very much a stop for a minute, not stop for a while kind of place. While on the food tour we got a little bit of background on the founders of the establishment and their local success along with a wonderful Brown Sugar Cold Brew. I am a bit of a weakling when it comes to coffee so I needed an extra splash of cream but then I was good to go! Staff on both visits were very friendly and welcoming, too. Would definitely recommend popping into Yellow Spruce if you're in the area. read more

I discovered Yellow Spruce Roasters one day as I was walking around Old Town Scottsdale on my lunch hour. There are so many hidden gems in this area and Yellow Spruce is one of them! I have since gone in at least 3 more times and each visit has been pleasant. They offer some breakfast items as well as a variety of coffees, lattes and the like. I especially enJOYed their Chicken Salad Sandwich, as they stuff that thing until the filling oozes out! Oh yeahhh!! They also have some really good gelato!! The space inside is pretty small, but they do have some counter seating. There's limited seating outside as well. Small coffee shop in the heart of old town. Coffee is good, basic flavors without any fun creative coffee options. Service was very nice and fast. They were out of chicken salad which limited their food options quite a bit. They have pastries (muffins, bagel), but not much else. I had a chance to stop by the old town in Scottsdale and I decided to walk around and I found this unique coffee shop. I order Chai Latte and it was absolutely amazing and perfectly well balanced. The shop has offered both indoor and outdoor with limited sitting areas, however, I would not mind to get my coffee from this place and walk around town which it has so many things to see in the community. This place is such a hidden gem! I had some time to kill before an appointment and noticed the sign outside with Fall Martinis listed!! Yellow Spruce does coffee, gelato, wine and cocktails! The inside is small but they have a bar area for seating and a few tables and chairs. I think there are two parts to this shop and I only went to the side with the bar area which was super cute with really beautiful wood and coffee beans inside. Skyler was very helpful and made me my Sweater Weather martini. It was delicious and strong. Just what I needed. I can't wait to come back to try the coffee and/or gelato. This review is for the Yellow Spruce cafe located inside of the Scottsdale Public Library. It's not the same physical location as the one in old town, however it's the same coffee, tea, and matcha they serve. It's great to be able to grab an iced coffee and then go sit in a nice chair in front of a large window looking at the park. I ordered an iced latte with oat milk and one pump of caramel + vanilla syrup. A simple coffee order that tastes great. My partner got the iced matcha. He wasn't expecting it to be sweetened but we didn't ask, I tasted it and I like it a bit sweet. Straight up matcha can be a bit too bitter for me. I had been wanting to try Yellow Spruce for a while and happened to be in the area. It's located in old town and parking can get crazy but it's easy to find. Customer service was welcoming and indoors is on the smaller side but there's a few spots inside and seating outside. They have teas, coffee, energy drinks, gelato and a few food items. I went with a caramel latte and it was perfect. No bitterness, not to sweet and good balance of flavor. The gelato looked great but wasn't hungry so I'll definitely plan to grab some next stop in! read more

First off, Danny was super welcoming. He made us a chai martini which was creamy, delicious, smooth and just wonderful. My wife had the hibiscus mimosa which was like nothing we've had before. Presentation was great and flavor was even better. We also had the pulled jalapeno bread or something like that which was delicious. I hate to say this because I hope they keep prices low, but the bill was such a surprise. We have easily paid twice at other places for much less. Thank you for a great experience. read more

I have had a couple different drinks from this Yellow Spruce location and the coffee/cold brew was just okay. I feel like I'm the odd man out when it comes to Yellow Spruce because it was voted best coffee and people seem to love it! I had a seasonal fall beverage and while it smelled amazing, it didn't taste like anything. I was disappointed! I'm not sure if the cold brew and flavors were just less than normal or weak, but I was underwhelmed. For a $7 drink, I probably wouldn't come back and I'd spend my money somewhere else. read more

I was on a tour of Scottsdale and one of our stops was Yellow Spruce Roasters. I either had the choice of a free small coffee or a free small gelato. I chose the free gelato and they had this delicious salted caramel flavor. It was really sweet, and salty, and had gooey chunks of caramel inside. I don't know how they could have the caramel inside the gelato without it being too hard but they found a way to make the texture and flavor of the caramel work. I also got a chance to talk to the manager of the cafe who was nice. I could tell that they put a lot of time, effort, and passion into the development and success of their cafe. I would definitely come here again and I would also go on that tour again because it was really fun. read more

There is nothing unique or great about this place. You would think being located in downtown Scottsdale-a place where tourists fill the streets and with so many other coffee shops around, they would strive to be better. The coffee is subpar and the food offerings are awful. They are not made on site and there is not one thing about the food that makes it stand out. If you are only going to have a limited menu, make it worth what you are charging and your menu items are too limited to pair with your drinks. Furthermore, your employees, other than Noah, have limited knowledge of the beverages you serve. Very dissappointing and I will not be back. If you want better coffee and food, try the Experiment Coffee and Pastry, also located in downtown Scottsdale. read more

On the hunt for some cold refreshments for two adults and two kids, I popped into Yellow Spruce Roasters on a recent weekday afternoon... It was understandably pretty quiet inside as it was a hot summer afternoon in Scottsdale. The barista was not the friendliest, but took my order for two iced green teas. Unfortunately, she confirmed that they don't currently have lemonade, so I had to go elsewhere to find something for the kids. I would have preferred an Arnold Palmer or a splash of lemonade in the iced tea, but that wasn't an option. My suggestion in this scenario is either to carry lemonade or perhaps offer to add a bit of sorbet to the iced tea?! Or perhaps a syrup of some sort to flavor it? (Trying to be creative here) ;). I know some coffee shops carry a frozen lemonade, which I have a feeling would be a popular item in our crazy hot weather lately! The two iced teas + tip cost me approximately $13, which I found pricey, but I am always happy to support a local business. read more

My partner and I were visiting Old Town Scottsdale. During our adventure, we stumbled upon Yellow Spruce Roasters. We ended up getting some gelato! The team at Yellow Spruce Roasters are amazing! All of the team members were super helpful! We ended up getting a scoop of gelato - caramel and the banana dulce de leche. The flavors were so good! The caramel gelato had chocolate caramel chunks that were super scrumptious! My partner enjoyed the banana dulce de leche. The banana flavor wasn't too overpowering. We also picked up a Belgian waffle for breakfast the next morning. The prices weren't too expensive, approximately $17.00 for the scoops of gelato and the Belgian waffle. There are table seating inside and outside the Yellow Spruce Roasters. Found this adorable place today! We were looking for coffee and ended up ordering expresso martinis! The barista/bartender was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. We tried the Classic Expresso Martini which was not very sweet, which my friend enjoyed. The Amore Latte could be a dessert drink! I ordered the Dirty Chai-Tini. The coffee beans are roasted to perfection. The employees are helpful and polite. I honestly have never had a bad latte here. My most recent visit I bought a couple of bags of green tea (mixed leaves). Both were very good. This place will not disappoint you and will not serve you "bitter/burnt" coffee drinks. Meet the Business Owner: Yellow Spruce R.

Brian is a retired military veteran having served 23 years in the United States Air Force (active-duty and reserves) and a retired police officer for a major metropolitan police department. His military experience has afforded him the opportunity to travel all over the world and experience various coffee flavors. His law enforcement experience has shown him the importance of community how coffee brings people together both locally and internationally. Whether experiencing coffee overseas or to get through a late-night patrol, our founder believes in the entire coffee experience from seed to cup. His vision is to bring these experiences to Yellow Spruce customers. He has a deep passion for coffee and community, which is paramount to the quest to bring each customer quality coffee. This might be the best Vanilla Chai Latte I've ever had. Chai tea latte with sugar free vanilla and whole milk. It's just perfect.
