The coffee was seriously good. You could tell there was real attention to detail and a focus on quality. Such a unique concept, great atmosphere, and most importantly, amazing coffee. Ron said the he owns a coffee farm in Costa Rica (where he is from), but he sources his beans from around the world, depending on where the best beans are from at a particular time of year. At the front is the coffee bar where you can sample their coffees and chocolates. In the back, are the roasters, office, and areas where they make everything. They were kind enough to provide a tour. The Midge Coffee Spread was delicious (coffee + cocoa butter). You mix it into hot milk or hot water and it's lovely and smooth. The space is very small, so don't plan on coming here to crank out some work for a few hours, this is very much a stop for a minute, not stop for a while kind of place. While on the food tour we got a little bit of background on the founders of the establishment and their local success along with a wonderful Brown Sugar Cold Brew. I am a bit of a weakling when it comes to coffee so I needed an extra splash of cream but then I was good to go! Staff on both visits were very friendly and welcoming, too. Would definitely recommend popping into Yellow Spruce if you're in the area.
