I am in LOVE with this new coffee shop in town. I visited on day two of their new store and love it. I had the Vanilla Rooibos tea and really enjoyed it. Great flavor, nice quality tea. I also had the oatmeal raisin cookie and it's really nice. Good texture, good flavor. I look forward to many days in this coffee shop and trying more food and snacks. Favorite spot on Centre St. in general because of the INCREDIBLE staff who work there. I've been a regular for almost 2 years. Janice and Mark are the best. They're always personable, friendly, and make it feel like an individualized experience. They're clearly very experienced baristas and add a ton of genuine value to the place. They should get raises, honestly. Eli has been great, too! They've recently been under new management and Charlie (who was there temporarily to help with transition) was always so attentive and made everyone feel welcome. I really hope corporate knows that the talented employees there are who make the whole place. Great coffee, too, of course. read more

Every single time I come here for coffee, there's only one person working at the counter each transaction takes a REALLY long time. Today I stood in a line of four people for 15 minutes before giving up and heading to city feed. I came back later, and am currently have standing in a line of 3 people for 15 minutes, and the barista has been working on a frappe the entire time. It's an inefficient system and the coffee doesn't merit the wait. read more

The past 3 weeks I've head early shifts to where I need to be at work by 7am. Love caffe Nero coffee, but every time I arrived or tried to get coffee and breakfast from here before work the door is locked. Always someone still setting up pastries or today the woman inside stared right at me as she walked away back downstairs to what I assume is the storage room. 6:38, 6:40, 6:46, all times where I arrived and the door was drilled locked. Called, am staring at the person inside ignoring and not picking up the phone! If you're suppose to open at 6:30 why is it nearly 6:50 and the door is still locked. I had to settle with Dunkin' Donuts the past 3 weeks and it's just annoying no one can even be bothered to pick up the phone to confirm what time do they in fact open, the automated message says 6:30. By far the best cafe on Centre St. There is comfortable and ample seating (although sometimes a little wait to get a seat), with three additional tables outside. There is also a gas fireplace inside with several couches, which is going during the colder months. I've tried most of the beverages and pastries Caffè Nero offers, and all are fantastic. I've rarely had a barista make a drink that wasn't excellent. I personally love their lattes and capuccinos. Their cold brew is very strong and tasty as well. Their croissants are fresh baked throughout the day, and I always grab a Kouign Amann if they have one around, which is a sweeter, more rich croissant. Their muffins have tasty sugar toppings. All of their sandwiches are very good as well, although slightly expensive. Everything else at Caffè Nero is a good deal. read more

Love love love this cafe! It has a very cozy vibe. There is some bar-type seating near the windows, then booths, tables, and big cozy chairs in the back. There are also several tables on a patio outside in the front. The entire right wall of the cafe is covered in shelves of books. So interesting to browse through! I ordered a soy cappuccino and the barista was very friendly. My drink was made quickly and right in front of me. Tasted amazing! Perfect amount of foam and good tasting coffee. Yesterday an hour and a half before closing I tried ordering a frappe and the two boys on shift looked at me silently, then said that since it was an hour and half before closing they close down the machine. One of the boys was having a seperate conversation while taking my order on his AirPod in his ear. I was studying at a table and they started closing down like a half hour before actual closing and the kid with an AirPod started to sweep and was hitting my feet as I was sitting down, it felt incredibly passive aggressive like he wanted me to leave. My problem is not the coffee or the service. Both were perfectly fine. Didn't have a pastry so I can't speak to that. The problem is the coffee shop chock full of mostly people by themselves taking up tables and booths while they use the wifi. I went with my sister and we couldn't find a place to sit. One woman had her coat on the couch next to her. Another was "saving" a seat for some invisible person. Most people were not talking. There was this desperate sense of needing protect one's space. People, if you need wifi or have to study, go to the library! I will gladly go to JP Licks for coffee instead. read more

it's a cool vibe and i like the interior. Good sandwiches and coffee. I like to go in a grab a coffee and a sandwich, and take a seat or table for an appropriate amount of time. I like to think i'm considerate towards my fellow man and i then move on with my day. Unfortunately it seems there are just a ton of ppl kind of working on their masters thesis' and stuff or something, and they spread their work out and hang like for hours, without getting any food or drink. That's somewhat annoying. I get hanging out for a bit, but supporting the place by actually buying stuff is probably cool. I love the DTX location. Fast, efficient, and friendly service. Therefore, I was psyched when a location opened up in JP. I came here around 2pm on a Sunday and seating was pretty full. When I ordered a Caprese Sandwich the woman stared at me and responded somewhat with an attitude: "A what?" Hmmm. We also ordered the roast beef sandwich and a 16oz regular iced coffee. The total came out to be $~$20 While we were waiting for the sandwiches we decided to split a chocolate croissant (yum!). Flakey and just the right amount of chocolate. A different guy took this order and he asked if I we wanted it for here or to go. We took it to go. We waited roughly 10min for our sandwiches. When they were ready the woman who took the order called out the order and had two plates in hand with the sandwiches on them. She asked us if we wanted them for here or to go. When we said to go, she very clearly mouthed the F-word and rolled her eyes as she was turning away. On a brighter note the roast beef sandwich was delicious! Loved the horseradish sauce. read more

Dear Caffe Nero, I don't usually say this after only the first date but I love you. This is what a coffeeshop is all about, at least for an academic like me. I want a place with mellow music, some food (sweet or savory) to eat, a plethora of drinks to choose from, and free wifi. I also like being able to sit for hours (buying something every hour) as I write on my laptop. The variety of seats including small and large tables, lounge chairs, and cushy booths make this place ideal. I particularly love the little booth tucked away in the back near the napkins and straws. Lastly, something that I appreciate is that there are books everywhere, including one wall that is covered with old-looking books (I think they're fake but I don't care - it's the symbolism that counts). The atmosphere is what warrants the four stars. The food, however, warrants only 3. On my first visit I had a strawberry and banana smoothie which tasted delicious but wasn't mixed very well (too many little pieces of ice - not a very smooth smoothie). The caprese sandwich on a toasted baguette was yummy. On my second visit, I had a mocha frappe and a brownie. The mocha frappe was a bit tasteless and the brownie was dry and UNsweet. Not what I was looking for in such a fudgy looking brownie. Still, the staff pick up my plates and doesn't bug me about leaving. This is a place I will return to when I need a change of scenery while writing. read more

I love the environment here. It's cozy by the fireplace and the staff is warm and welcoming. It's a fairly big coffee shop in terms of seating. I've been here twice and it's been really busy so seating is kind of difficult to find, but only because its busy (not because there isn't enough seating). Large tables and booths are good for studying and the comfy chairs are perfect for reading. I'm an iced coffee person so I ordered the 16oz cold brewed coffee with vanilla flavoring. It's really sweet so I'll probably ask for half the amount of vanilla syrup next time. Check this place out! read more

Black drip coffee-okay, but much better coffee can be found at both Monumental Cupcakes and farther south, Fazenda. I don't drink cappuccinos or any of those fancy espresso drinks, but their americano is pretty good. Sandwiches-good and fairly priced, Pastries-not bad but wayyyyyy overpriced and not clearly marked. I just spent over $11 for a chocolate eclair and an apple turnover-ish thing that is about the size of my palm. I love caffe nero's coffee, which packs an incredible caffeine punch. They make a variety of delicious flavored lattes -try their lavender latte. Their baked goods and sandwiches are just okay and are overpriced for what you get. The staff is lovely. However, this space gets a lot of traffic, especially on the weekends. First impressions? LOVED IT. Amazingly fresh pastries, I got a whole wheat croissant and a Belgian chocolate muffin. Are you drooling yet? Also, on this day of just 5 degrees Fahrenheit, I dared trying their cold brew iced coffee. Very tasty, full flavor and perfectly brewed, coffee. My only regret is not getting the large. We scored a love seat in front of the fireplace.; right next to a wonderful collection of Stephen King novels and some great coffee table books on interior design. There are hundred more to browse, just as back up in case your iPhone died. Sandwiches were pricey but in line with City Feed. Coffee prices seemed a tad below Starbucks. This was a cute little cafe I made a pit stop at during a visit to Boston. It's a very open space with a lot of seating and the staff was extremely friendly. I ordered a coffee and bacon and cheese croissant. It was definitely great quality. I really wanted to try the prosciutto baguette, but the server at the counter did not know all of what was included in the pre made sandwich so I opted for the croissant. If I find myself in this area again, I'd return for sure! read more

This is a solid place to get a soy latte, put your head down, and then work your butt off. The staff is easy going and friendly and the menu choices are really good. The team here recently converted me to cold brew and I'm happy about that. During the week I spend a few hours here everyday doing contract work and on the weekend I come with me little 2yo daughter who loves their croissants and she also gets her one piece of chocolate per week. So she's also a big fan. The ambience is great and people are generally super friendly and happy to share space. Occasionally the temperature can be a little off but that's a really fine grain criticism. Overall this is a great addition to Centre St and the only real sprawling deep hang coffee shop. Ambiance is totally a game changer. It reminds me of old wooden style Laboratories. They are not fancy simple menu with excellent customer service is indeed respectable. You are not going to be confused while seeing on menu. Their Lattes are one of the best In town. If you try once you will totally forget the taste of Starbucks and other cafes too. Their Lemon Cake is tasty and amazing soft. Make sure to plan to go early because this place is always full of crowd and their free internet service pretty faster than compare to other places. read more
