There was eight in our party and no wait thanks to the reservation that our friend made for us. It didn't take long for our server to take our drink order, however, it did take a lengthy amount of time for her to return to take our food order and for our food to be delivered. They were a little busy, understandable, it was getting closer to the peak dinner hour. I get that they may have been short staffed, however, someone could have at least acknowledged our group. It did take a long time for our server to return. There was the issue with flies, our group noticed a couple flies on the table, however, when I looked up at the light fixture above our table, there must have been at least a dozen. I'm sorry to say that's not a good sight. Not sure why the place had an issue like that but they really need to take care of it. They did have lots of menu options and the food was very good. I ended up ordering the gnocchi and sausage entry... It was delicious!! One of our friends requested a special food prep because of a dietary restriction, our server was kind enough to accommodate that request. I made a reservation a week in advance with no problem. The entire party arrived before our reservation time (6:30pm). 7:10pm rolled around and I walked up to the hostess stand and politely said that I had made a reservation last week for 6:30pm this evening and she just stared and me and said "okay..." I looked at my watch signaling the 45 minute wait time. She told me that it would only be another 5 minutes and the server had an 11 top right now. I understand the service/food industry. If an 11 top and 9 top was too much, one of the reservations should not have been taken. Once we were seated (around 7:20pm) it took another 15ish minutes for someone to come around and introduce themselves. I believe that we were seated just to appease us. Our server was Marco and he was great. I have no complaints about any of the food or the service that Marco provided to us. However, the wait time was kind of ridiculous since we had a reservation. Unless I am dining solo and sitting at the bar, I am going to think twice before paying patronage to this local business, unfortunately. read more

One of our favorite restaurants in the Boardman area. We have been here tons of times, and I realized I have never done a review. We went around 7:30 on Saturday and luckily got a seat at the bar. The bartenders are always wonderful and so hard working. My husband got Jamison and ginger ale and over the cup! We split the arancini...WONDERFUL!!! Food and service are excellent! Went here for Valentine's Day. From first bite to last, was a very enjoyable evening.

No doubt the food is good. But I will not be going back. Along with the normal taxes on my bill, there was an additional $3.87 "service fee" that could NOT be explained. Also credit card purchases were almost $4.00 more than cash price! What a cheat!! If you need more revenue, raise your prices. Extremely disappointed. First the food was nothing spectacular, I ordered the Shrimp Scampi, the plate was $26 and came with 5 medium size shrimps. I heard the waiter tell another guess that the shrimp he order with his Alfredo dish were $2.50 each, so I ended up paying $14.50 for a bowl of angel hair pasta with wine and butter sauce. My fiancé ordered Penne Vodka $16.50 however the meal was served cold. How can this happen with pasta and sauce? Both dishes came with a salad, however when I received the bill, they charged $1.50 for the salad dressing which I do not recall seeing that cost on the menu nor did the waiter (Owner Son) informed us. We also were charged $5.50 for the martini mix. Then the final additional charge $6.35 (4%) of the tab I had to pay forCharging it to a credit card. I didn't notice a sign saying this in advance. Im wondering if they would except checks? In the end it cost me an additional $21.85 extra for the three (future Mother in law) dinners. Very sad, this use to be a nice place to go for a meal. As far as the food very disappointing..had been awhile since I dined with them so wasn't sure if they still served the great dipping oil & bread which they did not but that's fine ( it was so good years ago) ordered the marry me chicken which had a lot to be desired - sauce was to thin & no flavor ..( served w a topping of raw tomatoes) I didn't even eat it ! I have always enjoyed their food and service for years. I go every year for my birthday and often other times throughout the year as well. Their seafood diavolo marinara is enjoyed by all of my friends while I enjoy their eggplant dish. I wish they had a larger dessert menu but what they have is enjoyable. This restaurant is one of the few that offered Stella Artois Midnight Lager, the only beer that I'll drink and it was a wonderful surprise when I wanted a change from the usual wine and pasta. National Yelpers, if you're in the Youngstown/Boardman/Canfield/Poland area, this place is a must for Italian food. Northeast Ohio Yelpers (all 12 of you!), take a drive. This place is not far off the turnpike, just north from the SR-7 exit, right on Route 7 (aka Market Street). One thing you have to keep in mind is that this area is known for great Italian food. Making great sauce around here is quite common. This place is a standout. The food here is great. We ordered their surf and turf special for New Year's Eve takeout. It was a bit expensive at $100 for two but was tasty nevertheless. We each had 3 nice size shrimp with a really good cocktail sauce that tasted homemade, not off the Sysco truck. The prime rib was cooked perfectly as were the baked potatoes that accompanied it. I ordered "medium" but ended up with medium-rare which was fine as we zapped it for just a few seconds to warm it up after the trip home. The only disappointment was that cannoli that came with the meal were a bit small. They have a nice takeout setup separate from the main restaurant which makes it nice for staying safe in Covid-times. Once Covid is over, we'll stop in for a proper dine in meal. read more

After reading some previous reviews, I wasn't sure what to expect. Now that I've eaten here, I probably won't be back. Here's why... Atmosphere - Upon entering the restaurant and walking up to the hostess desk, the three ladies working behind it just looked at me. No greeting. No welcome. Nothing but blank stares. I asked for my group and one decided to snap to life and show me where my friends were seated. Most restaurants I know hire hostess staff to GREET and seat customers, not stare at them. The restaurant's decor was a bit misleading. The outside of the building gave an impression of semi-upscale dining. The exterior door was framed with beautiful pine rope and Christmas lights which were a nice touch. But the inside reminded me of an out-dated Las Vegas casino. It wasn't the cleanest either. Several of us asked for another set of silverware because what we had was dirty. Even the waitress groaned because she had to keep getting clean forks. Food - Fair at best. Hearty portions but I feel the food was overpriced. I ordered lasagna which was nothing special at over $15 a plate. It came with bread and the most pathetic salad I've ever seen. The lettuce tasted as though it came right out of a bag and the white balsamic dressing was the consistency of water. I literally took two bites. My friend ordered linguine with greens and chicken which was much better. The dessert, key lime pie, was quite tasty. However, when my friend asked the waitress if it contained nuts, she replied that she didn't know because the box in which it came in had been thrown away. Just a plain tacky! Considering the service, taste, and price point, I'm surprised this place is still open. This community is known for great Italian food at good prices. We are never disappointed when we eat here! My favorite meal was a pork tenderloin with fruit chutney that you could've cut with a feather. I still remember how sublime it was! Made a reservation for a Saturday for my moms birthday. They accommodated a nice booth for our party of four. Our waitress was on her game, super friendly and attentive. I ordered the veal parmigiana and swapped out for cavatelli. The veal was lightly breaded and baked. The sauce on the veal and the cavatelli was delicious, not too sweet not to bitter. We stopped here to eat while traveling through Boardman, and were pleasantly surprised. The Caprese Baked Brie was out quickly and rather good. The service was polite and efficient. Caffe Capri is pretty darn good. I went this past Father's Day with a group of 7 family members. Everyone enjoyed their food selections and our waiter. I ordered a Brier Hill pizza which for those not local it's a pizza that has only sauce, green and red peppers, sausage, and grated Romano cheese. Unfortunately Caffee Capri does not put sausage on their pizza which makes for a very sweet pizza. Mostly because their sauce is already sweet to begin with. Now my biggest critique is on their pizza dough. If I'm getting a pan pizza I expect that bread like structure with my dough. But when I get served a thin pizza and it has a bread like structure I get disappointed. I prefer that high gluten thin dough with a nice chew to it. I want that bite to have a pull, that crispy crusty exterior with a hot soft interior and slight yeast taste. This Brier Hill pizza was on a bread dough type pizza, cooked as a thin pizza, and lacked taste and texture. So why did I give it 4 stars? Because after tormenting the waiter about the quality of their cannoli I was extremely pleased while eating it. While it was my favorite cannoli ever it was definitely in the top 5 of my cannoli list. They actually put cinnamon in their dough which is a must for me in the cannoli world. Their ricotta filling was very creamy and sweet with mini chocolate chips on the ends. All together the cannoli hit every mark, excellent crispy shell to the smooth creamy filling with a very wonderful taste. I would return just for the cannoli. Believe it or not, this was my first time to Caffe Capri and it did not disappoint. A great red sauce Italian place on the South Side. This is the kind of food you look for in Youngstown, Ohio. The restaurant has that Youngstown Mafioso Chic going for it, as you would expect given its location. Some great seasonal mixed drink concoctions, including some delicious martinis. The sauce was up to snuff and better than anything I've found in Cincinnati. I had the Italian Platter, a combo plate of all sorts of pasta favorites bathed in a delicious marinara. I callled and made reservations and we got right in. There was only four tables full. We sat and within ten minutes the waiter comes and gets our drink order. We got four waters. Five minutes we got our water. All down hill from there. After we gave our order fifteen minutes later still no bread or our salads. The waiter is by himself so I don't blame him he is doing the best he could. When our salads came my blu cheese dressing was almost frozen or a thick dip that when I turned it upside down nothing came out. So I asked for more dressing and seven minutes he brought it and he said I guess I'm late that I had ate my salad plain. When the food showed up it was hot. It was good but everything else that was happening took away for the whole dinner. I tipped my waiter good because it wasn't his fault. Everyone around us was complaining about something. When we left there was a line of people waiting to go in. As much as I wanted to tell those people to go the other way my wife told me not to say anything. What made me so made is the owner came to our table and listen to me and everything that happened and he said he can't get anyone to work and thanked us for understanding. Mother's Day. How memorable this one will be. Took my 82 year old mother out to dinner with my husband. Reservations were at 5:45. They didn't write us in and had to wait a half hour. Not a big deal. They are shorthanded because no one wants to work anymore. I understand that. What was really bad was that over half their menu was unavailable because they ran out. Their salad came out of a bag from the local grocery store. Paid top dollar for 2 meals (husband refused to order or eat at that point) and my husband just sat and drank expensive cheap tap beer and was pissed off the whole time and had to go to the bar to get it. Sadly, ANOTHER Youngstown area restaurant that seems to ONLY CARE about your frozen meal AFTER the fact. If I could give NEGATIVE stars I'd give NEGATIVE 5 stars!! AFTER we waited for over an hour to have our meals brought out to us my 3 cheese manicotti was nearly frozen. My meat ball WAS frozen as was the sausage. My wifes "Penne Vodka" pasta was also COLD! Our server never once came back to our table to inquire as to our satisfaction of our food at any time after the meals were brought out to us. Oh, but 3 minutes after we did receive our food a busboy was trying to take our plates. Plates that were literally just delivered 3 minutes prior! When we got our checks, low and behold what did I find? The gratuity was ALREADY added in AND they charged me for my salad dressing NEVER telling us that there is a charge for salad dressing!! This was my second try at this so called restaurant. The first time was about a year ago. I had linguini that was cold and had zero taste. I should have known better than to give this over priced slop a second chance!! Tonight, I paid my tab however I let the females out front know of my dissatisfaction. I would have let the manager that greeted EVERY table around us EXCEPT ours know of my dissatisfaction but apparently he too doesn't care. I say this because he COMPLETELY ignored our table!! In closing, DO NOT waste your money here!! I paid over $40 for two meals that we COULDN'T EAT and I am willing to bet others will too!! I have eaten a lot of italian food in my 22 years. This place is utterly amazing. I have a hard time even going out for italian in southern california, because I know it's never going to stack up to any of the authentic eateries in Northeastern Ohio. The food here is not only amazing, but inexpensive. Their bread is delicious, especially with the olive oil. The wine list is great. Coming home for a visit I always look forward to having hometown Italian food that can not be found anywhere in the South. Caffe Capri's Italian greens and wedding soup top the charts! The greens are not greasy and the soup is not salty. A meal in the company of friends you haven't seen in years is only improved by the friendly staff and excellent service.
