Seafood melody is what I order most times....very attentive servers...pizza so delish!

The food was terrible. Eggplant parm had hard rubbery layer of cheese, and tasted like it was fried on a dirty grill. The side of spaghetti had tomato sauce that wasn't cooked down enough so was tart and tasted like crushed tomatoes from a can. Bread in basket was stale. Dessert was Tiramisu and all three people at out table agreed it was awful. You could pour the coffee out of it like soup. It was lukewarm and horrible. Only thing good was salad which was cold and crisp. A shame because we used to love this place. read more

This is the first time at this establishment and wanted to try a hometown place. There is no reason to go into detail as I'm sure everyone know what happens when you receive bad service. The problem became when it took 50 minutes to receive a sandwich, two bowls of spaghetti and a chicken parm. When the table that was sat down next to us 25 minutes later had their food come out before ours‍ To top off the night the "manager" was completely dismissive and rude. When I asked to speak to the owner or a way to get ahold of him I was told they couldn't do that. We asked for the manager to come over to the table so we could settle things but instead she sent a server. What a coward!!! My first yelp review. Went to dinner looking forward to having pasta. We sat at the bar, there was live music and my lavender lemon drop martini was perfect. I ordered the spicy margarita sauce and added blackened chicken. I love spicy food and have had this dish multiple times at various places. This dish had an un enjoyable heat. Two bites in I could not eat anymore. I mentioned to the bartender (our server) her reply was ours is really spicy and the blackened chicken is really seasoned. No offer to get me something else. My husband enjoyed his dish. I left hungry and will not be going back. 70.00 dinner and to leave hungry with no offer to make this right is unexpected and a waste of my money. read more

Wife and I went here for the first time. We had an appetizer of onion rings and a bread basket. For the main courses wife had the cob salad with shrimp and I had the standard burger cooked to medium. The cons: not much but the onion rings were very greasy and tasted a little like fish. Assuming they use the same oil for their fried fish. The atmosphere is just Ok at best. The pros: My wife said the cob salad was very good and the blue cheese dressing was outstanding. My burger was cooked perfectly. One of the best burgers I've had in a while. Fries were good as well. Our waitress was outstanding. We loved her and wish we got her name. Hope to get her again. The entire staff was pleasant and very polite. Give them an A+. We went early but were only able to get a table because all the booths were reserved. I'd recommend reserving a seat in advance since the place wasn't that large. Conclusion: overall this place is very good and will definitely go back again. We will add it to our core dining places. Very happy we tried it. read more

Ordered out some pizza over the weekend. First time trying it. When I went to pick it up the staff was friendly and quick to help. I got a 12in Briar Hill and the hubby got a 12in Giovanni's. After a day in Cleveland, we stopped here and met friends for just a nightcap. While we only had drinks, the waitress, hearing that it was our anniversary, brought us a complimentary slice of Tres Leches cake with a Happy Anniversary message for us to share which was simply divine. Needless to say, service was friendly and efficient and the fact that she provided us a tasty treat without hesitating or being asked, added a great touch to the visit. read more

Our waiter was Mike and he was great! He was prompt and not overly attentive aka annoying. He did check on us as he walked past our table so if we needed anything which was awesome. Answered all our questions prior ordering. We ended up ordering the special on Friday,which is Fish Fry. Everything on the menu sounded very good. The meal came with either cup of soup or house salad . I had the soup, the dinner had 3 good size pieces of fish and I chose a baked potato. My BF had the salad and the fish fried and coleslaw which both were very good. Desserts sounded awesome but we were too full. We also passed on the complementary bread. Quite disappointed. Ordered the 16" thick-crust pizza. Order-delivery time was good, but the pizza was disappointing. There was no flavor in the crust (I don't think they used any olive oil when baking it), there wasn't enough sauce on the pizza, and it seems that they used pre-shredded cheese. Not sure why they wouldn't use freshly shredded cheese on the pizza. The worst part was that I remembered that the left-over pizza was in the car and I had to bring it into the house. read more

The head barmaid acted VERY entitled. My friend ordered a Stella, however before they could clarify bottle or draft she took the liberty to fix a draft. They let her know that they preferred a bottle and she began to criticize their choice to the other patrons at the bar. We overheard her and replied, " You know we have a choice of what we want to drink and we prefer a bottle." We thought this would end the bashing of our choice , but she continued to talk about it as if we should have accepted her choice. She really need's customer service training and learn to listen before she takes it upon herself to act on other's behalf. We drank the beers and left because she made us feel so uncomfortable when we were only trying to wind down after a long week of work. We will never return. I am new to the area but my wife is not, and this place was one of our first date nights back in the day when I was still commuting from Cleveland to see my girl. It holds a special place in my heart for that reason, and since I ended up moving out here we have been a total of 6 or 7 times. Every time the service was great and the food was good. Its just an overall nice place for a meal and they have great pasta dishes and damn good pizza. The only reason I just can't bring myself to giving a 5 star review is the last meal we had there (a few days after Valentine's day), was pretty bad. We didn't even come close to finishing either of our meals--it really seemed like it was a different chef that night because it was certainly not on par (not even close) to what we've gotten on previous occasions. The server did comp us 25% off our bill without us even saying anything because I think she got the point when we declined to get to go boxes for either of our barely half eaten meals. We appreciated that, but still...leaving a restaurant hungry after spending 45 bucks is disappointing. We're hoping it was a one time thing, and we will be back again for hopefully a better experience of which we've had plenty of on our handful of visits in the past. This is by far one of our go to spots! The food is always consistent and delicious! Wide variety of foods from burgers and pizzas to complex seafood dishes. I have never had a bad meal here. Some of my go to dishes are Fruit of the Sea olio sauce with hot peppers, Thai calamari, Giovanni burger and the greens are some of the best in the area! Highly recommend. read more

They should update their websites menu! I chose my entree from the website prior to arriving only to find out the menu changed. The only thing that saved my evening was Michael. Our server was was very helpful and respectful. His priority was making sure I was satisfied with my drink and dinner choice. I ended up with the Giovani, blackened chicken on a bed of greens with Margherita sauce and a Hungarian pepper with a side of capellini. It was very good! My husband ordered the lobster stuffed walleye. The fish was wonderful but the sauce was just their lobster bisque poured over it. I will definitely return although I will not have my heart set on anything from their online menu. We ordered pizza from Margherita grill for my daughter's birthday. We ordered the briar hill pizza and a Hawaiian pizza. The best briar hill pizza north of Youngstown. Their pizza crust is amazing. The sauce was just perfect not to strong but with a good flavor the pepper and oil were some of the best I've had. It was very affordable we fed four adults for under 70 bucks. First time eating here. They have a very nice menu. Mostly Italian they did have specials . So hard to choose everything sounded so good. I got a glass of house wine very nice. I ordered the Eggplant cake that came with a side of spaghetti and their tomatoe sauce . Everything was so good and fresh . There was warm fresh bread on the table and we ordered peppers and oil . Yum . One person got a hamburger it looked delicious with fries. Another person got stuffed shells and she loved them. And the chicken with Alfredo sauce it must have been good because she ate all of it. They gave you a nice portion I brought half mine home . I'm going to definitely go back because I want to try everything. The place had a nice crowd for a Tuesday and extremely cold weather . We all enjoyed our food. Trying to spread money around to local restaurants during this virus craziness. We got the Chicken Franchisee and it was basically chicken in chicken broth, and the pasta was in chicken broth. My wife was livid. Thats one of her favorite things to order out, and said it was literally terrible. 40 bucks for a family meal soaked in chicken broth.. I am making a special effort to write a review because, even though I've lived in the area 8 months now and have tried a lot of pizza places - all rated highly - this is the first time I really enjoyed the pizza (got a Margherita style pizza). It was admittedly cold when I got it, but I popped it in the oven for 10 minutes and it was ready to go again. It wasn't even overly crispy from the reheating. The sauce was slightly sweet and complimented the basil that comes on this type of pizza. I'm so happy that I finally found a good place. I saw that they put peppers and oil on their white pizza, plus I like greens, so I even have a few more to try. Thank you, Margherita Grill, for my delicious pizza. Got curbside takeout during the virus quarantine. First time trying it - got the $10 beer battered cod dinner. 2 huge pieces of fish, Mac n cheese, wedding soup, and bread and butter all for that price! The fish was AMAZING! I will definitely be back to get that. The Mac n cheese wasn't homemade, more like kids processed kind and the wedding soup was just okay in my opinion. So next time I would probably choose different sides. The BEST battered fish though! read more

I've eaten at this restaurant for years. Last night I ordered blackened prime rib, baked potato and salad to go. The prime rib was fat and gristle, not even edible. The potato was brown inside, dY old. I ate the salad only. I brought the meal back($25.00) and the manager said, you ate your salad, I can only give you a replacement steak!! I stopped in town traveling through! Stumbled upon this place ! I sat at the bar and ordered the Garlic Roasted Chicken Salad! Wow! Very tasty plenty of garlic, and chicken! The chicken comes blackened!! If you do not like spicy ask them for plain chicken.., I'll admit I'm not a HOT foods fan! The chicken was great blackened, but I was sweating by the time I finished! Normally, I'd give this place a 5 star review. However, yesterday warranted some concern. We completely understand how short-staffed everyone is right now and how difficult this time is for small businesses. With that said, our poor service doing takeout was unbelievable. We were told to come in at 6:30 (2 hours after placing the order) to pick up the large order of food for a quarantine birthday celebration. No problem, we waited and sent someone to pick everything up at that time... but our food wasn't ready. This was also no problem, but it ended up taking another hour and a half before the food was actually brought out. Several other orders for delivery services and other families appeared to have been handed out while our pick-up person waited. It was ridiculous that she kept having to ask -- clearly, nothing had even been started when she arrived. I'd understand things a bit more if there was an explanation or mention of a delay, but we received none. And, in the end, they sold out of one of the things we ordered anyways. It would've been cool to know that upfront. The food ended up being ok in the end, but hardly up to par with the intense wait and the stark difference of our usual dining experience. Nothing was cold though, so that was a plus (at least). An already difficult birthday was made a bit more difficult with this experience. Our consensus ended up being that Arby's would've been better... but, oh well. I guess all we can do is hope that we have a better dining experience next time we go -- maybe after these tough times slowly return to normal. In the meantime, however, I'd recommend some improved customer service and more accurate wait times. Just picked up take-out dinners, and could not have been more disappointed. The fish had no flavor, small mediocre salad, had to add additional items at home to it to make it edible. They ran out of baked potatoes, gave us mashed, again no flavor; so didn't eat them. Trying to figure out what to eat for dinner. Unfortunately we could have gotten a fish dinner at local church and not spent $39.00. The place is a Covid hot spot with little to no masking by employees. Never disappointed when we eat here. Food is always great! Nice wine selection and I love the Gorgonzola salad!

First time here and arrived early on a week night with every table available. They seated us near the bar area, which was fine, but when the very next customer came in, they seated them right next to us. Now you are competing for talking space. Don't understand when a whole restaurant is empty why you would do that. Service was prompt. We ordered the Hungarian pepper appetizer and a small, thin crust pizza, which our server assured us had huge pieces. The peppers were tasty, but SUPER SPICY. I had only a few bites and couldn't eat more and I like spicy food. My husband muddled through it, but lost taste in his mouth at some point. They brought a large can of tomatoes and sat them on our table which would serve as the stand for the pizza. The pizza arrived and we were shocked. The thin crust was not thin at all, and the pieces were the size of a frozen Tombstone pizza. Disappointing! The taste was fine, nothing special. To top it off, the people seated next to us ordered seafood, and it smelled horrible. Totally ruined any eating experience we may have been able to enjoy. Prices are good, but overall, disappointing experience and will likely not return. read more

Dinner tonight at Margherita's Grille in Girard. This is my "go-to" place in Girard. I see a few folks think the food is bland, I've not ever had that issue - but that also could be what I or they order? Tonight Nayda was my server and she was very knowledgeable and friendly. Never waited for anything, even though I ordered a few different items that may have seemed odd. I "sampled" a few dishes tonight and all were good. I ordered peppers in oil and Thai Calamari for appetizers. Both good, the Thai Calamari was clearly outstanding. Wonderful favor and great presentation. Complementing the calamari on the plate were some julienned carrots and cucumbers, all tossed in the Thai Chile sauce. The peppers in oil was good, but I thought the size of the pepper slices were a little large compared to other nearby restaurants. I also ordered a special salad which was featured tonight. Mixed greens, blue cheese crumbles, cranberries, toasted pecans, a few sliced strawberries and was supposed to come with the champagne dressing. I swapped out balsamic vinaigrette for the champagne dressing. I also had a build your own calzone and since it was $8, I was thinking it would be a reasonable size. Nah - it was larger than expected. I asked them to add Ham, Sausage, Mushrooms, Salami, and Hot Peppers to it and serve it with the spicy marinara. Wow, was that a good combination. I tried my best, but left a little of all of the items I ordered and all were quite good. read more
