Just ok. Maybe if they didn't charge extra for using a credit card it would've tasted better.

Our recent visit was no different. We stopped at the bar for a drink prior to to moving to our table. The bartender was quite good as well as personable. I had a Bacardi and diet Coke and my wife had a lemon drop martini which she said was probably the best she has ever had. A note to future guests: the bar is quite LOUD. The locals that inhabit the bar are quite vocal and boisterous. We have noted this on each occasion. We then moved to our table. The atmosphere is very comfortable and romantic. Our server was prompt and knowledgeable. I had the marinated Skirt Steak. It was awesome! Perfectly marinated and cooked to perfection. The mashed potatoes and green beans that accompanied it were fantastic. My wife went with the Chilean Sea Bass with Lobster Risotto. She noted the Sea Bass was cooked to perfection: moist and flaky. Very good. She did note that there was a minimal amount of lobster added to the risotto. But overall very enjoyable. We definitely recommend Vittorio's . Next time we are in town I'm sure we'll stop in again.

We were seated in the back of the restaurant and enjoyed our space. Our waiter (wish I remembered his name) was extremely polite, attentive and great. We had complimentary champagne which was such a nice touch for Valentine's Day. Our bread, like last year, was delicious. More was brought out upon request and the next batch was sooo hot, soft and fresh. Our fried calamari was good but a little too soft. Could've used a little more crunch. My rigatoni Ala vodka was incredible. Filling but incredible. Had to take the leftovers home. My husband's dish (pappardelle) was amazing, as well. Last year when we ate here, I was pregnant with my daughter. We were so excited to have our daughter join us here this year that we had to take a picture in the same spot as last year's picture. I asked the owner who took our picture last year to take our picture again this year. She actually remembered us from last year AND where we sat! How cool is that?! When we paid, we were given Hershey kisses and off we went. Another amazing experience here at Angelo's. We love this place!

We had the spadini alla Romano as an app which was quite cheesy and lemony, as we love it to be. The veal sorrentina was so delish! It came out hot and tender. The veal chop parm was huge, crispy and tender. As a side note even the sautéed spinach was hot! The entrees come with a potato croquette and spinach. Really tasty In closing Sam came by several times to refill our wine (we bought a good bottle) but not he was not intrusive We will be back with friends !

4 weeks ago, at Sophia's of Amityville, a waiter muttered "bitch" at a patron after she asked for…read moremore coffee. She confirmed him after he walked away, he denied it, and never came to her table again except to drop the check. Every time after that when she is there he avoids her. On March 27th when a fight broke out among patrons last night at Sophia's, people complained to the owner, Rico, and manager Marcos, who replied, "Just ignore it." When advised that one offender may be drunk and drugged, they replied, "People are gonna be on drugs, you want us to screen people at the door?" Lesson for Sophia's: when someone, anyone, is disrespectful at your place of business, you... wait for it... You eject them. March 21st, I went to see a singer at Sophia's of Amityville, and at one point, in passing, I found myself talking to Marcos (manager? who books acts) at the podium (I forget why) and he said, "so you want a gig?" Then he opened the book said he had Thursday April 23rd open. I said I was already booked with someone on the 26th, he was confused, then went to that page, saw that I was correct (my partners name was there), then ADDED my name... I watched him do it. SO, THERE IS NO WAY he "oops" double booked. Yet, last night, after I announced my partner and I would be there on the 26th, soon they informed us that they double booked and another performer was on that night, not us. So far, 4 people have messaged me and said they had the same "double booking" problem where a performer shows up and Sophia's tells the performer they are canceled because of "double booking". In other words, they are stealing from performers who could have worked somewhere else and now lost the opportunity to earn a living simply because the performer had professional integrity and courtesy to keep his/her promise. Friday, March 27th at Sophia's in Amityville a fight broke out [[the 3rd case that I know of]] started by a drunken, (possibly drugged) out-of-control table of 4 (couples, 2 men 2 women). The management, the staff at Sophia's, did NOTHING to stop it. No intervention, no ejection of the offenders. They ignored it. The couples' behavior had been disturbing most of the evening. Instead: Sophia's allowed them to pay their bill, THEN - those 4 ppl moved to the bar where the bartender (who witnessed it all) served them shots after they had consumed 3 bottles of wine at dinner. The most offensive part to me: well, after all that - Sophia's was actually talking to one of those 4 ppl, a guy named Joe, offering him a singing job there...

We had Greg as our server and I have to say, he really made our night. From the moment he came to our table he was warm, funny, and genuinely made us feel like we were the only people in the restaurant. He knew the menu inside and out and when I was torn between two dishes he gave me the best recommendation without hesitation. He checked in at all the right times without ever feeling intrusive and just had this great energy that set the tone for the whole evening. Honestly Greg alone is a reason to go back. The food was so good too. Everything tasted fresh and the portions were way more generous than I expected. We got specialty cocktails to start and they were so good we ordered another round. Dinner was delicious but the highlight for me was the homemade pistachio cheesecake for dessert. I am not even a big dessert person but that cheesecake was something else. I am still thinking about it today. If you are looking for a great night out on Long Island, just go to Mama's. You will not regret it!

** THE FOOD WAS GOOD. THE SERVICE WAS ABYSMAL **…read more This is a beautiful restaurant and I wish I could base this review on aesthetics alone. My family and I are still reeling from our experience here this week. The food here is very good. We all agreed. Unfortunately, we also agreed that the "service" was about the worst we can remember having anywhere. Our server was a male, perhaps mid 40s, light hair, little ponytail, not very tall. We did not get his name. Right from the beginning we noticed something seemed off about him. He was rushing, was clearly agitated, aggressive, and rudely interrupted us when we attempted to ask questions. Appetizer salads arrived at our table even before we were finished ordering our dinners (we still had menus) and when we asked him to *please* slow down, that we wanted to enjoy the dinner, he raised his voice and got visibly angry. We saw him walk away, throw up his hands and shake his head, all in plain view of us. His behavior continued throughout our meal and made the entire experience so unpleasant and uncomfortable. When he brought over a bowl of soup, he said, very loud and sarcastically, "There's a spoon there for ya!" Honestly, he seemed so worked up, I was worried he was going to dump the thing in my lap. Dude clearly has issues he brought to work with him. We also noticed this person openly coughing into his hands, rubbing his nose, and then serving food to another table. (We did mention this to another server as that is pretty disgusting.) We were celebrating a birthday and when we came in we asked the host at the door to please put a candle in whatever dessert we ordered. We provided a bag with a candle. Well, we ordered dessert, but the candle was MIA. Nothing, nada. When we left, they gave us back the bag, but the candle was missing. (!) By this point we weren't even surprised. (And they told us the candle had been in the dessert. It definitely wasn't) One star is for the food, the other is for the kind woman with the long dark hair who also tended to our table for the first hour or so. This is clearly a nice restaurant with a good reputation and good food, but sadly, our visit was terrible; a very bad experience and one we wish we could forget.
