They ushered us to a table right away, and we enjoyed paging through the many menu options. Service was friendly and professional. Our cosmos were perfect, and my salad nicouse was tasty. My husband's pesto pasta looked delicious too. Brightly lit and open, with nice decor, many people had stopped in for tea and dessert, but several were enjoying their many pasta choices. Caffe Concerto is just up the street from our hotel. We were exploring the Trafalger Square area, and on our return, stopped by for dinner. The pastry display in the front window was impressive enough to attract me...after being seated and looking over the menu, I knew we had made a good choice. Staff were professional and friendly. The food well prepared and well presented. The nicely decorated interior was pleasant and amazingly quiet. They have a full bar, and we had a Cosmo while we looked over the menu. I loved my Spaghetti Pesto with mushrooms (3 types!), and my wife enjoyed her Salmon Nicoise salad. For desert, we shared a Mille-fueille and it was as good as it had looked in the window display! Located directly across from Harrods, Caffe Concerto is a good mid-shopping coffee and pastry pick-me-up, with picture worthy decor. I originally asked for a cappuccino with coconut syrup, but since they were out of coconut syrup, regular cappuccino for the win. It was smooth, creamy, and exactly what I needed. The staff were effocient and accommodating, about 70 gbp for two with an amazing outlay of scones finger sandwiches and tea. We just finished touring the Trafalgar Square area of London and were most definitely ready for a respite and a pick-me-up. Lo-and-behold there's a Caffe Concerto! This sophisticated Italian bistro was just what we were looking for! The perfect ambience, sidewalk tables, café-like setting and the Cappuccino was marvelous. Although they offer a huge menu of items, from afternoon tea, pastas, desserts and more, we were in the mood for their street bistro Cappuccinos and Mixed Berry Nut tart and a fabulous Palmier - one of the most exquisite puff pastries we've had the opportunity to enjoy. The food at this restaurant was awful. The spaghetti pescatore was overcooked. The chicken breast with risotto was overcooked. This place is far from being an Italian restaurant. I also ordered French toast, thinking that I couldn't go wrong with that. The toasts were overcooked, the banana was not ripe, and what they referred to as Nutella was not such. NOTE: My auntie liked the salmon steak a lot. Honestly, this place is overpriced. The afternoon tea's tea (the most important part) was served before any flavor had been steeped in. The scones were pretty good. The cucumber finger sandwich was very dry. The chicken mayo finger sandwich tasted good but only had filling on one side of the sandwich. The brioche rolls were quite nice. Would've liked the option to select my own cakes, but I understand pre-selecting these ones for aesthetic reasons + ordering convenience. The prosecco came with a decently large serving. The servers were nice but seemed a little overwhelmed. I had no issue with them or the food (besides the two finger sandwiches). However, some of the dishes were a little dingy at the bottom (the bottom of the prosecco glass) and the menu prices were too high for the quality offered. For context, the afternoon tea with prosecco for one was 39 pounds. I get the hustle, rent is expensive! But it really feels bad to pay nearly 40 pounds for a single person afternoon tea set for shoddy tea and bad finger sandwiches, even when the other parts are acceptable. Nice ambience, hubby had the croque monsieur and said it was very good. I had porridge (oatmeal) with strawberries and bananas, perfect portion size. Enjoyed hot chai tea latte very much. Someone on yelp complained about the 12% "service charge" which is actually a tip charge, which I felt was reasonable. All tourist customers never leaving tips is likely why the charge solved this problem. Recommend giving Caffe Concerto a try. read more

Food was fine, service rotten. 2 servers were rude to us, somehow we felt like the stereotypical "ugly Americans" when we asked if our coffee could come while we were eating as we had patiently waited and it didn't come before the food. I came on Saturday afternoon and it was very busy -- the line was out the door. I understand that some people do not work well under pressure, but the host was very rude and I could tell he had a bad day. The employees had to bring tables and chairs from the back and put them in the walk way area in order to seat more customers. Placing tables and chairs in the walk way was very inconvenient, as this makes it easier for people to trip. Unfortunately, we were seated in the walk way and several people accidentally kicked the table because there wasn't enough room to get by. As people kicked the table trying to squeeze by, they've nearly spilled the tea. I ordered the chicken sandwich and was impressed by the size. I've noticed, typically in Europe, the portions are significantly smaller than the States! Our server was extremely backed up and did not bring us extra napkins or refill our waters like we requested. It took a long time for him to return with our bill. Neither of us had euros, so we used a card. We attempted to flag our server, but it was nearly impossible; we asked another server to assist. read more

After we ordered deserts and drinks, they kept trying to get us to leave by constantly passing by the table and looking at the empty plates (including the unprofessional manager). DO NOT be fooled by the look and ambiance of the place, which in all honesty are pretty. The desert and drinks are below average. Save your money for a better place. The food was bland with no taste and the chicken was severely bad and over cooked. I couldn't even cut into it, that's how overcooked it was. Service was also terrible. At lease 4 tables walked out because the servers were no where to be found. I've experienced this at multiple Caffe Concerto's which is a shame. I was very excited to try there risotto but was very disappointment. We asked the server for chili flakes and Parmesan which he brought out when we were nearly done with our dinner. I felt that was a little rude esp given that it was snowing outside. Anyway, we were seated promptly. The decor is quite classy, loved the chandeliers and painted walls. But too noisy. Definitely not the place for a formal meeting. Coming to the food - ordered a pizza, which was quite good.
