Parking can be an issues in Downtown St. Charles since it is limited to street parking or public parking a few blocks away. I had the pleasure of talking with the woman working behind the counter, who turned out to be the owner. She told me she makes the croissants by hand every single day, and you can truly taste the care and effort she puts into them. What makes these croissants stand out is the chocolate distribution. Instead of getting one small section of chocolate that disappears after a couple of bites, the chocolate is spread throughout the entire croissant, making every bite just as good as the last. I bought one that day and immediately knew I needed to go back. That weekend, I returned and bought enough to share with my entire family--and everyone loved them! They have quickly become a family favorite. My daughter and I recently took a trip, and on our way to the airport, I made sure to stop by Meme's Cafe to pick up chocolate croissants for us to enjoy on the flight.
