I came here to get some coffee for a friend and I to go. The place was very busy for a Wednesday morning. I got a pistachio latte hot and I got an iced matcha with vanilla for my friend. To eat I got a mocha nut muffin that was delicious! My pistachio latte was really good and it had a variety of flavors which I liked. The lady that took my order got my friends order mixed up and gave me a chai instead of matcha but she made it right. The only down side is the parking lot is not very big so if they're busy, like when I went, you might have to park in the lower lot or across the street. read more

Admittedly, I have just recently become a peruser of coffee shops, but crooked tree is actually a spot I have been going to for a few years now. The building is old and I love how they showcase the character and age with the decor. It is quaint and bustling due to limited options for a good cup of brew in the area. In any case, the workers are amazing. Polite, respectful, and they appeared to have great camaraderie while slinging espressos. I got a matcha and cold brew. I only had one gripe: not enough ice, but that is also personal preference. In any case, the flavors on both were superb. The matcha was earthy and subtle. A great sunday morning treat. While the service can be a little terse, I have never been treated badly at Crooked Tree. They have wonderful coffee and my favorite time to go is at the holidays because they have holiday coffees that are unique and different from the standard chains. Their everyday coffee also comes in delicious flavors that you may or may not find at a standard chain coffee house. I am not a huge fan of their matcha... it isn't a horrid drink it is just very weak and could stand a little more matcha powder. Other than this I have enjoyed every drink I have gotten here with my favorite being the mocha raspberry or the Snickers bar. They have a very nice bakery cabinet and their muffins are stellar. Nice and moist and has great flavor. They have a varied selection, and I wouldn't hesitate to eat any of it. Also they have a great menu. I had breakfast here and the egg dish I had was very good, however I don't live close so we are usually dropping in because we are in the area. So meals aren't something we normally get there unless I have to be at the nearby hospital. Overall this is one of my favorite places to get coffee. It felt homey, the staff was friendly and patient since my friend and I took a while with the menu on our first visit, and the coffee and food were great. I've been coming here for years because the coffee is so good! However, about a month ago I parked in the back lot and got out of my car to find one of the baristas (with her apron on, that's how I knew they worked here) sitting on the lap of a guy grinding and making out in the car next to me. I came in today to pick up a muffin and a caramel Frappuccino in my order is ready within five minutes They have a cute little dining area to sit and have a drink with friends. My husband and I had an overnight in St Charles last weekend. We tried out this place because it was close by. I am a food snob, and have to say WOW! Frozen coffee drinks tasted wonderful. Could have used a little more of the syrup flavor but was pleased it didn't have a burnt coffee flavor like Starbucks. The omelette was probably the best one I've ever had. Lots of veggies with ham. We were in town looking for breakfast and good coffee and decided to give this place a shot. We both enjoyed our coffee, I had a vanilla latte and the husband had medium roast drip coffee. Me got some sort of avocado breakfast sandwich on an everything bagel that had a funny name. He liked it. I had the BEST cinnamon crusted french toast. It was sooo good. We've been here many times over the years and we love this place. It has a great coffee shop atmosphere and my family and I love to come here and sit for a couple of hours with some coffee and do our work. The coffee is always delicious, but really the best part is the FOOD. I highly recommend the Bacon and Basil crepe or the French Toast, but I will be trying their spicy salmon wrap next time. They also bring everything to your table which is nice and pretty out-of-the-ordinary for the coffee shops we've been to. It says that I should talk about the service, but I don't have a lot to say: we've had no bad experiences so far! A couple of reviews mention bugs: there's some gnats that fly around, but that's pretty standard for June. The building is old but everything is always really clean. I miss the coffee variety that used to be on the counter, but Covid changed a lot of things. I also miss the late weekend hours.
