Oof. Well, this is the second time we've been here with Phoebe as the waitress. These were our two…read moreworst visits. I waited until lunch so I could finally try the $10 burger special. It was like a cafeteria meal, including the soggy fries. My husband, who never complains, was like this is awful. The shake had the consistency of Metamucil. The cooks were watching/listening to something at a disrupting volume that completely disrupted our conversation.. One went on their phone (on speaker) in the booth behind where we were seated and completely disrupted everything. People don't typically listen to Elvis and Pitbull at the same time. After 30 minutes of rude service, a guy (who I heard dry heaving) ran to the bathroom and was vomiting. The other cook yelled for Phoebe (PHOEBE, PHOEBE, come!) who rolled her eyes and stood at the front without moving an inch. This was after terrible food, rude service (ask her about the ketchup) and pity for the elderly couples at a "50s diner" trying to enjoy a nostalgic date. This really sucks, but we're gonna have to find a different spot for our weekly breakfast/lunch dates.

Despite how crazy busy it was, she was pleasant and helpful and efficient. (I'm sorry I can't remember her name.) And they were offering free mimosas to all the ladies which was a nice bonus. Hubby and I both ordered the eggs Benedict with a side of hashbrowns. Everything was perfectly cooked and we were delighted with the crispy hash browns Strangely, we find crispy, perfectly cooked hashbrowns very rarely. And we have breakfast out fairly often. While I only had the Hangover Hash for years - absolutely perfect breakfast - I started trying other items off the menu. The Hot Mother Clucker and Three Little Pigs are phenomenal. Hanisch Bakery biscuits and the absolutely best and perfect sausage gravy easily beats every other B&G in the metro and dare I say it, in the entire country.
