As a Great Barrington local and small business lover, it really pains me to have to write such a negative review... but having had visited Cafe Holli a few times since it opened, I really want to encourage people to take their business to one of the other incredible cafes in downtown GB. In terms of atmosphere, one would think that an adorable little yellow house was destined to be cute and cozy. Instead, the seating is really uncomfortable. I wish the interior was more inviting. As for the food and drink, I was really disappointed. The best thing they have to offer is Pastries by Hanna on the weekends -- but their usual menu leaves a lot to be desired. Their crepes are very dry, and I would rather take the drive up to Lee and visit The Starving Artist. As for the cafe drinks, my matcha was very poorly made (see graininess in photo). My friend, who got an iced mocha latte, reported that it was "mid". The service is very friendly and I wish the best for everyone working there. I will probably not visit again, as GB has so many incredible alternatives to offer, but I do hope that Cafe Holli is able to improve.

Awesome people! Awesome food and coffee. Drink flavors are so fun and really the only place you can find creative drinks like this in Great Barrington. Food is fantastic and the only place to get good crepes in Great Barrington. Super awesome for grab and go (especially in the early morning hours). love it here!!!

"You never see it coming, You never have a clue,…read moreBut there's trouble on the horizon, Bubbling like a roux" (Jimmy Buffet) Walking around and browsing the shops in Great Barrington on a beautiful Spring Day was a real enjoyable experience. We wanted to try a new place for lunch and ended up at Marjoram And Roux for a very nice lunch, It has a front showcasw with baked goods and prepared salads and a big roll of butcher paper on the wall where the day's specials are listed. We ordered at the front counter, grabbed a table in the modestly sized dining room and our two sandwiched came out very fast. My wife ordered a Prosciutto Baguette with arugula, red pepper tapenade, and Buffalo Mozzarella with an aged balsamic dressing for $16. I ordered a Pita Sadwich with White Bean Hummus, Beets, Olives, Pickled Onions, and Arugula for $12. Both sandwiches were served with a small salad of local greens. I loved my sandwich. The pillowy softness of the pita, the smooth velvety texture of the hummus, the sweetness of the beets, and the saltiness of the olives all combined for one fantastic sandwich. Portion size was generous, and since we knew we'd be stopping down the street for ice cream, we each took home half of our lunch. Pricing was reasonable at just around $30 after tax and before tip. There's a lot of lunch choices in Great Barrington and we were very happy with ours.

Very good coffee and hot drinks, teas, iced drinks. We split a spinach croissant into 4 and inhaled it in 2 seconds, it was good. The small menu of specials, written on white butcher, paperhanging on the subway tiled wall, looked fabulous. But the prize goes to the big, round Ginger Molasses cookie, studded with ginger and perfectly sweetened. A few cozy tables, nice natural lighting, relaxing background music and a friendly staff make for the perfect stop along your way.

Heard good things about this spot and added it to our vacation plan. Our rental has a full kitchen…read moreso we grabbed three frozen pizzas and six frozen herb & chess chibatta. The bread will go home with us. The pizza is for dinner. Each pizza would probably serve one adult man and are absolutely delicious. Cooking instructions are on the wrap - put them right on the rack. Crispy crust has plenty of air pockets to keep it light with a good chew. The BBQ onion is sweet. The roasted garlic had a bunch of garlic scattered all over. Lots of cheese on both. The last pizza, roasted red pepper, will be for another day. They had about five pre-made frozen pizza options when we visited. If you prefer, call ahead and they will build one fresh to your liking for you to pick up and bake at home. The interior shopping area is small. By the register is a pastry display case with the most enormous stuffed croissants, scones, cookies and other sweet treats. Behind that is a display of fresh breads. On a rack by the door are bagged bread goods. Freezer and refrigerator cases are along the wall. If I lived around here I would without a doubt be a regular customer and try all their offerings. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Cozy seating area by the front door to enjoy your purchases on site. Big parking lot.

Peach and Ginger also a Double Chocolate muffin. Delicious. The down side was the very unprofessional attitude of the server behind the counter. We wanted fresh coffee and she actually lied to us about that, instead the coffee urn was mostly empty and not fresh. As for the Housatonic location we ordered some fabulous Almond Croissants and Baguette and San Francisco Bread loaf. Whoa delicious. The woman serving us was outstanding and her very professional attitude was a relief compared to their Pittsfield experience we had. Thank you!
