I had such a lovely experience here. I had spotted it on passing during another Yelpy night out and I thought I must swing by for a wee spot of lunch and that is what I did.
It's located in the basement floor underneath Fake Bake Hair & Beauty Boutique and I mention this other establishment for a reason. I believe the two companies maybe linked in a family business sense. Not 100% sure but they are on good terms with one another and have a door that links directly to the boutique from the cafe for boutique staff only. Cafe Lux also had a take away menu with an advert on the back for the boutique which I then went into after for a wee cut and blow dry. See separate review.
I wasn't sure what to go for as the take away menu has a minimum choice on it, more a taster menu. The guys serving said just say what I fancy and they would make it up for me. There is no menu up on the walls apart from the daily specials. I always panic and don't know what to go for as I'm a person who needs a menu to guide my mind to link up what the ol' taste buds desire. I ended up playing it safe and opted for a baked potato and cheese. I took my seat and before I knew it I had a lovely tottie and cheese accompanied with a nice tasty salad in front of me.
There wasn't many people in but the owner (I presume) was talking to some of the customers. He then came over and was asking how I found out about the cafe. I explained I was on my way to certain burger joint when I saw the cafe. He said that they can cook up a fresh tasty burger in a similar serving to the other burger company and it was at a much cheaper cost. I will keep in mind if I'm out that way again. He said that they could everything fresh and the meat options is their speciality. I think it's a case of asking what meat they have and what they can whip up for your lunch.
This is fresh faced cafe with plenty of space and potential. A pleasant experience and wouldn't hesitate in going back. read more
