    rotten lettuce

Oh this is a bad place. Unfortunately, I work super close to Zupa's so we get this catered OFTEN. That being said I have given it just so many chances. I'm sad to say it's never been actually good. I've never eaten at the restaurant and maybe that's a totally different story but man. Anyway, here's a couple photos of the last meal I had from this Zupa's. My lettuce was totally wilted and did not taste good at all. One time one of my coworkers found a live bug in her salad. Don't have any pictures of that but seriously what a bummer.

I used to be a big fan of Zupas but I no longer am. I feel like the last year or so, they have gone downhill with quality and their portion size is a lot smaller. I was in the area and needed a quick lunch. I ordered a to-go order of a try two combo. I got the Wisconsin cauliflower soup and the turkey bacon avocado sandwich. The service was good but did feel rushed (it was lunch hour). My meal was a little over $11. I live about 10 minutes away so I took my food home and was impressed with the temperature - everything was still warm. The soup was very watery. It didn't have a ton of flavor and almost tasted like it was missing something. I had to add some seasonings to make it have more flavor. I used to love this soup but was surprised with how watery it was and tasted. The sandwich was sad. It didn't have any hardly meat on it and just was so small! It was also a little messy in the wrapper and squished all over. I remember that they used to really make their sandwiches full like their menu boards but this wasn't like that at all. The flavor was fine but I definitely could of had more meat and veggies. Overall, it was a less than average experience. I don't think that I will ever go back to Zupas unless someone else I meet up with really wants to go. It's just whatever to me and nothing special.

It's been a couple of years so we decided to give this Zupas location another shot. Sadly, it might be another couple of years till we go back again. Lines were long for some reason but the service was incredibly slow. Food was piling up at the register with no clue which food belonged to which customers. Food got cold while they went down the lines multiple times asking people what they'd ordered, fixing incorrect orders etc. The sandwich sizes have clearly been reduced too and multiple people in our party commented on that. The salad was decent and the dessert possibly the best part of the entire visit but tables were sticky, every single drink we tried from the dispenser (4 different attempts) were flat and out of syrup. Kids got Mac and cheese which was like watery soup and tasted really off. Ended up throwing it out. Overall, sadly, just really disappointing.

I love zupas! The nuts about berries salad is my go to! It is sweet and crunchy and just delicious. I'm not a soup person but have heard lots of good things. Also all of their desserts have been absolutely worthwhile. I do wish their portion sizes were bigger, but they are decent for the price. They always give a chocolate covered strawberry with each meal, but lately I've gotten green strawberries and it seems their quality control has gone down with other fruits and lettuce. The sandwiches don't have much to them, but they are still good and they do have a lot of options on their menu.

This cafe offers an array of soups, small sandwiches, protein bowls and salads. Pros- I like the option to order half or whole size portions. The half salad is small (coming in at about $5) but the turkey avacado one had a nice variety of greens. They throw in a roll and a chocolate dipped strawberry with every soup or salad order. I don't care for the rolls, but for people that like white bread, now you know it's included. They variety is nice. They offer a dozen types of sandwiches, many protein bowl combos and several soups. Cons- Portions are small, especially considering the prices. For example, the turkey club sandwich on wheat bread is TINY and $6.50 The cheese is melted, but there is very little meat. Also, my salad had about 4 small cubes of chicken, which is disappointing. The rocky road brownie is average. They sprinkled a few nuts on top. The caramel ribbon on top was thin but did have a second one half way through buy the flavor was weak. The texture is fudgy but a more milky chocolate flavor.

Our alcoholic beverages took awhile to arrive and the Chardonnay I ordered was not a Chardonnay, but they quickly fixed the error. We ordered the Calamari to start.it was just ok. Kinda chewy and I'm guessing far from fresh. The marinara dipping sauce was ok, and the other sauce was interesting but didn't really go well with the calamari in my opinion. I ordered the Chicken Tortellini Alfredo. The pasta was good, the sauce a bit rich and some of the chicken a bit rubbery tasting. I didn't finish the chicken as I lost interest in the taste. As always the unlimited salad and breadsticks were amazing! The bread nice and hot! My husband ordered the Calabrian Steak & Shrimp Bucatini and the Minestrone soup. I think he was happy?! Ha ha. Service was good until the end. I needed boxes but our server was nowhere to be found! Found a busier and got some boxes. Then hunted him down again for a bag! lol. It's pretty pricey these days. I think our pastas were both about $25 a bowl. I still live they give you Andes mints to savor after you eat. It's quite loud in there, and there were lots of noisy children, my ears were ringing by the end of the meal but I'd give it another shot.

The restaurant is cute with several kinds of donuts, yummy tasty desserts, fresh bread, cinnamon rolls and cookies as well as some cute retail purchases like towels, hats, postcards etc, At 7pm I was quite surprised how many donuts were still left on the shelf in an open shelf system behind the counter. Another thing that was a huge turnoff was as the amount of gnats flying around. My guess is there is rotting food near the booths we were sitting in. The weather is cold, doors weren't wide open so something was attracting them. Restroom was clean and a small but decent sized parking lot.

I really wanted to like this place. I really tried to like this place...but I have to be honest…read more Let's start with the good--the bbq vibe was strong (country music, chalkboards with drawings, bbq smell wafting thru the air). Now for the not-so-good. We usually call ahead because we have a few family members with food allergies. We called ahead and everything sounded kopacetic. We arrived and ordered our food. One member of our 6 person party ate a couple of fries (which she asked about ahead of time due to her allergies) and she noticed something different about the fries. We asked one of the workers if they put something on the fries because they were crispy on the outside. The worker said "I don't think so." We asked if he could check to be sure so he went to ask. He came back and said "it's just crispy coating." So again we asked "can you tell us what is in the crispy coating because we are trying to avoid an allergic reaction." He replied "it's just crispy coating I don't know what's in it." So we asked "is there anyway you can find out what's in the crispy coating?" He replied "there is definitely a way to find out." He goes to the back...again. When he returns he says, "we fry the fries in a fryer with our chicken tenders. I would suggest not eating the fries." His suggestion is well-taken but we still don't know what's in the 'crispy coating.' When we were ordering, one member in my group asked for the two meat plate with brisket and pork ribs. The menu says "pork ribs." The worker said "We don't have pork ribs. We have ribs." So ribs it was. Giving a little room for grace, he was a young man who seemed to be new. BUT if you are at the cash register taking orders, you really should know what's on your menu. As for the food, it was disappointing. Portions were small. For the two meat plate with brisket and sausage, I was given one piece of brisket and a small hot link. To be fair, the menu says "8 oz" for the two meat plate so you kind of know what you're getting. When the order comes out, it looks very small. The brisket was a little on the dry side. The hot link was tasty but small. Buyer beware. TLDR; not coming back
